which works correctly on all browsers, until a recent change in the embedding of the swf file. I now use wmode="window" which gives much better performance in IE (previously I used "opaque").When the facebook credits popup appears, the game is now hidden as expected. It returns correctly when the popup is closed. However, on IE (version 9, other versions are untested) the callback is never called.
We are writing app for facebook. It's a game written in flash and embeded with wmode window.We get problem with Firefox 6, but only on Windows XP. When user invoke some facebook dialog (for example: pay dialog or buying more credits dialog) flash disappears. This same happens when user click on notifications (globe icon in top facebook menu) and hold it for a while (however this is not so important).After flash disappears it it still in DOM as <object>.
When setting wmode to "opaque" (or transparent) my flash app becomes slow on Facebook. I can particularly notice it when moving the mouse around (even on a tiny area of the screen), if I don't move the mouse then the slowdown doesn't seem to happen. Maybe its because its sending all events to facebook too?
How do I enforce Flash's wmode=window on Mac? This mode should make Flash reside on a layer higher than normal HTML elements and have better performance. It's working fine on Windows. On Mac, there's strange results. Chrome on Mac will allow HTML elements to cover only non-video elements in Flash. On the other hand, Firefox on Mac will let HTML elements cover anything in Flash. I don't want to allow any HTML elements to cover anything in Flash on Mac.
I'm working on a page that has some ads on it. One of them loads in an ad with wmode=window.I don't have the ability to change that flash code. I need to put a modal box on top of that flash element, but every combination of using z-indexes and iframe shims has failed (both manually and using bgiframe). Is there a way to place html content on top of a flash element with wmode=window? I'm testing this in chrome so far.
I have a customized drag event that works great for most things:
[Code]...
The issue is that when I use this code with wmode=transparent or wmode=opaque the MOUSE_LEAVE event is not detected when the MOUSE_UP event occurs off the stage. Is there a way to detect the MOUSE_LEAVE event when wmode is transparent or opaque? OR Is there a way to detect that the wmode is set to transparent or opaque so that a work-around may be implemented?
I've installed the latest debug version of Flash player plugin for Mac OS X. Diagnostic page [URL] confirms that the version of Flash plugin detected is debugger one. I'am also able to debug applications using Flash-builder debugging tools. But no runtime error pop-ups are shown during browsing. Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone know how to fix this strange behavior?
I've tried to uninstall the player using this application [URL] and reinstall Flash player again, but no luck.
UPD1: I've created additional user account and found out that error pop-ups are displayed successfully when switched to that account. So it's likely user-profile configuration issue.

I am using this command to close a window in flash ms 2004:
Code: MyButton.onRelease = function () { getURL("javascript:window.close();"); }
But when , I click the button that executes this command, it prompts a window asking me if I'm sure I want to close the browser. How can I eleminate this prompt?

I'm using a custom right click context menu for a flash app (overriding the default adobe menu). For this Uza's right click solution [URL] works well.
However, flash player plugin (for Firefox/Chrome etc) has a bug which breaks usage of international characters when its using WMode for the html embed. WMode="widnow" works.

