View 1 Repliesi just installed an ati radeon7000 32 bit graphics card into my G4 tower so i can run 2 monitors--what i want to do is have my small monitor serve as the desktop where i can control what is being viewed on the second monitor: when the small monitor is set in the control panel as being the menu bar, then when a .swf or projector set to 'fullscreen' launches, it fills the screen on the small monitor but not the second monitor.
how can i set it so that whatever is launched from the small screen will appear in the second/larger monitor? (i want the menu bar and dock to be on the small monitor, so that it is hidden from view on the second monitor) i know i can do this in javascript, but i'd like to keep it on the desktop without having to use a browser-- using the fscommand to set the xy coords, or somehow target the second monitor?
How do I get the dimensions of the monitor the user is watching the video with if they have dual monitors? If I use this --
mc_videoDisplay.height = (Capabilities.screenResolutionY - 26);
mc_videoDisplay.width = Math.floor(mc_videoDisplay.height * 16 / 9);
it's only using the primary monitor so it's all out of whack if they're watching on the extended monitor.
I have an AIR application that will go full screen when the application starts:
stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE; The stage size is 2560 x 1024. And I have 2 moniters (1280 x 1024 , 1280 x 1024) When I start the application, it shows my application on one of my moniter only.
I need the left side of the stage to be shown in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to be shown in moniter 2. Currently, both sides are shown in moniter 1, and in moniter 2, it shows nothing but my default desktop. *The blue color line is a divider for better visual purpose. How do I make the left side of the stage to appear in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to appear in moniter 2 when the application starts in full screen mode?
Has anyone seen a Flash video player out there that will load and play two videos at the same time, such as for comparing videos? A potential client is looking for something along the lines of this. I've not been able to locate anything out there,and I'm wondering if there's a usability reason for this...Obviously, you wouldn't want the audio playing for both at the same time, and the bandwidth issue for something like this might be a concern too. My feeling is that you wouldn't want to restrict a user to just playing both videos at once, but give them the option to play them separately or at the same time, with controls for each audio and playback.
View 1 RepliesI am using the FlvPlayback class to show movies. The full screen feature works since I am just calling the method defined in the class. My issue is whenever I make it full screen on a computer that has 2 monitors, the full screen flash player always ends up in the primary monitor. When that happens, I notice that the location where the flash player was in the other monitor is empty. How do I prevent this from happening and force the video player to remain in the monitor it was originally in?
View 7 RepliesI'm creating a presentation in Flash that will be projected onto a large screen. I'm using fscommand("fullscreen", true) to make it fullscreen. Since I don't know in advance what type of playback monitor will be used, apparently there may be some issue with the monitor ratio not being 4:3 which would make it widescreen. I was told to make sure the animation etc extends beyond the Stage frame so that it accommodates widescreen but I'm not sure how to do this - I mean how do you know how far beyond the stage to extend things? Since I don't have access to the playback monitor I can't test on it and the presentation will eventually be put onto a CD ROM where viewers may have all types of monitors.
View 1 Repliesi am tryin to make a video player function that goes fullscreen.... and i am using the following code...
on(press)
{
if (Stage["displayState"] == "normal")

I put a lot of work in my flash website that will soon be launch. But now I realize I want it to fit better into the larger wide screen monitors. Is there a way I can make it larger without losing image quality? I know this probably needs to be done in the publishing tool.
View 1 RepliesI am building a flash video player with a custom UI, and admittedly I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing. I tried altering a skin, but that always comes out wonky due to whatever coding they use. So I'm altering single video components and putting them in the mc what I want them. It looks great, but the problem is that when video goes to full screen, all of the controls dissappear and I can't figure out how to make them show up. How do I get a movie clip to display on top of the video when it goes to full screen in flash AS3?
View 1 Repliesim trying to make a game that requires you to have the spacebar and the right arrow key pressed to make the character move. However i just cant seem to link the 2 key presses together. when the keys are pressed individually it works and when theyre pressed together it works but i want the character to be inactive until both are down at the same time :/
i've tried everything that i can think of (which is kinda limited) i thought id cracked it with a 'while' statement but when i tested it flash would throw a fit and close heres the code that flash doesnt like, it looks (to me) like it should work but it clearly doesnt :P
PHP Code:
onClipEvent (load) {
_x = 0;
_y = 0;
}

I like to make a fullscreen desktop application, with an FLV, using the FLV Playback component. However, Id like there to be a Fullscreen button on the playback component, which will allow the user to toggle the video fullscreen.I cant, for the life of me, figure out how to do this with various settingsit should be easy! This is what I have--is there a better way to do things (without a custom movie player)? My inital settings are as follows:
Code:
stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;
theMovie.fullScreenTakeOver = false;
Then I have a function which should work--but my button won't appear in fullscreen--Can I apply this function to the built-in fullscreen button?:
Code:
function handleClick(event:MouseEvent):void
{
if ( !theMovie.fullScreenTakeOver )[code]....
I m streaming a pal signal over FMS, i can get it over a PC or Mac on a Flash Player.is there anybody who know a hardware ti get it out over SDI?
View 1 RepliesI'm still farely new to flash so this my be real easy i make my flash site stay centered in the browser no matter what size screen they are viewing it on....i like the look of a clean centered site not matter what size the screen you view it on.
View 5 RepliesI wanted to make a video player that has normal mode and fullscreen mode. The part I am having trouble understanding is how to handle the video once it gets set to fullscreen. Do I just use the current video or do I get a high quality version of the video to show during fullscreen mode? What would be best practice for this situation?
View 1 RepliesI have a project which has flv videos embedded in it, and when they are full screened using Flash's default player control skins it scales it so the width of the video matches the width of the monitor. Since the video is more square and the monitor is wider, this cuts off the top and bottom of the video.Ideally it would scale it so that it matches the vertical space, and leaves a black bar on the left and right of the video.
View 7 RepliesI'm trying to figure out how to add working links to an FLV video.
Seems like it might be possible to do this in Adobe Encore, but the documentation says: Note: Unless you set up privileges in Flash Player, the URL must be in the same domain as your Flash project.
Can anyone explain how to set up those privileges? I'd like to include active, clickabe links on my video to my site and to other sites that I reference.
I'm building a portfolio full flash site, trying to make a resize to fit with any monitor size. I have two swfs. One main.swf and page.swf as a child which loads within main one.
My problem is when I resize my browser or directly from Flash: main.swf file and resizing with my mouse. The page.swf keeps loading over and over again. I want it loads once and when resize it will fit with size of any browser dimension.[code]...Make resize to fit with any monitor size?
I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having.
I currently have an AIR Application that runs fullscreen.
At some point in the application, I am trying to get a video to play fullscreen as well.

