Process Of Learning Flash To Make A Customized Video Player?

I'm having trouble getting two buttons to do anything. Right now I'm in the process of learning Flash to make a customized video player. I have a rewindButton and a playButton and both have up, over, down, hit assigned but when I run the video and hover over the buttons the mouse changes to a text cursor. No colors change and the buttons aren't clickable.I followed the Flash Video Basics 1 and 2. Also, when I take the // off of the ns play bnc.flv line, the audio echos. I have no idea what's going on.

I'm looking to create a solution that will enable me to have a folder of AVI files on a USB drive, packaged along with a custom designed player (probably built in Flash). I would like to creare the packaged flash file in a way that will autorun on inserting the drive if at all possible. The solution will need to be platform agnostic (hence my thinking that Flash would be the best bet). Has anyone come across a tutorial for achieving anything even similar to the above?

The problem: I have to create a Flash video (in CS3) that will query a MySQL database and display that data at certain points in the video. I've divided this project into two parts: a.) dynamically generate an XML feed from the data using PHP (using an ID number passed in the URL's query string), and b.) be able to work with it in Flash. I've got the first part working, but am pretty lost in Flash. I can parse the XML, but I'm not sure how to set the data up as variables and attach it to a video's cue points.

I would like to make a Flash video player that takes a URL as an attribute when you embed it and loads the video based upon that attribute. All I need for the moment is a play/pause button. How can I do this is AS3? It needs to be able to play F4V filesIf it's simple to make other features, like full screen, showing how much of the video has been loaded on the timeline, or being able to click at any point in the timeline yo jump to that point in the video

I would like to know how fast, flash player processes the Mouse movement? Does it process mouse movement at the same speed as the fps(frames/second) of the flash player .
For example for a function added as a listener to Mouse movement say, stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, mouseMoveListener); Does flash invoke this function 'mouseMoveListener' every time the mouse is moved? Is it done at the same speed at which the Operating system handles mouse move ? Or is it lesser? If so, then by what amount?

I am looking for a very easy way to make a video player which just controled by the scrubbar. I have tried the Componet Seek Bar but that doesn't enable the viewer to scrub the bar. I am wanting to use the Scrubbar Player to view 3d models. At Zbrush they have a Scrubbar player [URL] once there click on one of the pics to view scrubbar turntable viewer. Would love to be able to show my models in this fashion.

I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.

With the Flash Player that comes with CS3 and on my PC XP Pro laptop.I want the player controls to appear at the _bottom_ of the video not on top of the video and not under (behind) the video.
- my video is 640 x 480
- so I modified the "properties" tab at the bottom of the screen to 640x480... (it was 550x400)
- but that just makes everything larger when I click File > Publish
- and then look at the video in Internet Explorer... the Player Controls are still _On Top_ of the video.
I guess I need to learn how to
- Make the stage bigger
- Position the Player controls below the actual video

We have developed flash video player which needs to playe large videos (at least 500 MB videos).We have some issues in the player right now.I am playing a 100 MB + video, it start playing and say it is buffering upto 50% of that video. Then I am closing that page. If I take that video again, it starts downloading from beginning. It never resume downloading from where it buffered previous time. But for small video files, this is looking ok. Is there any size limit a video player can buffer?Is there any better way to play large videos (more than 500 MB). Any other protocol or any other settings in flash player?

We have an ordinary video player built for Adobe Flash Player that streams a video file and plays it on a browser.However some of the video files aren't clear enough that we need additional video filters like sharpness filter while the others may require contrast filter or hue and tint filter due to its color balance.
The question is, is there any feature that are provided by Flash Player's core video component to apply those kind of filters on the fly at client-side?

I want to play FLV video in a flash video player, and at the end of the buffering I want to access the data (video data, or buffered file) so I can manipulate it. For exemple in a ByteArray format so I can save it to local disk... With the NetStream and NetConnection I can play the video without problem, but I can't find a way to access the data. using the URLStream, I can download the video file [URL], and I can access the data I want but I can't play it?
Is there a way to play the URLStream, or to get data from the NetStream?
Or may be, I can access the cache of the browser to get the bufferd data played by NetStream?
