I always use this method and it always work. But today the callback doesn't work!I'm using the API 1_6, but I've tryed with API 1_7 too.
whenever I try to call the removeMovieClip function in a callback handler, it just doesn't work! Maybe I'm tired, or I've just missed something this is apparantly obvious. In my code exert below, is just a simple script that attaches a movie clip to stage (square_mc) and creates a duplicate instance. When the component button is clicked, I want the original movie clip to be deleted, but nothing happens!

My Flash app calls:
Facebook.ui("pay.prompt", data, onPayCallback, "iframe");
which works correctly on all browsers, until a recent change in the embedding of the swf file. I now use wmode="window" which gives much better performance in IE (previously I used "opaque").When the facebook credits popup appears, the game is now hidden as expected. It returns correctly when the popup is closed. However, on IE (version 9, other versions are untested) the callback is never called.
Having a strong C++ background, I wonder how this works in Actionscript :

I have literally spent HOURS trying to solve this mystery... but simply can't seem to get hold of it.
I am using the same code lines (literally!) as the example here (official adobe tutorial) and I get different result.

Everything works fine, i.e. everything till it is time to fire the loggedin event. I get asked to log in and all permissions are asked correctly. After I log myself in to facebook, the loggedin event doesn't fire. Is there any way of solving this problem??
I have a really strange problem with calling window facebook login from Flash. On my private server facebook api works like a charm, but in my company, where we use very advanced application in flash and windows server the facebook login doesn't work..
I setup the HTML file correctly, I initialized Facebook.init(.. ..) and I call Facebook.login(.. ..) after clicking a button, but nothing happens, totally nothing, zero reaction.. Because Flash right now doesn't give me any errors...

View 1 RepliesI'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):

However, the following code running in the same application throws up a popup blocker (again Firefox):
Facebook.ui( "stream.publish", "popup", params );
Does anyone know of a work around this issue to make the share popup come up just like the login popup?
I've had an issue with using Facebook's Share feature.
The user experience on the shared content below is just completely unclear (even when I tested some clarified language: e.g. "click here"). Users simply don't know what to do: they often either click "Like," or they comment with something along the lines of "I support you."
According to the documentation, it is possible to share Flash content in these posts. I'm hoping I can create a "Support" button as an SWF button.
Is it possible to dynamically create such an SWF with a custom *href? Will my use case work on Facebook?
I decided to try to use setInterval for myanimation, which is just a mouse trail.However, I'm trying to get teh mouse trail to be a dynamic mask.In my previous swf this was achieved by using a holder mc with the animation inside and then using this as the mask. But this time I just canpt seem to hit on the right way to get it to work. The code I am using for the mouse trail is:

I'm having a problem, where random IE's are not able to display my .swf file. All the IE's are IE8 with the latest flash pluggins and all security's are set at Medium, however some IE's get just a grey box and other's get the full flash file. What's going on? It works fine in Safari and Firefox of course, but why so much difficulty with AS3 Flash9 in IE? here is a link to the site, and it's the big image changer at the bottom of the front page.

I'm trying to export an animated text image, but for some reason, when I publish in .gif format, the text is all screwed up. I have example of it, in the attached file. It worked for me in flash mx, but in flash cs4 it doesn't work. I want the text to be readable and animated, in this .gif.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to determine the practical difference between using the com.facebook.session.WebSession and com.facebook.session.JSSession. The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.

View 1 RepliesI am a student trying to learn how to take multimedia elements from one class and put them on a webpage using Dreamweaver CS4. From an online tutorial, I created start/stop buttons with ActionScript3 URLRequest to reference a sound file. The swf works fine when played; it plays from the html generated by flash but when I use Dreamweaver CS4 > insert > media > swf and then preview page in browser (firefox), the button doesn't do anything. When I compare the html page generated by flash to the html created by Dreamweaver, they look completely different. I don't have a clue what to do next.

I have Flash CS5 and I'm trying to export SWC from it to use as a library with Flex SDK (FlashDevelop). I have "Export SWC" checked in publish settings and for a while it worked. Now, even if it still is checked, SWC isn't created (at least in the same directory as SWF). I even tried creating a completely new FLA and copied everything from the old library in there. Still it doesn't work.

They asked me to include a flash image on one of our websites. When I try to add text to the stage, I can't make spaces. That is all. I've used flash before and I've never ran into this problem
View 2 RepliesI have a flash form that although it does exactly the same as its html version (just passing variables) doesn't work. It doesn't redirect to the right page, processing the send variabeles and sending a custom email. [code]As you can see it's just a form - no hidden scripts - and sends variables to the correct url.I've turned it into a flash form which is just a button which sends the exact same variables as above, but now the browser isn't redirected to the same page. Although the variables are sent which I can check in Firebug. It doesn't redirect to the same page as the html form and all variables are therefore not processed and no email is sent. The only thing I had to workaround is the variable name 'function' which in AS is a reserved word. Bypassed that by using array notation.It's just like the url the variables are send to can see whether the form is sent through html or flash?[code]

I use flash player WIN 10,1,85,3 Debug enabled. I export swf as 10.1.85 version.
And when I open the flashFirebug I get this: "No SWF files with the O-Minds package found, you should import the O-Minds package into your flash files. For more information visit: o-minds.com/products/flashfirebug"
When I work on my Air Project, I used stop(); to stay in a frame(which is my menu), I built the .air for testing purposes and the frames keep looping, as in, it plays all the frames, and it won't stop as it's instructed to. I'm building my Application in Flash CS5, not Flex.

I have a flash swf file which I don't want people to be able to download and decompile it . my first solution was to load this swf file in another swf file and put the container swf file in my site . but something's wrong . when I load my swf file in another swf file using : myloader.loadMovie ("myswffile.swf");it works fine in my local computer but when I load these two swf files to my server and try to use them there , it doesn't work .

I need to use flash as3 to create a game, and I have tried to use 3 layer to load my swf. My game is in the third layer, and the first and second layers are just a preloader script.My problem is when the game is loaded onto the stage of first layer my KeyboardEvent function is not work until I press the stage.I have try to use Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE to solve it, but I also get a same error.this is my code for preloader

View 10 RepliesI am calling [url]...........to log in to facebook using the actionscript api (as explained in this tutorial: http:[url]...... But, it does not seem to do anything.Looking at the API source, the only call that is made to JS is
ExternalInterface.call('FBAS.init', JSON.encode(options));
The two javascript libraries which are required are: http:[url].....
However, i cannot find any reference to FBAS in these libraries. Am I even using the correct libraries? Is there another reason I have missed as to why FBAS doesnt exist? or even why calling Facebook.init() does nothing?
