Php :: Flash Webservice (remoting) Calls In CS5 Using Flash 10?

I'm finding little info out there on using Flash and remoting services. Currently I'm starting out using AMFPHP which works pretty well for sending back simple sets of data but I'd like to send back complex query types which translate to RecordSets. I have two problems:
1) Is this the way it's currently done? PHP backend with AMFPHP for webservices so my Flash program can access it? Or should I be using a different setup?
2) How do I add the mx.remoting services in CS5? The only docs I find say to add it under Other Panels but I don't have the next area under that in CS5.

I have a Flex 3 application that makes a call to a webservice. That webservice calls returns a 2 Mb file that flex reads and parses. The problem is that it takes sometimes 45 seconds. I was wondering if there is a way to cache the response form the webservice? So the next time I load the flash movie it doesn't have to re-download the full file but just the updated data.

I am trying to load data using flash remoting from a mysql database via php using amfphp, i have an event listener that waits for a combobox to be used and changed, once it does, the data in there should be sent to the backend part of the system via flash remoting using PendingCall and once done should retrieve the data and place it into a second combobox. but it doesn't work.

I'm looking for examples (code) of applications that uses Flash (NOT Flex) and Remoting classes for ActionScript 3 (NetConnection). Once there was ARP, a repository of code of this kind, but it seems there is not anymore. I'm trying to figure out how to build an applications that makes heavy use of calls to WebORB and responders. I need an architect point of view, NOT a sample of communication between parts, but a real world scenario.

url...can anyone see the works? or can't get past the initialising stage? i test on both my mac and pc and it's working, i ask some of my friends to test also... some can view, a few others cannot get pass the initializing stage somehow, it just seems that after the init() and getService it doesn't return the results for those comps which can't get pass the initialising stage.

I've built a application that communicates with Coldfusion cfc functions via Remoting. I've noticed that the NetConnection object disconnects after each call, is this expected behaviour? For some reason I was expecting the NetConnection object to stay connected until I closed it myself (I'm making about 1 request per second and had planned for it to stay open).

I'm building an application that is going to use Flash Remoting very heavily. I'm wondering how I should structure my Service connections. Should I put them in each(several) loaded movies or in the root timeline where any loaded move can access them. The latter would cause issues when trying to test each movie individually. But by putting the Service connections in each movie would require imports needed for FR at the top affecting load time. Also, I'm new to using the moviecliploader. I have a few functioning properly, however, is it wise to try and create a "smart" loader? Meaning use one loader having code to zip when the zip.swf is loaded and zag with zag.swf. Or should I just accept, and get in the habit of using a zip loader and a zag loader separately, meaning each loader simply serve a specific function.

i'm trying to invoke a webservice written in nuSoap from a AS3 Flash app; i've read that,starting from AS3, webservice support has been removed in Flash (really don't understand why...); i've tried thid party solutions (be.wellconsidered, carlo alducente) but they don't work with the wsdl that nusoap generates.

I would like to extend the WebService class in order to add a couple of functions to it. The problem is, when I use the subclass, I get the following message:
'Error opening URL "file:///<PATH WHERE FLA IS SAVED>/undefined"'
The subclass looks like this:

The strange thing is, if I extend the MovieClip class instead of the WebService class, everything is peachy. This makes me think there is something that I am missing, or do not know about the WebService class. The code above is the "I want to get it to load without errors" example. My reasons for extending the class go beyond adding a "foo" property. The WSDL path is to my local machine and therefore not accessible to the masses. Any WSDL should recreate the same results.

How can I consume a webservice that hasn't explicitely created a crossdomain.xml? I understand it's for security and to prevent cross-site scripting, but it does seem like a major limitation to the Flex framework. For example, if I want to consume a webservice, which is suppose to be language agnostic, then I can't with Flex. The webservice/server has to be specifically prepared for Flex/Flash. If it's not, then it cannot be consumed.

I have a Flash Movie (SWF) that is consuming a .NET WebService (located on the same domain) and in my Test environment everything works perfectly (Test env is all HTTP).
When deployed to production (All HTTPS) an issue occurs when trying to access the WebService from the Flash movie.
A new WebService object is created with the HTTPS url passed to it.
myWS = new WebService("https://mydomain/path/to/webservice")
As I watch the HTTP traffic in FireBug I can see the Flash movie making a POST request (passing along the SOAP data) as HTTP (not HTTPS as I would expect). This HTTP requests hits the firewall which forces a 302 Redirect to HTTPS. After this redirect occurs, Flash/Firefox re-sends the request to the HTTPS version of the URL, but as a GET request (thus losing all the SOAP data and making the call to the WebService invalid).
I am trying to figure out how/why a Flash WebService would call a WebService using HTTP even though I am specifically passing it a HTTPS url.

For some reason my flash file is not calling a php file and sending out an email including the data entered in the flash file.
I've taken out other movie clips and graphics to make this easier on everyone.

I've got a website where I want people to be able to upload their own SWFs which are then displayed on the page - mainly for timed image displays etc...I'm concerned about javascript security as flash can call JS functions, theoretically if you knew which JS commands to call (e.g. some AJAX stuff) then external people could do some real damage.So my question is, is there anyway I can disable calling javascript from within flash? Possibly something in the embed object paramaters tags?

I have an alchemy compiled swc which contains methods to perform certain key algorithms. These methods should only return values only if user is authorized(bought license from online service) for security purpose. So I am planning to add another SWC on top of this, which have all the licensing code stuff. But when I import the Alchemy generated swc inside my custom swc, all the methods of alchemy are exposed.

I'm trying to call an function in flash from xml. so I used <a> tag and asfunction. But how come when it calls a built-in function in flash, it works. and when it calls a custom function, it just won't work???
