View 1 RepliesI have a facebook application where the user choose 4 of his friends and then it creates a video (swf) with the pictures of your friends in it (loaded via xml). So I need to share this video on the user timeline. Everything works fine but the video is not embedded in the post on his timeline, there is only a post with the link to the page in it.The weird thing is, if I post the url directly on my timeline, the video is embedded, but not if the same link is posted via the application.here is my code called by the share button in js :
function postToFeed() {
var obj = {
method: 'feed',[code].........
I'm building an AIR desktop app with facebook support using Adobe Flash builder. So far it's working alright, except for one detail, once a user logs in, that session stays open, even if the logout button is pressed. My logout code look like so:
protected function logout():void {
FacebookDesktop.logout(handleLogout, APP_ORIGIN);
}
I set APP_ORIGIN to "[URL]". I checked Adobe's documentation and they say: appOrigin:String (default = null) ” (Optional) The site url specified for your app. Required for clearing html window cookie. But I don't know what that means, what is the 'site url specified by my app'? Where do I get it? Sorry if this is a noob question.
I have a facebook canvas app (flash).
I have a user who is visiting the app.
I have a button that the user clicks for the purpose of inviting a friend to the app.I understand that this can be done via the js sdk: http[url].....However I am already using the facebook_as3_api, and I would prefer to avoid using multiple facebook api's. Does the facebook_as3_api have a way of doing this, and if not, why not?
I've a flash facebook application, i can take the session info from flash client and send the session information to server.
I need to check if the user connected to the server via facebook application or not. That's why i need to get the user's session from facebook page directly by my server.
How can i do it? I use C# for all database and communication system. Flash interface does only application responsibilities.
I'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):
var permissions:Array = ['publish_stream'];
Facebook.login( onFacebookLogin, { perms:permissions.join(',') } );
However, the following code running in the same application throws up a popup blocker (again Firefox):
Facebook.ui( "stream.publish", "popup", params );
Does anyone know of a work around this issue to make the share popup come up just like the login popup?
How do I add a widget to Facebook wall? So when a user clicks on wall post, it gets opened there only, like YouTube video/audio.
It's certainly possible, as Slideshare app [URL] does it.
And, I see that it's a Flash component. I have an iframe (Javascript/html) widget.
How can I send a message to the currently logged in user from inside a Flex application contained in a Facebook iFrame and using the official AS3 Library for Facebook?
View 2 RepliesI know that we can make application using Adobe air that will run on mobile, desktop and web environments. Can we deploy same application on facebook? like we do with other flash applications.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to duplicate the behaviour of the "Share on Facebook" button from Youtube. Basically, inside a Flex app I'll have a button and when I click it I want a popup that enables me to post something on the wall. While it is possible to make a call to javascript to open the pop-up I want to be able to set the images and the text of my posting. How I could set the images or text as a parameter to the sharer window?
View 3 RepliesI've followed the Adobe tutorial on how to make a Facebook App with Flex.
If I access the page from the server, everything works.[URL]..But when I access it trough the facebook app [URL]..I get the following error:
The page cannot be displayed The page you are looking for cannot be displayed because an invalid
method (HTTP verb) was used to attempt access.try the following:Contact the Web site administrator if you believe that this request should be allowed. Make sure that the Web site address displayed in the address bar of your browser is spelled and formatted correctly.HTTP Error 405 - The HTTP verb used to access this page is not allowed.Internet Information Services (IIS)Technical Information (for support personnel)
Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the words HTTP and 405. Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for topics titled Setting Application Mappings, Securing Your Site with Web Site Permissions, and About Custom Error Messages.
I'm currently learning to make facebook apps with Flex from here:[URL] I've done step 6 in "Upload the application to your web server" section which is to upload the Flex files in bin-debug folder via FTP and run it, but the facebook apps just doesn't show on the webserver I use. here is where I uploaded the files:[URL]I can't locate the problem, is it because the webhosting or what?
View 2 RepliesIn an application I have created (web) I need to list out my facebook friends within a canvas (or any container) along with their profile pictures.
I am using Flash Builder 4.5. I have also managed to set up AIR app (using the samples) so I am not sure if I am on the right track.
The requirement is :
When each user logs into the site his/her friends list should appear in the frame along with the friend's profile pictures.
I have a Facebook application that has a picture gallery. It's build in Flex 4. I want to allow users to link to a specific image. How can that be done?
The only way I see this being done is adding a GET var like &my_picture=asd.jpg in the Facebook page URL, but I don't know how to read that from the iFrame.
I'm trying to determine the practical difference between using the com.facebook.session.WebSession and com.facebook.session.JSSession. The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.
View 5 RepliesI have literally spent HOURS trying to solve this mystery... but simply can't seem to get hold of it.
I am using the same code lines (literally!) as the example here (official adobe tutorial) and I get different result.