The issue can be seen better here -

I need to capture the right click event fired from Flash player plugin to the web browser container without using WMode on the html embed tag (ie. WMode="window")
I have a really strange problem with calling window facebook login from Flash. On my private server facebook api works like a charm, but in my company, where we use very advanced application in flash and windows server the facebook login doesn't work..
I setup the HTML file correctly, I initialized Facebook.init(.. ..) and I call Facebook.login(.. ..) after clicking a button, but nothing happens, totally nothing, zero reaction.. Because Flash right now doesn't give me any errors...
I have checked the connections, and this is my [URL] and it is connecting very well and I can see in debugging proxy that there are connections in facebook. BUT, at my work in [URL] nothing happens, no responses, and connection in flash is the same like in my labs....
I'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):
I'm using the official Adobe Facebook API in my Flash/AS3 application and for some reason the call the /me/picture seems to fail whereas the the call the /me/friends seems to work just fine: This works OK:
I need to pass a lot of big variables to a browser window, but that window must be opened with Jscript, so it haves fixed size, no scrollbars, no menu and so on.Well, the Jscript window.open fails when i pass too long variables or too many of them. (I think it's for the querystring length, seems to be ok if I pass less variables or shorter ones);here it's my code
on (release) { /*set lot of variables to send*/ jid_artista = _parent._parent.ida;
I found a great tutorial on launching a centered pop up window that kirupa posted and firefox won't execute it correctly or at all. I'm extremely frustrated because I need pop ups for my site to work and now it only functions in internet explorer or safari (mac). The url for the tutorial is [Url]
The way it works is that you have a frame action with the following function:
Ok so first I was having 2 issues with default wmode of "window". My web page navigation menus would go under my flex/flash app. The other issue was when scrolling in the flash app the whole page would scroll.
I changed wmode to "opaque" and this fixed the issue with the navigation menus and so now they show up above the flash app. Thats great but now I dont have scrolling at all in the flash app. I realize this is a big issue out there but I can't seem to find any solutions for solving both(actually 2.5 issues) of these problems.
I would like to A) Have navigation links show up above the flash app so they aren't hidden; B) Allow scrolling within the flash application; and C) Prevent scrolling of the web page if the mouse is over the flash app.
I'm making a Flash game which will be up on Facebook, I'm using Python/Django on the backend but to talk to Facebook. I use the Facebook Flash API. The problem is when I ask for extended permission from the user, using FBML. I get a link which I have to click and get the permission. How can I make sure a popup appears instead of the link. I'm using the following code.<fb:prompt-permission perms="publish_stream">permission</fb:prompt-permission>
I'm trying to determine the practical difference between using the com.facebook.session.WebSession and com.facebook.session.JSSession. The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.
i need to connect to have a button on my website that connects to facebook (if not already logged in) and posts to the users wall.I've only done this from within an iFrame - do i still need AppId etc etc?
I have a facebook application where the user choose 4 of his friends and then it creates a video (swf) with the pictures of your friends in it (loaded via xml). So I need to share this video on the user timeline. Everything works fine but the video is not embedded in the post on his timeline, there is only a post with the link to the page in it.The weird thing is, if I post the url directly on my timeline, the video is embedded, but not if the same link is posted via the application.here is my code called by the share button in js :
function postToFeed() { var obj = { method: 'feed',[code].........
I've recently used the 'Static HTML' application to add autoplaying flash content to a Facebook Page.Nothing too fancy, no sound, and only a few secs long. Now, Facebook say:-"Apps on Pages must not host media that plays automatically without a user's interaction."
What do they mean by 'Media' exactly? I can understand a ban on autoplaying audio content but does the ban extend to something as harmless as an animated GIF? Or more to the point, does an autoplaying .swf file fall under this?
Lastly, what course of action would Facebook take if I did violate this rule? Would they issue a warning (giving me an opportunity to remove the 'offending' item) or would they just shut down my page without any consultation?
I am using uploadify which uses a flash uploader. If the user doesn't have flash installed nothing shows except a blank white page.point me in the right direction of some code to prompt the user to download flash, similar to a <noscript> coding.
I'm making a flash website which has PDF downloads. I would like to know if it is possible to make the 'save' prompt appear rather than opening the PDF when I click the link, if so, how can I do this?At the moment i'm doing this:
Code: var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url); navigateToURL(request, '_blank');
I got Facebook to work with Flash as I wanted it to using the Facebook-Actionscript-Api. Works great and I got get Graph api working so that I'm able to post stuff to ppl's walls using the Facebook.api("/me/feed") post stuff without asking the user permission, as it's already got that permission, and it's great for many occasions. But not all.
I'm using the cs3 combobox control. I want the prompt "Select a City"to persist, but it disappears as soon as you select an item in the list. Does anyone know how to fix this?
