View All Code In The Document And Where It Is Stored?
Jul 24, 2009
I inherited a flash file.It uses arrow keys to advance from scene to scene, so I know there is probably some key listener code somewhere. But I can't find the code! Is there a way to view all code in the document and where it is stored? Or is there a document level area for code that I'm not seeing? I just started using CS4 and I'm not sure of all the new features.
We have an AIR client which talks to a WAMP server. We store documents.One of the customer requirement is: they want to their website users to view the documents stored in the AIR application. It should be a read only access. The users will not have our air client installed on their machines. All they do is to check the customer's website.
I have the following code string stored in an XML file:
MovieClip(parent).gotoAndStop(15);
I've imported this to the global var...
globals.data.navtest
...using...
globals.data.navtest = test.toString();
It works fine - if I trace(globals.data.navtest); it outputs MovieClip(parent).gotoAndStop(15); What I want to do now is actually use globals.data.navtest in my Flash project to execute MovieClip(parent).gotoAndStop(15); How do I do that? Do I have to import it as something other than a string, or do I have to code something that tells flash "execute the code that is in globals.data.navtest" ?I want to keep all of the code in the XML tag, so I can change any of it without opening Flash CS4.
i'm making an "EBook" for my GCE in applied ICT and i want to use a Flash handler to view a PDF document. So far i've converted the PDF file to images and Imported them (on the fly encorperating XML). while this was an alright way to work the images become pixelated when zoomed in/out so i was wondering if anyone has done something like this before and if so how they went about it?
How do I view code in Flash CS4? I am wondering if it's even possible but I am new to Flash so I guess anything is possible, haha. I need to fix my actionscript and this is one of the ways I was told to do it was to look at the code first.
I wonder if there is any way to view the Actionscript that is exectued when executing a fla file. Or maybe a tool that would allow me to generate Actionscript through a graphical interface.For example, I create a Flash File and draw a circle.
Is there a way to view the AS 3 code that Flash CS3 is creating? To be a little bit clearer about what I'm asking let me make the parallel with Dreamweaver. If you need to create an HTML table in Dreamweaver you can click the table icon at the top, configure your table, and then you can see in the code window the <table width= height=..> <tr> etc. that has been created dynamically by the software.I know its not a straight forward feature built into Flash or I would have found it but I was wondering if there is some surreptitious way of extracting the code.
I'm building a mobile AIR app using Flash Builder 4.5. The initial view in my views package is TestHomeView.mxml. I want to refer to it in one of my .as classes elsewhere in the app, and I'm not sure how to do that.
Theoretically I should be able to add an "id" attribute to TestHomeView.mxml, but FB gives me an error: "id is not allowed on the root tag of a component". The root tag is s:view.
The reason I need to do this is that within another class I make various calculations and then need to pass an array of values to a component in my view class. So in SomeOtherActionScriptClass.as I first assemble the array, myArray, and then in that class I want to do this:
myViewComponent.viewArray = myArray;
If I'm going to do that, I also need to import the view class into the .as class, which strikes me as weird. So is there a simple way to do what I want, or do I have to dispatch a custom event which contains the array, and listen for it in the view class?
EDIT - Based on the below MVC suggestion I did the following in model:
[Bindable] public class Model { private static var myModel:Model;//doesn't let me name it 'model' because
[code].....
But it is coming back null. It isn't null when I put a breakpoint in the Model class, but when I try to access it from the view class, it's null. The model itself isn't null, but that variable is.
I was editing a very basic mobile Flex project, and after I debugged the master (application) mxml file, Design View stopped working (blank screen displayed, no Design View errors) for all files. Creating new projects, either mobile or else, or testing old, working projects, doesn't work either. Out of the related issues I've found info on, most concern earlier versions of the IDE, and deal with either Design View errors (got none), use of certain functions or custom components (I get the error even on a new project), or are solved by changing styles back-and-forth (tried already, to no avail).
