Java :: Convert Byte Array From Action Script To Image In Java And Save It

Java :: Programmatically Get The Background Color Of A JSR-186 / 286 Portlet?

Aug 2, 2010

How can I programatically determine what the background color of my portlet will be before it's rendered? (ie in the init() or doview() functions). I want to make an embedded flash movie look transparent-ish by having it's background color (which I can set programatically) match the background color of the portlet. but the portlet's background color could be anything depending on the overall portal theme or by the color manually chosen by the user in the "look and feel" setup.

Java :: Adobe Flex Mobile Background Process

Apr 6, 2011

What is the best solution for multi threading in flex, I notice if I play a mp3 in flex and do something else at the same time something ends up giving out, either the song stops playing or the UI hangs for about a split second. It doesn't have that fluid response that I am looking to achieve. If possible I would like to call a multi threaded java class to do some of the client-side end back end processing. I just don't know if that is possible.

Java - Upload Image Thumbnail To Server Without Uploading Whole Image?

Aug 27, 2009

As far as I know, what I ask here isn't possible, but I thought I'd ask anyway in case I'm missing something.

Suppose you want to let users upload JPG images, and these images are scaled into smaller icons and the original images are always discarded and never required again. Is there any way that would commonly work in most modern browsers that would let the user select a single image on their hard drive, have that LOCALLY turned into a thumbnail and upload the created thumbnail to a server?

In a case where the server just needs a small image, it would be wasteful both in user time and server resources to proceed uploading the whole image, only to immediately discard it. It would be much better to just scale it on the client.

I can imagine three options. Just plain HTML/Javascript, using Flash or using Java. If this were possible with Flash, that would seem like the best option. But reading flash.net.FileReference documentation, it seems that you can upload a file from the HD yes, but you cannot look inside the file you are uploading. On the other hand, if you enable "can access local files" in Flash publishing options, it seems that you can then no longer access the net, so that doesn't work.

With HTML/Javascript, it is possible to load images and display them on a <canvas>, but if you try to access the pixels of these images, you get security violations, so that doesn't seem to work.

Java I hesitate to use, because only 96.52% of my users have it installed, and the file upload dialogs I have seen implemented in Java (at Facebook for example) have not worked well (unresponsive interface). I wonder though if Java is the only thing allowing resizing images from local HD?

Image As Background / Resizing / Scalable Background

Jul 24, 2009

I am relatively new to Flash CS3 and i have been learning Action-script 3 over the past week. I have come quite a long way and i have made a site in flash but i just have a question.I have been using an image as my background and i am happy with the way flash automatically scales all the objects in my file but the background image does not scale. Is there a way to do this? I have found out things online which show me how to add auto-resizing to the background but this knocks off the flash auto scaling/resizing for everything else.

ActionScript 3.0 :: XML Background Colour Property?

Dec 20, 2011

This is probably easy, but I'm an AS3 noob and google is returning every result under the sun apart from the ones I want. Is there a way to set the background colour of a flash movie according to a value pulled from an XML file?I already have the background colour property set as BGCOLOUR within my XML file, and I've used the code in line six to pull that value through (I think)...

ActionScript Code:
function processXML(e:Event):void {
var my_xml:XML=new XML(e.target.data);
my_speed=my_xml.@SPEED;
my_images=my_xml.IMAGE;

[code].....

Since adding the sixth line of code in the section above, it's broken the project, so I've had to remove that line.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Image Not Loading Properly In IE But Ok In FF Or Safari

Oct 30, 2008

I made a simple slideshow type viewer for a client. It works wonderfully for me in OS X using Safari and Firefox, and it works in Firefox under windows as well. Linky Now, the guy writing the backend stuff for the site uses windows, and noticed that when you navigate *away* from the page, and then go back, the images don't load. In IE 7. He sent me a screenshot using some http debugger.

Screenshot So, we figured we'd use a "cache buster" in IE. I made the flash append "?<RANDOM_STRING>" when requesting the images, but it doesn't seem to do the job. The HTTP debugger shows the request occurs, but Flash never actually receives the image. Here's the entirety of the class "SlideshowImage" which is responsible for loading the images ( and other junk, like photo credits, etc ). Hopefully somebody with more AS3 experience can hit me with the proverbial clue stick. I've been writing AS2 for a long time, but AS3 for only the last 6 months or so. I've never seen these problems in AS2, so I assume I'm doing something wrong in AS3.

A final note. I know that the XML file which describes the slideshow is being correctly loaded, since I can see the correct copy overlay and other factors. It just appears that the images never come down the pipe.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Bitmap Displaying Properly Loaded Image

Apr 14, 2007

I have some problems with Bitmap displaying properly loaded image, when providing variables as width and height in the constructor as opposed to numbers, example:

[Code]....

Running the app with this code cuts away half of the picture from right and half of the picture from the bottom. Since the BitmapData is filled with solid white background, the clipping is clearly visible. When line marked with [*] is commented out, and line marked with [**] is uncommented instead, the whole picture displays and all is just as expected. The only difference between those two lines of code is, that in line [*] are used some properties+variables, and constants are used in line marked with [**].

As you can see the images become distorted because they are being stretched. What should happen is that the images be displayed at a fixed width and variable height.

Image Zoom Tool Doesn't Work Properly In Firefox?

Mar 28, 2009

This is the code I use to run a swf that makes zoom on images:

<body>
<center>
<OBJECT classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash

[Code]....

This code works properly in IE7 but in Firefox I have discovered that the images are loaded after than the swf. This swf file needs some parameters to work with the images, but if the images are not loaded previously then the swf does not work properly. In firefox, a page refresh is needed if the images are not yet loaded in the cache.

I have resolved the problem partially preloading the images in the previous page link using: <img src="imagebig.jpg" style="display:none;" alt="" width="781" height="1051"/> With this solution, the images are loaded prior to the swf loading.

how can I use static image to emulate webcam and attach it to NetStream?

ns = new NetStream(nc);
ns.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, watchRecording);
//ns.attachCamera(cam);
ns.attachAudio(mic);
ns.publish(fileName.text, "record");

Although I don't have access to application on WOWZA server I can negotiate with some one to add few lines and recompile it. So server-side solution in java is also an option here.
