I am using spring exception translator to wrap java exception into flex exception.
eg
public void testException()throws Exception{
throw new Exception("my exception");
}
But for some reason, I am getting IllegalAccessError. The code sections are entering the testException and the Translator class.
Question: why it trying to get log target level ?
Below is the lines from the log:
[Code].....
Right away i just try to explain my problem: Using BlazeDS i got the following Javaclasses:
[Code]...
Then i got a Flex service class calling BlazeDS and executing the getCategories java method. Since Flash dosn't seem to understand typed arrays, the result from that method which i get back in flex is a simple array of untyped objects (the mapping dosn't seem to work here, even tought the class category exists in flex and has the same properties).
thats the first thing. but however, i'm converting the untyped objects manually into objects of the category.as class. the second thing is that categories have child-categories within the java object, which are also ArrayLists of the type category.java. the problem about that: my result event object only contains the first level of categories, looking into them the children are allways null. i dunno why they are empty, since they ARE part of the java object category.
and the third thing (the strangest by fast), you maybe noticed i named the properties of the category.java class strange, like idCat and nameTest instead of simply id and name. why that? because the property names of my flex result objects dont seem to change when i change the java objects properties names (result object properties are named "id" and "name" but the java class object properties are named "idCAT" and "nameTEST"). that it REALLY strange, since if i set the properties, like you see at nameTEST = "TESTNAME" it IS recogniced by flex, only the proertyNAMES dont seem to be recognized at all.

I am struggling to come up with a way to efficiently manage Flex entities that have a many-to-many relationships between their JPA/Java counter parts.[code]Both of these entities can exist independently of each other and both have a 1:M relationship with the other. The relationship is not really owned by one side or the other.Within the application there are Flex UI's that sometimes want to see viewers based on movies and other UI's that want to see movies based on viewers.Currently both the Movies.Viewers and Viewers.Movies collections are lazy loaded by JPA which works fine. The problem is that every time I ask a viewer for it's list of movies, then they all get sent over the wire and then within Flex I end up with a bunch of Movie objects that (often, not always) duplicate the ones I already have there.
It seems inefficient at best and could likely cause errors if the duplicate objects are not dealt with.In my real application I have tons of these types of relationships all over some very large object graphs.It almost seems to me that the lazy loaded object collections need to be turned into eagerly loaded collections of foreign keys which are used to explicitly load objects on the Flex side of things. But this seems like I am writing a JPA provider in Flex! Is the correct answer to never store state in a Flex application? (Yikes)I should add that all my value objects have a UID that is created on the server side, so I could somehow use that to find/remove duplicates on the Flex side. But how?
I have an Application consisting of a Java Server part and a Flash/Flex client, both communicate via BlazeDS. In order to have the same typed Objects on both sites, I use the GAS3 code generator (used by flex-mojos).But now I am facing the problem of handling nullable Integers. The problem is that I have an Object (A) which contains a foreign key ID which is reference an optional Object B. - But I only send the ID to the flex client.On the Java site it is easy:
class A {
private Integer bFk;
getter/setter
}
But on the flex client side, bFk is of type int. And a Flash int can not be null. So the remoting mechanism converts the Java null Integer to 0. After sending it back to the server, the Java bFk becomes 0 even on the Java side. - That is not acceptable, because I need to separate 0 and nullMy first workround is using not a Integer on the Java side, but an new Class NullAbleID, which works a bit like a wrapper/adapter, that wrap an internal int where -1 represent null (I can use -1 for null, because real id will be negative). But when I would using this it means I have to replace all Java Integer ids, by this NullAbleID class.
I'm sending through a socket from java to flex client some data and the flex side can't seem to handle it right. In the java i'm looping over 8 objects and for each object I create a long string 1:lsls:2:3:justexample then the java does writeToSocket("1:lsls:2:3:justexample") for every iteration of the loop. But in the client side, it seems that only 2 out of the 8 arrived. what can be the problem?

I tried with flex and java in the backend. In this, I am able to upload files till 100 MB using remote object (blazeDs) where we will read the file as byte array and send it to the java method. If the file size exceeds after that, then I get the run time error in IE.

Meaning specifically, what steps do you go through when creating a new application using these tools?

I'm building a Facebook multiplayer game where the client side is in FLEX and the server side is in Java and I wanted to know if there is a guide on how to build the server clients managing system. When I say server clients managing system, I mean a server which many clients will connect to and will be able to choose between tables to join and play or to create their own table, same way as in texas holdem poker.

When i make a small change in Flex code (eg, reposition of a button...anything), and run the project on server, it does make any change on output. Actually it depends on my luck... because it makes change in output randomly.what is is happening? tried rebuild, republish, clean , restart server, restarting the IDE, restarting the computer all available feature i could think. Also, i created a simple flex project on IDE and compiled it..... everything is compiled and displayed on output.

I'm coding a web app in flex blazeds and Java. I installed the Eclipse plugins for using WTP mixed project. I'm using flex's server that uses an emulate of tomcat when i ran my flex service the web app got the datas, everythings is ok. the problem is when i copy the project with all files generated by flex in my tomcat or the blazeds's tomcat, it doesn't work, this is becasue i want to implement my app on a server the error is:[code]
i don't know why tomcat doesn't find the class of flex.messaging.endpoints.AMFEndpoint that is used for my-amf 'URL...'. all works well in the emulated server that flex has.
i hava two text boxs in flex.have to add two txt boxs values in back end java and have to return back to third text box in flex.

