ActionScript 2.0 :: Search Field With Link In Answer Field

here's what I want to do: I need a simple CV search function for a small site. There will be two fields: on the first field the user will input a Name or Surname and on the second field the script should return one or more results taken from a pool of names + surnames that should be clickable links to the respective .htm page of each cv. Is this possible? From what I've seen people use the replies in the second field as simple text and not as links.

I am trying to get an answer from Input text Field and compare it to the correct answer.here is how my code look like:
//I have a confirm button here
confirm_button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ConfirmFunction);
//I have a correct answer as a String here
var correctans:String = "July";

This will check if correct answer contains words in the answer from input text field.But that will result on if I key in "July is great", it will still link to the correct answer frame instead of wrong answer frame.I want the answer to be exact same as the correct answer.

I'm creating a magic 8-ball for my website, just a fun little thing to play with you know. I've got an input field called "question" where you can type whatever you want, an ASK button called "ask" and a response field called "answer". Once you enter a question and hit the ASK button I want flash to randomly reply in the "answer" field with YES, NO, MAYBE, DEFINATELY etc. Do I need some kind of answers array to store all the answers and then call them at random into the "answers" field? Am I on the right track?

On registering your website, they give you a HTML code, which you put inside the variables of the search field. So when the user types in what he's searching for, he clicks "go" and then the next page is "Powered by and then the results of the search.Now I wanna know how I can simulate this in Flash 5, with the search results displayed in a normal HTML file, once the "go" button is clicked.I am creating an input text field and then a button saying "go". Is it possible to create a search button inside of a "button" symbol? aaaaaaand have it only appear on the "over" state of the button?
What I want to do is have an image and then when the mouse hovers over it, it reveals (over the image) a search field where you can then enter information and search. I don't want the search box to be revealed when the mouse isn't hovering over it. I've tried alpha, everything.

I have a search field that searches on key press...so you type b and it will automatically return all the words that start with b....if you type ba it will return all the words that start with ba....and so on and so forth...what I want to do is put a delay of one or two seconds before the search actually starts after the user STOPS typing...because with large lists I am experiencing lag...so I want the search to start once the person stops typing...here is what I have...

what i would like to do is create a search field that as the user types in the search bar if there are any matching entries in the list, the focus/selection jumps to that particular item in list. i don't want to clear the list just go to the item that matches.i would like it to be predictive so if i have these entries:and the user types "s" in the search box to the first "s" entry in the list (samson) is selected, if they type "se" the selection jumps to the first entry with "se" in it (seek) if they type "seet" the selection jumps to "seether" and so on.i have absolutely no idea how to do it, but more importantly...is this possible? I have a datagrid and a search field. I've set the change event of the search field to run the filterfunction of the datagrid. I'm able to match the entire term, but I'd like to be able to use a regular expression to do a progressive search (e.g., "Pe" matches "Peter"). I'm trying to make a button that when clicked on opens an email client with an empty address field but a filled subject and body, but have no idea where to begin.The idea is that I have a "Refer me to your friends!" button, so when the user clicks it, it opens an email with the subject "Sairus is awesome" and a body filled with propaganda. The address field must remain blank so they can add in the friend's address they wish to send.For the moment I'm working with the below, however obviously enough the address is being filled in. Hoever, despite the seemingly correct code, the subject and body are remaining empty. I'm using Flash 8, is the syntax different in my version?

Trying to get a text field in my Flash MX movie to pull from and XML file with CDATA tags to show as HTML. I've checked the box to render as HTML for the text data field... but I'm having problems with the Actionscripting.
The field from this line is what I need to recognize as HTML reading CDATA tags:
this.ref["textField"+i].text = subnodes[3].firstChild.toString()
I know I need to do more than just change it to ".html" instead of ".text" and have tried a couple things, but nothing seems to work.

I am trying to create a hyperlink to an external website within a dynamic text field. Basically, I need it to work like this: My text will read, "Here is an example. Click here to see a larger version." I need the "click here" part to be a hyperlink. But since I already have all of this text within a dynamic text field, I can't figure out how to make that one part of the text a hyperlink. I've searched online for an answer to this but can only find information on how to create a hyperlink from the entire text field or to add a button hyperlink. I don't want to do these things.

The code works fine when links are images. But I have a problem when there are flash movies. Another page opens with undefined in the address bar when it needs to copy the link id to imagesID input box.

I am trying to use the date field component to control another field... I need the user to select a date from the date field componet this date will display in the field and an additional date in another field will then display with 280 days added. This action will also control the timeline by displaying a graphic overlay at the appropriate frame.

I have a .txt file with html code inside of it that loads into my swf. i've managed to create a link (ain't i the genius) but the problem is that if the link ponits to another website e.g
a href="http://www.something.com/file.mp3" it just opens the file in the browser.
is it possible to get it to download the file instead?
