Professional :: Embedding Multiple SWF Into HTML Page With Swfobject.js?
Jun 15, 2011
I currently embed a swf video on an html page with this script:
<script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
window.onload = function() {
if (swfobject.hasFlashPlayerVersion("9")) {
var att = { data:"player_3982x260_fv4.swf", width:"640", height:"323" };
var par = { menu:"false", allowfullscreen:"true" };
[Code]...
I've attempted a few different ways to embed two SWFs in the html but havent had any luck. Here's the test page I'm working on: [URL]... How would the window.onload = function() be changed to refference two different swfs?
I have tried this and it doesn't seem to work. In the example below the movie on the right (boy in the hat) is embedded using this procedure but the two on the left (paws moving on order button and dog animation) had to be installed using Dreamweaver's swf installation methodology. and, consequently the dog animation does not show up in Explorer 8 and some other browsers.
I'm trying to post multiple .swf objects into one html page. The first .swf object plays fine, but the second one does not load. My page is [URL]
Dreamweaver tells me that swfobject.registerObject does not exist, or something like that, but I see this code being used elsewhere. I have swfobject.js in my main folder, too.
I know of flashvars, but how would one send a variable into a swf and then for instance change the variables value and then pass it into the swf again?
I have been following lee's tutorial on the XML driven mp3 player for a site. However, I have now gone to embed the finished file on an html page, all files for the player work individually, so if I run the SWF by itself it works fine! However, when previewing on the html page the music doesn't play and the titles don't appear. The files are all stored in a 'player' folder in the root folder, however the SWF is stored there too, so I cant imagine that's the problem, I have even tried moving all the files from the player folder directly into the root folder where the index html file is and it still doesn't work.
I have a SWF which I had originally published to Flash Player 7. I added some code which requires me to publish to a min of Player 8. When I test the SWF published to Player 8 it works fine. I can even view the SWF directly in a browser and it works fine. My issue arises when I embed the SWF into an HTML page. When embeded into an HTML page the main functionality of the SWF breaks as well as dynamic text no longer displays. Anyone run into similar problems or issues? I've tried using the simplest of Embeds i could find and it sill breaks it.
In the code below what is addvariable doing also i need to embed the swf only in my html page and it is not php. how to embed the swf file in html page
I have a finished Flash site that my client is requesting I embed a HTML page in it. The HTML page is run by another vendor so I can't just recreate it in Flash and my client wants it to like the HTML page is part of the Flash interface when it launches.
Can Flash do this... call a HTML page and embed it into its interface?
I am wondering if it is possible to embed a YouTube video on a https website. As far as I can tell YouTube videos can only be embedded with the http:// protocol. Is there a way to embed them on a page without Firefox throwing an error?
The <embed> code for that SWF has the "allowScriptAccess" parameter set to "sameDomain". Currently, I cannot put links in "flash.swf" that change the location of the embedding page, because they are on different domains, and making a getURL() or ExternalInterface call won't be permissible.
Changing "allowScriptAccess" to "always" is not an option. Putting both files on the same domain is also not an option.
Policy files don't seem to be the solution (perhaps I'm coding them wrong?) and changing the "document.domain" of the embedding page doesn't seem to work either.
I am looking to decide on what approach should I use when embedding the SWF files for my projects, either using the default generated embedding code or using SWFObject.Up to this point I have been using the default code generated when publishing the HTML file but I have been seeing more of SWFObject and while researching it, I have found that it is quite appreciated as well.
I embedded flash to my site using this:print swf('myflash.swf');into my page.tpl file however it is not recognizing the orig dimensions when using this:print swf('myflash.swf',array('height'=>400,'width'=>700));But the flash is showing up, only the dimensions had the problems. I have been searching and searching around in Google and drupal forums to no avail for a few days now..
I have a site where all the pages have a common SWF embedded at the top (Nav and banner), but the rest of the page is HTML.Everything is working fine, but I'm finding the 'independence' between the HTML and Flash is making for some sloppy transitions from page to page.I was expecting the SWF to be delayed, at least for the first page visit(and I have a preload routine inside the swf to make it's delay and appearance a bit more visually pleasant), but was surprised to sometimes find the SWF appearing and playing while the HTML content was delayed (resulting in a SWF floating in black).What I'm wondering is if there's a way I can do some sort of preload on my index page.BUT, not the standard one that I'm sure everyone would suggest (like the javascript image 'preload', or the newer 'css visibility' preload trick). The problem with the standard one is that it doesn't check to see if everything is loaded.What I'm after is a routine on my index page that invisibly loads some of the elements from my inner pages (common swf, maybe some of the images) and WAITS until it's done before moving to the inner pages (displaying the company logo and/or a load status in the meantime).Many people would suggest a preloader inside the common SWF on my inner pages (which I have), but the problem with that on its own is that it doesn't stop the HTML from displaying.
I'm trying to figure out a way to do a preloader (like those in a SWF, which loops until everything is loaded) that controls both the SWF AND the HTML.Recently, I found that you can use one swf to preload another, which would be a potential solution, as I could make an SWF on the index page whose sole purpose is to load (invisibly) the common SWF, displaying the load status and then loading an inner html page once it's done.Problem is, I have bee having trouble finding the coding for that, as most searches for preloaders end up being about standard preloaders, where it's monitoring the same SWF that the code is on, as opposed to controlling a second, external SWF.Can someone point me to or provide me with the proper coding/procedure for a preloader that controlls a second external swf or give me a better solution? one?
I have just created a Flash movie with a .flv file in flash cs4 when playing the .swf file we can see the controls of the player, when I use the html code the player controls are missing.[code]...

I'm trying to use one html page to load multiple swf files and I can't figure out the correct code to do it.Basically, each main page in my navigation is a separate swf.I need the swf files to be able to load seamlessly over one another.
Looking for thoughts and ideas on establishing communication between isolated SWFs residing in a single HTML page. Need to place multiple SWFs in a single HTML page and was wondering if there was some way to send commands from one of the movies to the other wihtout reloading the page. (would prefer not to reload the page and all the components and have the page "blink" - go blank before loading new and cached data) Unfortunately cannot build this as a single flash object with multiple MCs.. must be multiple SWFs.
Have an idea or two on how to set this up with HTML framesets and loading subpages ( a cheat certainly and far less than elegant) but would prefer not to deal with the heartache that would entail - especially since areas of the page would still "blink" on loading.
I have 3 seperate .swf on a single html page which are all communicating with FMS on separate connections. Do you think there will be any stability issues? or connection issues. All the .swf use the same main.asc. There are no apparant problems so far just need an expert opnion.....a side note is I've also noticed an error in the error logs that says its detected a backwards time stamp when recodring. Whats that all about? The application seems fine. Using FMS 3.0
I'm setting up an HTML page that automatically starts playing a flash video. Well at the bottom of that page - is an area with testimonials thumbnails that the user can click on loading up a small flash video in that component. Is there a way to tell the main video to pause or restart or whatever so that I don't have two videos playing at once

I did a tut from actionscript.org about chromeless windows. It works fine but I would like to launch multiple chromeless windows from one html page. I pasted the script two times, added the correct addresses and now one button is launching the page behind the other button and the other button isn't working
Not sure if I should be posting here or on the Dreamweaver forum [there's a similar post there], but .. I hope to have some music on my site and have been playing around with various Flash based, XML driven, mp3 players [though I'm a beginner with Flash]. I've got one to look [more or less] as I want it but it doesn't work! It works when previewed within Flash CS4 but not within Dreamweaver. The mp3 [the Josephine Foster song] is there, the XML file is there - I can't think what I've done wrong. Here's the url:[URL]
