Nov 14, 2009I have a finished Flash site that my client is requesting I embed a HTML page in it. The HTML page is run by another vendor so I can't just recreate it in Flash and my client wants it to like the HTML page is part of the Flash interface when it launches.
Can Flash do this... call a HTML page and embed it into its interface?

Aug 7, 2009I have been following lee's tutorial on the XML driven mp3 player for a site. However, I have now gone to embed the finished file on an html page, all files for the player work individually, so if I run the SWF by itself it works fine! However, when previewing on the html page the music doesn't play and the titles don't appear. The files are all stored in a 'player' folder in the root folder, however the SWF is stored there too, so I cant imagine that's the problem, I have even tried moving all the files from the player folder directly into the root folder where the index html file is and it still doesn't work.

Sep 2, 2010I have a SWF which I had originally published to Flash Player 7. I added some code which requires me to publish to a min of Player 8. When I test the SWF published to Player 8 it works fine. I can even view the SWF directly in a browser and it works fine. My issue arises when I embed the SWF into an HTML page. When embeded into an HTML page the main functionality of the SWF breaks as well as dynamic text no longer displays. Anyone run into similar problems or issues? I've tried using the simplest of Embeds i could find and it sill breaks it.

Aug 13, 2010I am trying to insert a video into an online article using either object or embed code. When I open the html file created by Flash there are scripts included in the document along with the object code. I have loaded the .swf & .fla files onto a server.
I am trying to use just the object code with the full path to the .swf file on the server and then want to insert this code into an article so that the video will display. This is not working. It seems the absense of all the scripts is preventing it from working.Is there an easy way to insert a small piece of code that will allow the video to display?

"This page required AC_RunActiveContents.js"
What is this supposed to mean? It works fine when its not inside HTML.

Feb 7, 2012I need to make a Flash animation fullscreen. After a bit of research it seems I can only feasibly do this via a browser, since the Windows 7 preview does not support fullscreen.

However, I'm having a problem embedding the flash file into a simple HTML document. The file is called "LaBoheme.swf" and is stored in the same directory as my HTML file. Hence, here is my code;

Jul 1, 2010I have a site where all the pages have a common SWF embedded at the top (Nav and banner), but the rest of the page is HTML.Everything is working fine, but I'm finding the 'independence' between the HTML and Flash is making for some sloppy transitions from page to page.I was expecting the SWF to be delayed, at least for the first page visit(and I have a preload routine inside the swf to make it's delay and appearance a bit more visually pleasant), but was surprised to sometimes find the SWF appearing and playing while the HTML content was delayed (resulting in a SWF floating in black).What I'm wondering is if there's a way I can do some sort of preload on my index page.BUT, not the standard one that I'm sure everyone would suggest (like the javascript image 'preload', or the newer 'css visibility' preload trick). The problem with the standard one is that it doesn't check to see if everything is loaded.What I'm after is a routine on my index page that invisibly loads some of the elements from my inner pages (common swf, maybe some of the images) and WAITS until it's done before moving to the inner pages (displaying the company logo and/or a load status in the meantime).Many people would suggest a preloader inside the common SWF on my inner pages (which I have), but the problem with that on its own is that it doesn't stop the HTML from displaying.
I'm trying to figure out a way to do a preloader (like those in a SWF, which loops until everything is loaded) that controls both the SWF AND the HTML.Recently, I found that you can use one swf to preload another, which would be a potential solution, as I could make an SWF on the index page whose sole purpose is to load (invisibly) the common SWF, displaying the load status and then loading an inner html page once it's done.Problem is, I have bee having trouble finding the coding for that, as most searches for preloaders end up being about standard preloaders, where it's monitoring the same SWF that the code is on, as opposed to controlling a second, external SWF.Can someone point me to or provide me with the proper coding/procedure for a preloader that controlls a second external swf or give me a better solution?

Aug 21, 2010i'm trying to make a quick and easy personal flash website in a short period of time, and i've decided to use 'pictobrowser' [URL] software to create a slideshow gallery easily (my flash knowledge isn't great and my time is limited!). basically it pulls photo info from my flickr sets and creates a slideshow- but all it gives me is some html coding and i'm not sure how to incorporate this into the flash file so it loads every time the page loads.

Oct 26, 2011I'm trying to embed several flash files (swf) into different html pages. These flash files vary in size between 6 and 20 MB. I want these files to start playing immediately once the page is loaded. I'm aware that the file sizes aren't really small and so they will require some time to load. What I would like to know now is if flash will automatically stream these files from the server and will start playing them or if it has to download these files before it can play them? I've only got a local dev environment atm so can't really test the behaviour on live.

Feb 25, 2010when you go to the home.html page an animation will play from start and then stop at the end of it. However, for all other pages i.e contact.html aboutus.html we need the animation to skip to the end straight away and not to play the whole animation through. I was thinking this would be controlled by a variable or some kind of external text file ect. Basically in the first frame the actionscript needs to basically say
"if this html page is aboutus.html then go to the last frame and stop" and with the index page it would say "if this html page is index.html then keep playing"

Nov 17, 2010I'm trying to embed a .swf into a wordpress page. This sounds simple, but it isn't working and I cannot fathom out why. I've uploaded all the relevant files onto the server, and I'm fairly sure all the filepaths are correct. The folder containing the .fla and .swf files also contained an index.html file, which I have put into a template. I've tried putting the supplied code into the HTML on the page, I've tried simply using said template, and the best I'm getting is a blank area which doesn't load the flash content.

Loading Screen Not Showing Up When Embedding In Page

It shows a loading bar whilst the game is loading, but when I embed this same swf url into my website using swfobject (or even with plain old <object> or <embed> tags), the loading bar never shows up, and instead a white box the same size as the flash game is shown, until the game is loaded!