I have a flash video using the FLVPlayback 2.5 container with a customized skin, but nothing crazy I just copied and and changed some colors of an existing skin. I'm using FlashVars to pass in the video location and have a poster frame for a "play" button centered on the video. When you click the screen the poster goes away and comes back when the video ends or it is stopped. All of this works just fine unless it's in full screen. When it goes into fullscreen I can't see the poster frame. I don't know what's going on. When it comes back down to normal size the code is working.I've tried different ways of setting the x, y, width and height, but nothing works. Do I need to set the depth as well??
stage.addEventListener(FullScreenEvent.FULL_SCREEN, onFullscreen);
function onFullscreen(e:FullScreenEvent):void {
myTxt.txt_txt.text = e.fullScreen;
[code]...
I'm having some problems when using full screen on Flash.I have my stage content and also a FLV running I want the whole stage to go fullscreen when I hit the fullscreen button not only the flv.I've tried using the player fullscreen button and also created a button of my own but both of them turn only the movie in fullscreen!
here is the code I used for my button
Code:
// full screen
fullscreen_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fullScreen);
function fullScreen(event:MouseEvent):void {
if (fullscreen_mc.currentFrame == 1){

I would like to know if theres any way to open a webview with a stream flash video on fullscreen. Right now ive the link of the page. This page has some stuff and a flash video. So i wonder if it would be posible to open the webview only with the stream video. In fullscreen or focused on it, without seing anything else. I mean, only the webview with the video, or the whole page, but with the view focused and zoomed so that i could just see the video
View 1 RepliesIm working on a video player, and I have a button for full screen, which function properly, however, the controls that surround it are stretched with the video when full screen is active. So I've been attempting to find ways to detect when fullscreen is active to change the controls, but nothing seems to work. I've used both FullScreenEvent and Event.RESIZE. Everytime, it can detect when it goes full screen (aka a black box is placed on the stage) but when i go back to normal screen, it doesnt detect that activity (and the black box remains).
Please see code below. I am trying to do this all inside a class which i will have an instance of on the main stage.
Code:
import flash.display.*
import flash.utils.Timer;
import flash.events.TimerEvent;
import flash.events.FullScreenEvent;
import flash.display.SimpleButton;
[Code] .....
I need to set up a website with a video as the background.
Will I be able to use z-index to position other elements on top of the video? Is there a better alternative?
I want to make my flash website full screen so there is no white background.What is the easiest way to do this? Here's my website and what it looks like right now. I tried to follow some guys steps but it didn't make it full screen.[URL]
View 1 RepliesIt's with a Flash overlay that has been custom made to overlap a .flv video running in Flowplayer (open source video player at flowplayer.org) The Flash overlay is mostly transparent and just includes a few buttons over top the video to allow visitors to share, email and visit a related website. Take a look here for example:[URL]
The video and Flash buttons work fine when videos are played within Flowplayer at normal size in the browser, but when making it fullscreen using Flowplayer, the Flash overlay plugin does not resize to fullscreen with it. Then, when made regular size again it gets distorted, as you can see from the example.
I know it might involve creating a custom onResize() function, but I haven't figured this out yet with Flowplayer. There are vague instructions & snippets of code here under "Layout management" section on flowplayer . org/documentation/developer/writing-flash-plugins.html
Code:
override public function onResize():void {
/*
set _childButton width according to my new width,
[Code]....
Interesting, but doesn't tell me much of what to do. I have a feeling it might involve making a new .as class in Flash and associating it to the custom buttons overlay .swf. On the right track?
get the overlay to resize using onResize and what code should be used would be very helpful. Others may be also trying to make custom overlay plugins too, and the fullscreen issue would be the next step to know after that and make it look more complete.
I have installed FMS 4.5 successfully. I am able to run all the videos in the index.html page (filmthos.com/flash), including the HLS video on my Iphone. I was able to setup a video player for rtmp and it works fine, but I am having trouble with setting up video players for HLS and HDS. I am looking for somthing simple.
The source file or located in these location: /hds-vod/mvp5/media/MP.mp4.f4m and /hls-vod/mvp5/media/MP.mp4.m3u8 respectively (the httpd.conf location for both is HttpStreamingContentPath "/opt/adobe/fms/applications"). So obviously I want a simple video player for the HDS that plays flash and another to play HLS and HTML5. The index.html seems to cumbersome to fine out how these players work.
Is there a way to embed a .swf file in a webpage and provide a way to make it fullscreen? I'm creating these files with Adobe Captivate, which doesn't seem to provide a way to publish in other usable formats (.avi files are too big, and no .flv is available, to which there seem to have some players around that allow fullscreen).
If there's a way to convert .swf to some other "embedable" format,
How can i make my flash application fullscreen
