AS3 :: Can't Retrieve A Facebook User's Friends List?
Apr 20, 2011
i am trying to write a facebook app using as3 and the facebook-actionscipt graph api library i am having trouble getting a user's friends list, while i have no problem getting a user's other data (favorite movies, for example)
[code]...
ok after doing some more searching i find that getting friends-of-friends with any api is impossible this is very interesting - you can access friends-of-friends manually as a facebook user, but not automaticallythis means it is not a privacy issue at all - it is something Facebook wants to keep for itself only - for the "People You May Know" section in the facebook page
Is it possible to get a friendslist in that dialog, like you get when making a apprequest? Facebook.ui("apprequests", data, postOnFriendsWallCallback, "popup"); Or is there another way to have the user choose one or more of his friends and posting a message on their wall using fb dialogs?
how to get the user status, but the app I currently working on need to get user's friends statuses. Can I do this without needing user's friends to approve the app? I still can't find how to to this in the graph API.
How can I add in my facebook application invite friends. First of all I use actionscript, in order to handle invite issue I searched so many sites but I've got nothing, cuz facebook doesn't support invite actions. then I learnt that javascprit can handle this, however I couldn't find anything valuable about that
I'm absolutely new to programming and just managed to learn the basics of ActionScript 3. Now, I would like to learn how to post on my Friends' Walls via the as3 SDK using the UI class (taken from a nice Tutorial):
Is there any way to get the sum of items based on some filters from sharepoint list? I was trying to access the GetListItems method. But this returns all the items in the list. That makes the data heavy. My requirement is to get only the sum of items. For example items created in a specific year.I am trying to populate a chart in flex from the sharepoint list. Accessing all the items and then calculating the sum in flex will not work always where the list contains more items.
I have this code where the player can set their volume; var my_sound:Sound = new Sound(); my_sound.loadSound("C://Documents and Settings/me.my-comp/My Documents/My Music/Unknown Artist/Unknown Album (8-09-2004 10-55-17 AM)/my_song.mp3", true); this.createEmptyMovieClip("knob_mc", this.getNextHighestDepth(),0,0,140,64); knob_mc.left = knob_mc._x; knob_mc.right = knob_mc.left+100; [Code] ..... OK, now the catch, this code works fine, however, how would I make it possible for the volume level to be retrieved in another frame and all the sounds in that frame are played at the set volume??
I am getting a mysterious result when trying to load profile images from a logged in Facebook user's friends list into an as3 canvas app. In pretty much every (non-facebook) application I've made where loading an image is required I use the following:
private function loadPic():void { var url:String = Facebook.getImageUrl(_friendslistObjectArray[_loadCount].id); _picLoader = new Loader();[code]............
I can't retrieve the image from the event object,and I am given no error at all.It all just fails silently.If I remove the line var image = evt.target.content, the process runs through the whole array.I can't think of any reason this would occur. Furthermore, if I look in firebug's net activity, I see I see the images get loaded as long as I do not have the line I just mentioned included. I just can't seem to get the image data from the event object to add it to stage or a container movieclip.
I didn't find a recent question so somethign might have changed:
there is any widget, ready to use, to integrate with my website in order for my users to take a picture of themselves ala Facebook when they register to my site? i guess is Flash/flex based
I'm building an AIR desktop app with facebook support using Adobe Flash builder. So far it's working alright, except for one detail, once a user logs in, that session stays open, even if the logout button is pressed. My logout code look like so:
protected function logout():void { FacebookDesktop.logout(handleLogout, APP_ORIGIN); }
I set APP_ORIGIN to "[URL]". I checked Adobe's documentation and they say: appOrigin:String (default = null) ” (Optional) The site url specified for your app. Required for clearing html window cookie. But I don't know what that means, what is the 'site url specified by my app'? Where do I get it? Sorry if this is a noob question.
Lately I've been studying (or at least I've been trying to) the facebook api for flash. But I can not find good material or code examples. I've been reading this [URL] but there I can't find what I need. I just need to make possible for new users to loggin into my game (it's a MMO - sfs 2 + as3) with their facebook accont. Anyway the problem is that with this documentation I can't find not even how to get the user name properly. I'm completely lost and don't know what to do.
I'm starting a facebook app using iframe method.I am using flex and so far I am able to connect to fb (login and out). Now I am trying to retrieve current logged in user name. In the document I see this function is what I need. Facebook.getSession().A tutorial in adobe site uses desktop api and it works for desktop (AIR app) but not for web app. (yes, i fixed Facebook.getSession() instead of FacebookDesktop.getSession(); Also, I am able to see the uid but not the user. User returns null. uid is a string and user is an object. But on the desktop app,FacebookDesktop.getSession().user.name returns the name perfectly. but on the web, it does not.
All I want is to have the latest 3 or so posts from my clients Facebook page to populate and animate in a screensaver that I am building using Flash (AS3).
So far, every time I try to bring anything in, it requires a complete oAuth login and account link, but it's only a one way exchange (read-only, absolutely no writing, posting or even linking, since it's a screensaver) I'm not even sure the client wants pictures or anything.
I am currently trying to use the facebook-actionscript-api, but there isn't an option for the "App Login" type of Authentication that would solve most of my problems.
I have a button that the user clicks for the purpose of inviting a friend to the app.I understand that this can be done via the js sdk: http[url].....However I am already using the facebook_as3_api, and I would prefer to avoid using multiple facebook api's. Does the facebook_as3_api have a way of doing this, and if not, why not?
I've a flash facebook application, i can take the session info from flash client and send the session information to server.
I need to check if the user connected to the server via facebook application or not. That's why i need to get the user's session from facebook page directly by my server.
How can i do it? I use C# for all database and communication system. Flash interface does only application responsibilities.
Is there a way for a Flash Facebook app in an iFrame to detect if the user is a fan of the page using the Graph API for Actionscript 3? If not can I achieve the same goal using Javascript? without asking the user for permission (no access token required).
I can't set a picture as a user-created page wallpaper and i also cant "like" this same page using a Facebook Desktop Graph API request.how to use the Facebook Graph API for AS3 to change the wallpaper on a user created page and also set the "like" status for that page of a user? Is this even possible?
I'm developping a flash photo gallery with deeplink and i would like to enable the user to share the photos on their facebook wall. I tryied to find some tutorials explaining how to achieve that but unfortunatly I had no luck. The ones I found don't enable me to customize the wall post (these fields: title, description, url and image)
I'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):
I'm almost certain this is possible, but am not sure how to go about it.
Basic idea: User visits a website using a HTTP/socks proxy. Hidden .swf file is embedded on the site which, when loaded by the client, sends data back to the web server, and that allows the IP to be logged along with a corresponding session ID of some sort which ties the proxy IP and the true IP together.
My question is how would I go about doing this in flash? I've searched for examples, but all I've managed to find on the subject is people claiming that it's possible to do.
I'm having trouble retrieving the value of a multi-select list component. It always traces the last value selected, but I need to trace all values to parse the data.

Is there any way to tell which item a user selects from a List? I already have a "change" event listener, but that doesn't tell me WHICH item was clicked (at least, I don't think it does.)
[edit: forgot the XML part...the list is generated from an xml file:]