My team are putting together a proof-of-concept Flex application sitting on top of a Spring-based server using BlazeDS.We do quite a lot of date calculations, so we use Joda Time extensively throughout the code and in our domain model.We're now trying to figure out how we can continue to use Joda Time in our DTOs that are sent back-and-forth with the Flex frontend via BlazeDS.
Our goal is to use the Actionscript 3 data type Date on the Flex side and have that map to our use of Joda time's DateTime, LocalDate and LocalTime types on the Java side.We can solve the problem of converting Actionscript 3's Date type when calling Java with a custom type marshaller plugged into BlazeDS, but this appears to only be invoked for the Flex->Java/BlazeDS direction and not for the Java/BlazeDS->Flex direction.
I'm now looking at custom PropertyProxy implementations for BlazeDS, but this doesn't look like the right thing either.The other idea was to implement Externalizable on our Java DTOs, but this seems like too much work, especially when I look at the BlazeDS rival GraniteDS and that shows plugging in Joda Time support in their documentation with a simple type converter!
I am using a custom java exception to provide the flex client with more info than the exception itself. My exception extends Exception and it has a attribute with the needed info for the client. Well, my problem is the following: when I build my exception if I invoke super() or super("message") the flex client can access all the info properly. But if I build the exception with a Throwable cause, super(cause), then the flex client can only access to stackTrace.
public class MyException extends Exception {
private String errorCode;
public String getErrorCode() {
return errorCode;
} public void setErrorCode(String errorCode) {
[Code] ......
By using MyException(String msg) the flex client can access to errorCode
By using MyException(Throwable cause) the flex client can't access to errorCode
In the flex side the code is:
var faultEvent : FaultEvent = FaultEvent( event );
var errorMessage:ErrorMessage = faultEvent.message as ErrorMessage;
var codeError:String = errorMessage.rootCause.errorCode;

In a custom MessageAdapter written for a BlazeDS Java server, is there any way to access HTTPSession and HTTPRequest in a custom MessageAdapter.I'm trying to adapt an existing COMET JSON long-poll messaging system to BlazeDS and we use HTTPRequest parameters to specify message sending/polling paramers (such as a unique ContextID for any given page for a user). Is there any type of HTTPSession information we can retrieve in MessageAdapter receiveMessage()?
If I can't access the HTTPRequest (I'm not sure we can even customize it if we're using the standard Producer, Consumer Actionscript classes anyways), is there a way to uniquely identify a given FlexClient long-poll from another long-poll from that client (e.g. if the same HTTPSession user has a tab open to the same Flex application is there any way to uniquely identify that user?).
I am writing a Red5 application that provides 1-on-1 video chat to a Flash client over RTMP.
Unfortunately most tutorials I was able to find were sketchy at best and the documentation of Red5 itself tends to be vague when it comes to API concepts and intended usage.
In short, I am a bit stuck and looking for hints on Red5 ApplicationAdapter implementation. Gnarly details are as follows:
First of all, the connections come in two flavors: visitors and consultants. A visitor should be able to indicate which consultant it wishes to communicate with. A consultant simply gets connected to the requesting visitor as long as the consultant is not busy servicing another. Obviously, every RTMP connection has two-way traffic: both sending and receiving video. From the standpoint of the server, connections bring in a bunch of video streams that get their receiving endpoints assigned by request. Since several video conversations can be in progress simultaneously, the main task of the application is to handle the mapping of visitor streams to consultants and provide a list indicating each consultant's state (busy/available) via AMF.
So, all in all, I have a pretty good idea what I am aiming for but how to achieve it with Red5 is still a bit of a mystery.
What is the easiest way to establish the connection type (visitor/consultant)? Which API classes should be used to implement a persistent, globally accessible list of active connections for reporting the state of each consultant? How to switch receving endpoints dynamically when the goal is to connect a specific visitor to the selected consultant?

Here is an issue i'm struggling to solve for quit some time now.I have a python + GAE backend with a flex client that communicates via JSON. I'm using flex's HttpService bound to a Responder with result and fault callbacks. When python raises an exception, I don't seem to get it in flex. I did some research and found out that the problem probably lies in the fact that the flash runtime cannot handle http responses with status code other than 200.

I have a client-server multigame suite for PC ("kind of" cross-platform using cygwin), which is developed in Java(game menus and database management), C++ (server side), and adobe Flash (game graphics & interaction).
I have never tried to develop for android, so i have no experience.I am thinking of migrating this suite to google TV. So i would like someone with android experience to give a clue on the following :
1) Is it going to be easy to migrate the Java application to an Android application?
2) What kind of Flash support does Android have? Can it load directly swf applications? Does it have to load swf's through browser?
3) Can i find any kind of performance indexes for google TV hardware?
I need to load somehow the html code of a webpage A into a javascript string of another webpage B, on a different host. I know this is impossible to do with javascript alone because of the same origin policy, and I know I could do it loading the page via php on my server and then send results back to the user's client but I wouldn't be able to handle so many requests, so I need it to be done directly by the user's browser. I can use nearly whatever browser scripting language/applet framework common enough to be installed on the majority of my users' computers, like flash and java.On example, what if I use flash or java to load the external html code and then call a javascript callback function providing the source? Could this work?
View 2 RepliesIf one doesn't have the source code, the only to test is to send keystroke and mouse move so I found this product but it's not free and opensource price is not even known :([URL] Squish supports automating interactions and testing non-HTML/DOM elements, that is, native objects, which are embedded in a web page. This is done at a fairly abstract level, which means that mouse and text input can be recorded and replayed.
In addition it is possible to inspect embedded native objects with the Spy tool and to insert verifications for these native objects. All of a native object's public properties can be accessed in test scripts.
Since I'm developing a multiplayer card game for Facebook using Flex as client side and Java SE as server side, I wanted to know how do I actually make the connection between Flex and Java? the server and client should be able to send each other data(cards,movement,room information etc...) across and I wonder what's the easiest way to do it without complicating it. where to read about it ? I know JAVA but I find JavaEE hard to understand.
