The code works fine when links are images. But I have a problem when there are flash movies. Another page opens with undefined in the address bar when it needs to copy the link id to imagesID input box.

This does not mix. I want to find a way to make it mix, though.
sIFR has automatic parsing of links, so that Flash sends you to the link location. What it doesn't do is pass on javascript triggers. I'm trying to make my menu as accessible as possible, by using hard links and then rewriting them with Jquery into managing the visibility of submenus, like this ~

I've been sent a swf file for a banner that needs to be linked to a url. I am adding this to my client's website and my client has been sent the swf and javascript to add to the page. The problem is that the javascript code is overly complex, and I'm wanting to use Jquery and Unobtrusive Flash Objects (I've not yet updated to swfobject on this site). Can I use Jquery and/or UFO (or indeed swfobject if I have to upgrade) to make the swf file link to an external url (preferably loading in a new tab/window)?

View 1 RepliesI'd been following several answers to similar problems with no luck at all, so i decided to try asking by myself:I have a page with several links that have to load data via Ajax using jquery and put the response inside a div. The main "tab" is a flash wich is inside a layer.Every time a user clicks on any of those links, flash container is resized to 0px and set visibility to hidden (trying to prevent the reload behaviour if display is set to none).
All works just fine EXCEPT the first time you click on any link that hides flash layer. In that particular case (only in Firefox) it resets the flash to initial state. I'm going nuts about this..

Is it possible to login through flash using one Dynamic Text Field and one Input Text Field and no buttons? If so how? I have seen many tutorials dealing with logging in to PHP using flash but it requires you to make your own php scripts which i am not familiar with. Can some one tell me how to do this with PHPBBs existing php scripts... I want to be able to login thorugh a Input Text Field box and have it verify it in PHP and also be able to register and view other PHP info such as users online and FAQ..

But having the user input a number, store it as a variable, store which function the user wants to perform and clear the text field then store the new input in the same text field as a different variable and multiply or add or divide or subtract the 2 numbers and getting the equals sign to display the answer when clicked is harder than I thought it would be.

I can make this happen, but the problem is that the dinamic field shows its new text in the same format as the Input field. For example, the input text is written in TimesNewRoman and the dinamic text is in Arial, but when the dinamic text shows the input, the text is still in TimesNewRoman when I want it to be in Arial.

But if I try to get the number from the input field my code doesn't work. So far I've tried:

I have an input field where the result is added to a htmlText. The problem is, if the user is goofing around and types a < or a >, they can potentially stop any future additions to the htmlText.
Is there some way I can either:
a) stop the user from typing them into the input field or;

I'm trying to make a button that when clicked on opens an email client with an empty address field but a filled subject and body, but have no idea where to begin.The idea is that I have a "Refer me to your friends!" button, so when the user clicks it, it opens an email with the subject "Sairus is awesome" and a body filled with propaganda. The address field must remain blank so they can add in the friend's address they wish to send.For the moment I'm working with the below, however obviously enough the address is being filled in. Hoever, despite the seemingly correct code, the subject and body are remaining empty. I'm using Flash 8, is the syntax different in my version?

with my schools project being 1 week away i started linking up my scenes (we needed to create some virtual world with some small motion tweens in it, contained in different scenes)
we need to be able to navigate trough it.as my fellow students im using the on(release){gotoAndPlay("scene #") code.the first one worked fine, but now, trying to input a new link to another scene, the other button also goes there regardless of the code.no1 else seems so have this problem, is it a bug?
for some simple overvieuw:Scene 1 should link to 2 and 3 after the first button it links to 2 when i applied the second button both go to scene 3 all buttons seem to link to the next scene in the list regardless of codebuttons in scene 1 all link to scene 2, in scene 2 all link to scene 3 (or in this case its 5 because thats the next 1 on the list)
I've played with flash a bit and made a few sites but never with input fields....How would i go about make a input field suchs as: name: (type name here) Job Needed: (blah blah typed in here) and a couple input fields like that......and then when they hit the <submit> button it will send a email to a specified email account........a good tutorial will work.

i published my flash file in flash player version 6 and my text fields all work perfectly now...yet when i publish it in flash player 8 which is what i need otherwise major parts of my site won't work...the text fields don't work?