I can't drag and drop components to the design area, either (a "prohibited" symbol appears and nothing happens when I drop); so I'm pretty sure it's not code-related or a bug, but probably something stupid, like a configuration issue, so I definitely need someone to take a fresh look at it.
the first code (which I put into a frame) is somehow in conflict with my document class.I get these error messages:
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: URLRequest 1180: Call to a possible undefined method URLRequest. 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method navigateToURL
But when I only use that code and unlink the document class it works. So there must be somehow a conflict between the two, but I have no idea how to integrate this code into my document class -I already tried it but the error messages keep coming, probably I didn't do it right.
code in frame:
Actionscript Code: btn_contact.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, contactClickHandler);function contactClickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("../Subpages/SubpageContact.html"); navigateToURL(url, "_top");}
This is the file before the move [URL]... when you click the contact us button it should dissolve now I get:
ArgumentError: Error #2005: Parameter 0 is of the incorrect type. Should be type IBitmapDrawable. at flash.display::BitmapData/draw()at WebSite/$construct/gotoContact()[C:AS3projectsfullBrowserscaleVid WebSite.as:65]
here's the code: the offending code is in bold everything but the pixel dissolve works as before com is the instance of flvPlayback component that's on stage at author time there is nothing else on stage at author time and no action script in the flv
This will probably seem a moronic question, but I've only been using Actionscript for about a week... Either way, I've written a very long and complicated (8500 lines w/ autoformat) code for a game I've decided to program. The game is functional, the AI can respond to outside inputs etc, and I know reasonably well how to use SharedObjects.
What I'd now like to do is make a menu system surrounding my game that can pass variables in and out of this existing program. The program is currently in the shapely form of a Document Class, meaning the code runs on load. I'd prefer if there was a way to simple make the code run upon being called. How would I best do this? The only inputs presently used are keyboard inputs...
I've written a game in Flash using timeline code like this:On the main timeline:
Code:
stop(); include "includes/mySourceCode.as"; init();
Then,in mySourceCode.as I have a set of functions (including init(), of course).I know this technique of coding is frowned upon by many,but it was what I learned when I started out with Flash and it has always worked well for me. It also means I don't usually have to bother with importing classes to make most methods work as I guess they are all 'built in' to the main timeline already.
The problem I have now is that I have got the game sponsored, and the sponsor needs me to include his preloader, which is a document classfile.So I have his preloader working, and once loaded it tells the main timeline to proceed to the next frame, where I have my usual code as above - which now doesn't work.Firstly, it can't find my include files because it is now looking in the document class folder instead of the main .fla folder it usually looks in.Secondly, once I have moved my include files to the same folder as the document class, it gives me around 70 errors about undefined properties and methods, and things not being'compile time constants' whatever that means.
I am guessing that for some reason, since there is now a document class, Flash is no longer importing all the classes it usually does automatically for me - so could it be that I need to go through my whole game and figure out the class import paths for all the methods I have used? Or is there an easier way to get my code working how it was before without having to change it? If I do impoort all the right classes, should it work then or will I still face problems?
I'm trying to hunt down some kind of class conflict I seem to be having when using TweeLite easing and found out the same code that errors in a document class works fine if I place it in the timeline. Example - this works in frame one of the timeline:
I had some code directly in the timeline that accessed/modified properties of some movie clips. I then did the proper thing and moved the code to a Document class. I put the code that was formerly in the timeline into the document class constructor.
The issue I'm having is that if I access the movie clip properties "too soon" it reports that they are null. If I put the code in a timer event callback for half a second or so, or put an addFrameScript call with a frame of around 8 or higher, the movie clip references are valid and it all works.
So for some reason by the time the code in the timeline gets called all of the movie clip instances are valid. However, when inside of a document class constructor, they are not. I've tried using the ENTER_FRAME event callback but the movieclips still aren't ready.
The code is supposed to change some movie clip properties based on some loaderinfo parameters, so I do kind of need to set those properties before anything starts animating.
I'm learning how to work with a document class. Using the class below, I am learning that this initiates immediately when running the Fla. The problem is that the "scrol" Movieclip is not present in the first frame, which is a menu with a list of topics. Scrol comes later in and is in it's own section/frame label and goes to that section when selected from the main menu of topics.
Is there a way I could call this action only when the Movieclip is present or when that section is shown? Also, I'd like to apply it to other movieclips, not just scrol. Underneath se = new SwipeEngine(scrol,400,0); can I just add a duplicate line but change the mc name? A possible concern is that the mcs may be different sizes in length and might not need to scroll as far.
