I am wondering if it is possible to embed a YouTube video on a https website. As far as I can tell YouTube videos can only be embedded with the http:// protocol. Is there a way to embed them on a page without Firefox throwing an error?
View 4 RepliesI have a finished Flash site that my client is requesting I embed a HTML page in it. The HTML page is run by another vendor so I can't just recreate it in Flash and my client wants it to like the HTML page is part of the Flash interface when it launches.

View 1 RepliesI have been following lee's tutorial on the XML driven mp3 player for a site. However, I have now gone to embed the finished file on an html page, all files for the player work individually, so if I run the SWF by itself it works fine! However, when previewing on the html page the music doesn't play and the titles don't appear. The files are all stored in a 'player' folder in the root folder, however the SWF is stored there too, so I cant imagine that's the problem, I have even tried moving all the files from the player folder directly into the root folder where the index html file is and it still doesn't work.
View 4 RepliesI have a SWF which I had originally published to Flash Player 7. I added some code which requires me to publish to a min of Player 8. When I test the SWF published to Player 8 it works fine. I can even view the SWF directly in a browser and it works fine. My issue arises when I embed the SWF into an HTML page. When embeded into an HTML page the main functionality of the SWF breaks as well as dynamic text no longer displays. Anyone run into similar problems or issues? I've tried using the simplest of Embeds i could find and it sill breaks it.

I have a question regarding flash. I am an intermediate flash user. Basically, I want a flash movie to expand like this homepage video, when the user clicks on the go button: [URL] Is it possible to "expand" the borders of a flash animation in such a way, and if so, how do I set this up in flash? Is it possible to have the drop-down menu displace the content below it on a html site? i.e. a 250-pixel high banner drops from the original flash piece, is it possible to have the rest of the page move down 250-pixels as well?
View 1 RepliesI'm working with a friend with some changes to their complex flash site after their previous developer jumped ship on them. In the process of making some edits I noticed that the previous developer had exposed all of their data to the world. Any slightly tech-savy user could pretty much read all the table data in their database by visiting a php page.
So here's the scenario I'm trying to solve.
- The flash site uses Shared Objects to save users access privileges when they log in successfully.
- There are frequent calls to the database to display information (whether logged in or not). The site calls a php page.. lets say... query.php?table="tablename" and returns all tables data... (what a mess). Only specific columns are needed to be returned to the user (whether they are logged in or NOT logged in). there is no check to see if the user is logged in or not when this page is called. so anyone can call a page and get this data.
- Only the ADMIN should get returned the full table set as they are the ones that need to see all the data in flash. however the same php query is called for the admin and for the regular user and any non-logged in user.
So. I guess I can limit the data set returned for the average logged in or not logged in user so the more sensitive data isn't shared. But how can I authenticate the logged in admin to share the full table data?

View 1 RepliesI am trying to insert a video into an online article using either object or embed code. When I open the html file created by Flash there are scripts included in the document along with the object code. I have loaded the .swf & .fla files onto a server.
I am trying to use just the object code with the full path to the .swf file on the server and then want to insert this code into an article so that the video will display. This is not working. It seems the absense of all the scripts is preventing it from working.Is there an easy way to insert a small piece of code that will allow the video to display?
We are planning a desktop client application with Adobe AIR. The client app will be delivered to our customers with a database, which contains monthly updated marketing data provided by our company. As different customers will buy different sets of data from us, for example, a customer is only interested in marketing data in a specific product category, while another customer need all data in a certain region. After a customer installs this client app, new data will be emailed to the customer every month.
So, the requirement is to keep the data accessible only by the customer who bought it. After reading through AIR's secure local store and database encryption feature, I came up with the following design: each customer will have his own secret key (stored in AIR's secure local store), the secret key is used to encrypt the data that the customer has purchased. Of course, the monthly data that we sent to the customer will be encrypted using the same secret key. So my questions are: is AIR's database encryption and secure local store secure enough for this use case? If someone gets the encrypted database file, can he decrypt the DB?
When I embed the flash into HTML I get an error saying:
"This page required AC_RunActiveContents.js"
What is this supposed to mean? It works fine when its not inside HTML.

I'm making a flash website, I know the basics of html and AS3, but this is my first time trying to use them together. I need only two interactions between the swf file and the server:
The .swf needs to be able to grab image files from a directory hosted on the server
The .swf file needs to be able to change the URL
I need to make a Flash animation fullscreen. After a bit of research it seems I can only feasibly do this via a browser, since the Windows 7 preview does not support fullscreen.

View 2 RepliesI have a site where all the pages have a common SWF embedded at the top (Nav and banner), but the rest of the page is HTML.Everything is working fine, but I'm finding the 'independence' between the HTML and Flash is making for some sloppy transitions from page to page.I was expecting the SWF to be delayed, at least for the first page visit(and I have a preload routine inside the swf to make it's delay and appearance a bit more visually pleasant), but was surprised to sometimes find the SWF appearing and playing while the HTML content was delayed (resulting in a SWF floating in black).What I'm wondering is if there's a way I can do some sort of preload on my index page.BUT, not the standard one that I'm sure everyone would suggest (like the javascript image 'preload', or the newer 'css visibility' preload trick). i'm trying to make a quick and easy personal flash website in a short period of time, and i've decided to use 'pictobrowser' [URL] software to create a slideshow gallery easily (my flash knowledge isn't great and my time is limited!). basically it pulls photo info from my flickr sets and creates a slideshow- but all it gives me is some html coding and i'm not sure how to incorporate this into the flash file so it loads every time the page loads.

I'm trying to embed several flash files (swf) into different html pages. These flash files vary in size between 6 and 20 MB. I want these files to start playing immediately once the page is loaded. I'm aware that the file sizes aren't really small and so they will require some time to load. What I would like to know now is if flash will automatically stream these files from the server and will start playing them or if it has to download these files before it can play them? I've only got a local dev environment atm so can't really test the behaviour on live.

when you go to the home.html page an animation will play from start and then stop at the end of it. However, for all other pages i.e contact.html aboutus.html we need the animation to skip to the end straight away and not to play the whole animation through. I was thinking this would be controlled by a variable or some kind of external text file ect. Basically in the first frame the actionscript needs to basically say
"if this html page is aboutus.html then go to the last frame and stop" and with the index page it would say "if this html page is index.html then keep playing"
