ActionScript 1/2 :: Create A Video Player For Embedded FLV?
Aug 22, 2011
So I want to embed a FLV in my flash so that I just have ONE SWF that contains everything.
I know if I say "load external video with playback component" I will end up with a swf, html and the flv- this is NOT what I want so please don't ask me why I'm not using this option. "Embed FLV in SWF and play in timeline" is EXACTLY what I want- the result is just a single SWF.
Here is the question: How do I get a video player if I embed a FLV in flash?
I know if I load the video external I will get some nice players - exactly what I want. How do I get a player if the video is embedded? Are there any coded player templates on the net?

I am looking for a video player that can be embedded in a webpage and can play .swf files. I have tried Strobe Media Playback but it has a lot of bugs to it for .swf.
I have big element at the top of the webpage that sides down with jQuery when a button is clicked. However, if the first post on the blog is a flash video, it shows up on top of the menu. Z-index doesn't help in this instance.
The only way I know how to create a video object for playing progressive FLV is by going to the libraby panel and clicking the context menu, then new Video, and dragging the video object to stage. But I would like to know if there is way to create a Video object with actionscript at runtime.
i am trying to create a video player in AS 2.0, but I have a problem.My code loads a video, and plays the video, but.... I don't see my video xD.This is my code :
ActionScript Code: var connection:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); connection.connect(); var flux_video:NetStream = new NetStream(connection);
anyone knows how to implement a skipable video player la youtube ? What i mean with skipable is to be able to seek forward into the stream before i downloaded the whole video.
1) I've created a URLLoader object called loader to load an XML at [url]...
2) When the load is complete it triggers onLoaded which iterates through the feed and adds each item into an array called arrayVariable.
This array is designed so that for any particular i called in variableArray[i] it is possible to access things like the object's title, description, link to FLV and a thumbnail.
3) Once complete, it then fires up createMatrix which sets the initial x, y information and page references so that there is a grid once they've been added to the displayList.[code]...
I am trying to create a video player with a play list. I attempted to follow the tutorial at UrL...but couldn't get my customized player to work. I have a feeling there is something that needs to be tweeked with my AS but I'm not really sure because I am not a big programmer (more of a designer).URL...[code]
I'm trying to create an flv player to play a single video from a website. I can't seem to resize the playback window. Altering the width just seems to move the same small window around the screen.
Ideally I'd like it to go full-screen or at least fill the browser window. However, I don't even seem to have basic control at the moment. What am I doing wrong here?
Also, (and maybe this is related), I couldn't import fl.video.* in Flex Builder without placing the component first in my library resource using Flash. Is it possible to bypass this step and import directly in Flex Builder?
I'd like to gain read only access to the following parameters of embedded Flash videos located on sites that I do not own through my own custom browser extension/add-on:
Time location of playback head (so I can display the current time in the browser extension via HTML5/JavaScript) Frames (so I can make capture them to an image file, save it and display image in browser extension) Original Dimensions in pixels (so I can display the original video dimensions via JS/HTML5 in browser extension)
Is this possible by using Javascript and HTML5 from a browser extension?
Would I have to use something like the SWFObject Javascript API [URL]
I want to create a custom video player to modify the skin of the play controls etc but still host the videos on youtube.The youtube api allows for minor colour adjustments but not full customisation. I know it would be possible if I download the FLVs but i want the video to remain hosted on youtube.
Is there any way I can create a slider on my desktop to access some of the controls of the YouTube Video player like volume, pause, play, playback speed? I know it is a flash player, but would this involve accessing the YouTube API or something else? For example, I'd like to program something similar to what's provided by the Enounce MySpeed application (control over play back speed).
I have trouble in choosing between external video with playback component and embedded video . I have tried adding video to dynamic page and everything is perfect .This video I have imported using the option File ->import video -> external video with playback component. If I try to execute flv on another system , the video is not playing eventhough it is in library.
So, I have imported video using the option of embedded video and this worked fine on another systems as it embeds video. The video plays for only 2 min 54 sec. I have compressed the bit rate to how much ever I can in premier pro. It resulted in reducing the size of the file but still I see the video occupying more than 3500 frames in the timeline. I feel this is not optimal.
I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.
I have a player for sound files (Fabricio Zuardi) which is very nice, easy to work with and easy to texturize. It works with a xml list. What I did was to load the swf file of the player into my main file of the website (also flash). The thing is that i can see the titles of the songs but the player won't work. Here's the as file.
I am working on a webpage where i have to include an embedded video.The video is hosted on some other domain.I am able to embed the video and autoplay once the web page is loaded.However i have a requirement where i have to remove the div displaying the video once it is played , and in place of the video i have to now display some text.
The problem is i am able to do autoplay by the autostart variable in the embed tag...but how do i know that the video has ended.The hosting company only provides an embed tag and they donot have any player apis to use.
One way (or rather a workaround) that i feel is to start a eventlistener in the background and see for the total time of the video and when that time is reached remove the content.But the problem is what if the user pauses the video, then also the div would be deleted.
I created one invitation in flash 8 with flip book and wanted to upload it online and share the link with everyone. wanted to do in an atmosphere where flash player is self embedded and the user doesnt need to have the flash player.
I need to save a flash movie with the player embedded into it - meaning, when saved, there will be ONLY a single swf file (with functional buttons) needed to upload. I know default saving gives a swf and player skin file.
I wrote a program in C# that, when a user press a button, opens a new form containing an embedded flash object. The flash application needs the user to be logged in, so i added to the source something like
swf.SetVariable("__ses", sid);
This works fine for 2 user testing the application, while the third one can succesfully open one table, while all the others appear "black", just like if the loader can't get past the loading step.
I have embed the youtube flash player via this code.
Code: // create a MovieClip to load the player into var ytplayer:MovieClip = _root.createEmptyMovieClip("ytplayer", 1); // create a listener object for the MovieClipLoader to use var ytPlayerLoaderListener:Object = {
[code]....
I would Like to know, How can I run the destory command because the video keeps playing even though the command has been passed. I've used stopVideo and destory. they dont work until you press the pause button. I would like to end the video even if its playing.

How can this be achieved? I am willing to go back to archaic Flash versions if need be!

I'm trying to get a video (flv) or an swf video player to work on Facebook walls, however no matter what I do - facebook posts the raw fbml and ignores the code.
I have a website [URL] when I go there if I click the video archives button then play a video then click on the home or photos button or one of the alternate background buttons on the left the video goes away as it should but not always the audio (especially when I click while the video is still buffering). Is there a command I can use to kill the sound from the flvPlayback component and nothing else(I have a mp3 player there also I so I don't want to use the SoundMatrix class. btw the videos are all played on an instance of the flvPlayback component.