I am trying to find out why when I place trace(parent); in the timeline of my child swf I get [object Loader]but if i place trace(parent); in the constructor of the child swf's document lcass I get null.Why is this and how would I access the parent swf from the child document class if it shows as null?
coder dudes I need help on some actionscript 3. Im trying to move a piece of code from the timeline into the document class. Here is the timeline code:
import Memory.MemoryGame; // Add memory game var memoryGame:MemoryGame = new MemoryGame(this, "settings.xml");
Here is my attempt at moving it into the Document class:
I have been working on a charting flex document listing repository statistics for work and it can be seen here -http [url]...orialJorum.swf Unfortunately,my hard drive died last week and the MXML source files were wiped(I know I should have backed it up). As I cant really afford paying $80 to decompile to get the MXML script, I wondered if anyone could do it for me as I put many hours into that piece of work. I have tried using the demo version of SWF Decompiler and Trillix but unfortunately they only give you the component code and not the <script/>
I have a little problem in my game. I have a var coins:int = 0; on frame one, and I want to access it from frame 2. I'm not using a document class. Is it possible to make some kind of a global variable like in as2 without having to put all my code from the main timelime to a document class?
I'm about to have to write a web page/app that will serve the agenda for circa 100 people on a page. One line per person, one column per day with 3 clickable zones in each cell. In HTML, the page is way complex for the browser to load quick and there is no possibility to click on a border between 2 cells to for example split an event that spreads among several cells. So I search an not too overkilling technology to render this kind of view. I begun with a PHP generated HTML page but the number of elements in the page make the mouse move jerky.
Moving to JAVA would give me better performances regarding the reuse of the generator of the view but it will still be an HTML page. So, here is my question: do you think that going forward with JAVA and its graphical capability is the simple solution or is Flash a better option for this part of a Web App? I'm afraid of the code I'll have to write in JAVA to handle the GUI presentation as well as the events generated by the 1000's cells plus borders of the page. In Flash, the graphical part seems simpler even if the actions handling is still huge.
I'm currently using RobotLegs with the Presentation Model pattern to develop a Flex 4 project. I understand that all business logic related to a View resides in the Presentation Model associated with that view, however, I am confused when it comes to View specific logic.For example, I have an indicator that needs to be positioned relatively to list items depending on which list item is selected. Is it acceptable in the Presentation pattern to put the logic that will position the indicator in the View and simply have that logic run in reaction to a selectedIndex property changing in the presentation model?The reason I am considering this is that since the Presentation Model does not have a reference to the view it is difficult to come up with an ideal solution for manipulating view components.
I am wondering how to make a 360º view bubble, like they use for Google Street View, but have no idea how to go at accomplishing this task... i have the string of photos that i attached in photoshop(so that if you connected the left to the right it would be a full 360º view).
I am using Flash CS4 AS3.. When I open my browser "Internet Explorer 7" it opens normal. But When I open a link using the following Flash code it opens half in length and half in width. I need to click on "Maximise" button to view in full. How to solve the problem? It is our Intranet link.
I have one .mxml file (the Application) with a ViewStack (with 4 views) and a ControlBard, obviously I can change the views with it, but what I want to do is: in view #1 I have an image which I want to convert to a "hyperlink", so when I click it I go to View #2, is this doable? Also I would like to pass somehow some data (like a String) to that View #2 (lets say the it's a user avatar I click so I want to go to the second view which will show me his profile, that's why I need his name/id).
My problem is that when I try to pass an object from the navigator.pushView(view, dataobject), I can't figure out how to access the dataobject from actionscript. I can access {dataobject.property} from MXML easily, but I want to set a variable in the new view to the passed dataobjects property.
in flash, I encounted a source file that is cropped and I cannot move it, is there some sort of cropped view in flash I dont know about? I cannot find anyinformation about it, it has rulers displayed as far as I remember.
Basically you cannot move in the file to edit anything viewpoint wise, everything outside of the movie area is invisible and not there? As if cropped.
Can I set the style of another document from it's parent document? At the moment its giving me the error 1119: Access of possibly undefined property StyleManager through a reference with static type DesignCardForm.
