I have a Facebook application that has a picture gallery. It's build in Flex 4. I want to allow users to link to a specific image. How can that be done?
The only way I see this being done is adding a GET var like &my_picture=asd.jpg in the Facebook page URL, but I don't know how to read that from the iFrame.
I cant pass the query string while using the debugger or else i cant debug when there is a query string. how to use the bothAm using a web application in flex using php for ex : [URL]

However, I tried to make a facebook iFrame app using the same setup, all I get is the Alternative Content Text [URL]
View 2 RepliesBy far the weirdest thing I've ever seen. On some machines (!) IE (!!) attempts to load an SWF file via HEAD request instead of GET. This happens only when the page is running in Facebook IFRAME application - when running solo works fine. Naturally, on FF and Chrome everything works just fine. The SWF is embedded using jSWFObject. There's no visible common feature to the machines which experience this problem - laptops, desktops, XP, Vista, 7.

We have implemented a Flash photo slideshow on our site and it works just fine for most of our users. Whenever the xml.load(success) returns false I have the Flash email me a debug report. For the life of me I can not find a common thread between all of these people having problems with the Flash. I don't think it's a cross-domain issue because it works for most people, and I have the crossdomain.xml files where they should be.

View 2 RepliesI need to run a query and convert the results to an XML string. I *think* I need to do all of this in PHP but I wanted to get some guidance as sometimes I make things more difficult than necessary.
Do I have 2 scripts... one to query and one to process the results to XML? Or can I put them both in the same script. To do the latter is not proper OOP practice, correct?
Once that is done, I can get the data into Flash. I need it to be XML though because the same data is being used elsewhere outside of Flash.

I am trying to add the a Facebook iFrame to my Flash website. Since there is no real way to actually integrate the Facebook iFrame into the website, I was thinking of simply trying to overlay the iFrame on the Flash website. This is done fairly easily from what I understand but have another issue. I want to be able to disable the iFrame when I select a button on my Flash website. Is this at all possible. Any other routes I could consider?

View 1 RepliesI have a facebook application where the user choose 4 of his friends and then it creates a video (swf) with the pictures of your friends in it (loaded via xml). So I need to share this video on the user timeline. Everything works fine but the video is not embedded in the post on his timeline, there is only a post with the link to the page in it.The weird thing is, if I post the url directly on my timeline, the video is embedded, but not if the same link is posted via the application.here is my code called by the share button in js :

I'm trying to duplicate the behaviour of the "Share on Facebook" button from Youtube. Basically, inside a Flex app I'll have a button and when I click it I want a popup that enables me to post something on the wall. While it is possible to make a call to javascript to open the pop-up I want to be able to set the images and the text of my posting. How I could set the images or text as a parameter to the sharer window?

I am building an application in Flex Builder 3. Yes, I know that it has an auto-magic feature to build datasheet, but that will not work. I see many Flex controls, such as combo box, can take an array as a data source.
My question, therefore, is (1) How do I send the request from my action script to my PHP form to request a record set. (2) Presuming that my dataset is in a PHP assoc array, how do I format it to send it back to Action Script. (3) How do I take the data received from the recordset, and put it inot an actionscript array, suitable for use as a data source.
I can connect to my database in PHP, and query it just fine, so I don't need help with that. For consistency, and humor, lets presume that I have the following data in an assoc array that I pulled from a database.