Everything works fine, i.e. everything till it is time to fire the loggedin event. I get asked to log in and all permissions are asked correctly. After I log myself in to facebook, the loggedin event doesn't fire. Is there any way of solving this problem??
i need to connect to have a button on my website that connects to facebook (if not already logged in) and posts to the users wall.I've only done this from within an iFrame - do i still need AppId etc etc?
View 1 RepliesI've recently used the 'Static HTML' application to add autoplaying flash content to a Facebook Page.Nothing too fancy, no sound, and only a few secs long. Now, Facebook say:-"Apps on Pages must not host media that plays automatically without a user's interaction."
What do they mean by 'Media' exactly? I can understand a ban on autoplaying audio content but does the ban extend to something as harmless as an animated GIF? Or more to the point, does an autoplaying .swf file fall under this?
Lastly, what course of action would Facebook take if I did violate this rule? Would they issue a warning (giving me an opportunity to remove the 'offending' item) or would they just shut down my page without any consultation?
I can't find in the Adobe Facebook API how to log the user out of Facebook. The FacebookSessionUtil (and the related sessions and Facebook classes) all have a .logout() function, which will invalidate the user's current *session* within the swf, but it doesn't log the user out of Facebook.
What am I missing here? How are you supposed to log the user out of Facebook with this API? Since it's part of the TOS for Facebook Connect apps, you'd think this would be available in the API somewhere.
i have seen in flash game that it retrive user's friend in same application.How is possible.I searched the code but i have not found yet.
View 2 RepliesAfter I upload a photo on a desktop facebook application i need to store it's post id in a database. From the facebook ActionScript SDK documentation:pi() methodpublic static function api(method:String, callback:Function, params:* = null, requestMethod:String = GET):voidMakes a new request on the Facebook Graph API.Parameters [...]callback:Function — Method that will be called when this request is complete The handler must have the signature of callback(result:Object, fail:Object); On success, result will be the object data returned from Facebook. On fail, result will be null and fail will contain information about the error.
So I implemented my callback function as follows:
protected function handleUploadComplete(response:Object, fail:Object):void{
status = (response) ? 'Success' : 'Error';

I didn't find a recent question so somethign might have changed:
there is any widget, ready to use, to integrate with my website in order for my users to take a picture of themselves ala Facebook when they register to my site? i guess is Flash/flex based
i am trying to write a facebook app using as3 and the facebook-actionscipt graph api library i am having trouble getting a user's friends list, while i have no problem getting a user's other data (favorite movies, for example)
[code]...
ok after doing some more searching i find that getting friends-of-friends with any api is impossible this is very interesting - you can access friends-of-friends manually as a facebook user, but not automaticallythis means it is not a privacy issue at all - it is something Facebook wants to keep for itself only - for the "People You May Know" section in the facebook page
Can I get the user wall status in Facebook using as3? Using me/feed/...something ?
View 1 RepliesLately I've been studying (or at least I've been trying to) the facebook api for flash. But I can not find good material or code examples. I've been reading this [URL] but there I can't find what I need. I just need to make possible for new users to loggin into my game (it's a MMO - sfs 2 + as3) with their facebook accont. Anyway the problem is that with this documentation I can't find not even how to get the user name properly. I'm completely lost and don't know what to do.
View 1 RepliesI'm making an air-application in flash professional using actionscript. I was wondering if any of you know how (or if it's even possible) to use facebook to log in to my application. I found some stuff on the web, but I only found stuff to HTML, not actionscript.
View 1 RepliesI've come up with a flash game and wish to deploy it on facebook. Problem is, I am not sure where to start!
I've done some research and found out something about needing an external server to host my flash application but I'm still pretty much lost.
So can anyone tell me what are the basic steps to deploying my flash application to facebook?

But what is the trick to enable flash fullscreen in facebook application ?
I need to embed a flash application(that will access FB API from within) in Facebook Canvas page.If I use , some FB related details(like session key) will be automatically passed to the flash. But since, FBML is going to be deprecated, I want to use iFrame. Is there any way to pass those variable automatically or do I have to retrieve them in PHP and pass it to flash through loadvars?Also, if I have to do it manually, is there any documentation for the php sdk 2.1 ? (already searched about it a lot, and I think there is no doc nor tutorial for 2.1)
View 3 RepliesI tried to make a facebook app, but I failed. I have no idea how to use my flash content. I tried to make a new app with Fbook Developers, I uploaded the animation as an HTML file on my server, but it's not working. All i see is a blank page. Then I searched some codes, but none of them worked. This is my final code (which is still not working)[code]...
