I wrote a program in C# that, when a user press a button, opens a new form containing an embedded flash object. The flash application needs the user to be logged in, so i added to the source something like
swf.SetVariable("__ses", sid);
This works fine for 2 user testing the application, while the third one can succesfully open one table, while all the others appear "black", just like if the loader can't get past the loading step.
I have a Flash Player ActiveX control embedded in a .NET WinForms application and am trying to load a SWF into the FP control over an HTTPS url. In development I'm using a self-signed certificate and it seems that in this scenario I can't get FP to accept the certificate and allow the HTTPS communications.When I try to load the swf over https directly, I don't see the swf and when I right-click on the control I see "Movie not loaded". I can load the swf over http and then try to make Flash Remoting calls over https. I don't expect this to work by default but I added a crossdomain.xml file to allow insecure communications. The crossdomain.xml file is in the root of the server but is not loaded. I added an explicit call to loadPolicyFile with the full https url and the crossdomain.xml file is still not loaded. The local IIS logs don't show any request for the file at all, nothing in the HTTPERR file, and Flash's policyfiles.txt log says URl...If I host the swf in a browser, then the browser prompts to accept the certificate and everything works fine. I've accepted the certificate in IE and Firefox.I also tried calling DisableLocalSecurity() on the FP ActiveX control but it had no effect. I didn't really expect it to since I'm not actually loading the swf locally, it's loaded from a url.Can anyone confirm if the self-signed cert really is the problem? Is there a way to get FP to accept the certificate? Any way to bypass the http/https restriction (this is a locally installed app so I can change any local config files we need)?

I made a flash mp3 player and it works fine in any other test pages. but when i embed it onto my site it just shows blank. what do i do? my site is [URL] and the flash player i tested here [URL] and it plays. What im i doing wrong? i tryed everything. right now i just got it in a iframe but i dont want that iframe.

View 1 RepliesWhen i embed a flash video in HTML it works in IE and in Firefox but not in chrome. I've looked it up and I've found that chrome adds two attributes to the embed tag, width and height. i have already set the width and height attribute in the embed tag in pixels but from some reason chrome changes it to percentage. when i inspect the element and write pixels instead of percentage the flash is visible again.

View 2 RepliesI have a big problem with font embedding and I can not debug it myself. I' ve done a simple list of attached movieclips with textfields inside them, with embedded fonts. I have no problem with flash player 9 in order to see the list, but in flash player 10 I can't see it. The font is very common, Arial actually so you can test it very easily. I am using a font symbol in the library, a class and an xml file for my data. Also you can see it online in (if you have flash player 10 you can't see a thing)

I am using a embeddable Flash based MP3 player (The standalone Version of Wordpress Audio Player, to be exact) to play audio on the web page of a client. Given the nature of Flash based players - AFAIK they all use Flash's audio/video decoding libraries - the exact player product might not matter, though. She complains that some specific audio files sometimes tend to play slowly, as if on a tape deck that doesn't run at full speed. Her machine is a 5 year old Sony Vaio with a 1.5 GhZ Pentium M Processor.
So it's not top of the line anymore but it should not have trouble decoding anything, let alone a MP3 audio stream. I can't verify the problem because we can't set up an audio connection (slow Internet on a remote island), nor can I reproduce it on my 3.3 GhZ dual-code Workstation, but this is a person whose error reports have seldom turned out unfounded in the past, so I tend to take them seriously. I see differences between the encodings of the MP3 files (see below). Any pointers towards which setting(s) to change?

Basically, I'm trialling a javascript button that, when clicked, will produce a popup window with the flash player embedded in it. I've had some progress but am having problems passing the url I want...
My javascript reads:

But when I try to pass a URL through, nothing happens. However, if I put the url in directly (as below), bingo! The pop appears!
I'm going to write a custom multimedia player. It will be embedded into a web-browser and will receive data from a server over SSL connection.
Required functionality is: MPEG4 video and different VoIP audio decoding (e.g. G.711 or G.729) custom controls waveform representation (or just flexible drawing API) I think about Adobe Flash (or Flex). But I know little about this technology. My biggest concern is multimedia decoding.
Can you recommend Adobe Flex or anything else for this project? What pitfalls can I expect on this way?

The flash player has a little window that can be opened (similar to flash->settings) telling the user to update the player if the movie loaded is for a more recent version. How can you instruct the player to do this? ITV have managed it with their catchup-tv player.
Context: I am allowing users to copy flash into their PowerPoint presentations and would like to tell them to update their flash player if necessary. I am not embedding a web page in the power point so no JS can be run for checking etc (because I know this is not necessary).

View 8 RepliesI am having the same problem as a lot of other folks. I have searched through this and other forums and nobody seems to have an answer - at least I can't find one. The set up is this: I tried to view a video - received a message that I need to download the latest version of Flash Player - did so and everything seemed normal - tried the video again and got the same message. I have tried everything suggested on the official Flash Support page as well as this and several other forums and nothing changes.
I haven't seed this tidbit in other threads and it is probably worth noting that when I go to the page on the Adobe site where you can check which version is installed - it says no version is installed even though it apears normally in the Programs and Features window and can be removed from there. Off-the-shelf version of Windows 7 Home Premium , 32 bit running on an HP Pavillion Notebook. No problems with Flash Player unitl 3 days ago.
I've been using CS4 to create flash 10 applications. It works well in other browsers, but IE 6 will not tell the users that they need to update their Flash Player. Instead, it will play the flash as if it's a video (keep looping from frame 1 to end) without allowing any interaction..
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to write a 3D game in ActionScript 3.0 using the Stage3D API. I've copied the playerglobal.swc in my frameworks/libs/player/11.0 directory, and modified the frameworks/flex-config.xml file by changing the target-player to 11.0.0 and the swf-version to 13.When I compile my ActionScript 3.0 files using mxmlc I set the options -target-player=11.0.0 and -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries=true. Now, I don't get an error at compile time when importing com.adobe.utils.AGALMiniAssembler or flash.display.Stage3D so I assume that there's no problem with that.
I run the compiled SWF file in Opera, and I'm using the latest Flash Player (version 11.0.1.152) which was publicly released today (cheers ;D). There's seems to be no problem with the player because I can play Zombie Tycoon. However, when I play my SWF file the Stage3D doesn't display; but all the other display objects attached to the stage do display.I believe that there's either some problem with my configuration or my code, but I can't pinpoint it. The code I'm using was simply copied from Labs @ Jam3. I believe that there was some problem with the viewport, so I simply replacedI have been searching for a solution all over the web, but I can't seem to locate it.

When I hit test movie, it doesn't animate, but when I open the rendered swf "manually" in Flash player, it animates. It doesn't animate in browser when published (F12) neither.
I can view it in my browser by going directly to the file however when it is embedded the photos will not load. The images it loads has to be in the same directory as the .swf file and as i stated it clearly works when going directly to the file but not once it has been embedded.

I posted a question similar to this not so long ago however I have trawled through the forums and could not find an answer...I am using Lightwindow which is a version of lightbox that can have ANY form of content and DOES support .swf files.I have linked the test link on my page to activate lightwindow and open the swf file. Light window opens the window to the correct size but does not display any content. If I go directly to the flash file then all the test images load.Here is the code for that link:

I am trying to use the Flash + Set the browser to a desktop agent on the Galaxy Tab.

So the issues is, when the UserAgentString param is enabled, flash player wont load as many websites like Iplayer don't recognise the browser in the WebView.
This may be a bug in the Samsung browser. Anyone have any desktop agents that the WebView will accept whilst enabling flash?
