Make Embedded Flash Player Open Little Window Telling Them To Update It?

The flash player has a little window that can be opened (similar to flash->settings) telling the user to update the player if the movie loaded is for a more recent version. How can you instruct the player to do this? ITV have managed it with their catchup-tv player.
Context: I am allowing users to copy flash into their PowerPoint presentations and would like to tell them to update their flash player if necessary. I am not embedding a web page in the power point so no JS can be run for checking etc (because I know this is not necessary).

Basically, I'm trialling a javascript button that, when clicked, will produce a popup window with the flash player embedded in it. I've had some progress but am having problems passing the url I want...
My javascript reads:

var player = document.FLVClipEditor;
if (player) {

player.doublePopup(url);

But when I try to pass a URL through, nothing happens. However, if I put the url in directly (as below), bingo! The pop appears!

I was able to gather info on how to test and display users OS and FP version. However this info is "dormant" it is just being displayed on the screen.Does anyone know how to make an alert message to upgrade to the current Flash Player if a user runs the lower version?

From my main timeline actions, how can I tell a dynamic text box inside a movieclip to update? I have a movie clip with the dynamic text box called catalog. The instance name for the text box is catalogtext. On the main time line, I am using a loop to repeatedly attach the catalog movie clip. I want the dynamic text to show the value of i, and each time the movie clip is reproduced, increase by 1 each time.
Here is my current attempt:
for (i=1; i<=9; i++) {
container.attachMovie("catalog","catalog"+i+"_mc", i+200);
mycatalog_mc = container["catalog"+i+"_mc"];

Everything works fine, but the text box won't show the value of i. I must not be calling it correctly?

I'm having a little trouble with my flash banner. When I click on my button, it opens the link I specified in a new window or new tab, like target _blank in HTML. I want it to open in the same window, so you're still navigating through the site. I work with 3d animation. Im have a problem with a personal website Im doing, I have a link in a button inside a flash movie to open a new window and play a youtube movie:

This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.

How on earth do I get the HTML links inside a flash movie open up in the same browser window where said movie is embedded in (As opposed to opening up as a new pop-up windows)? Here is the code I have inside each of the buttons I have inside my flash movie:

I have a bunch of flv files and at the momment when a user clicks on the link to each of the files on my site, they are prompted to download each FLV file or asked how to open the video. Is it possible so that when the user clicks on the link the file opens and plays in a flv player( not embedded though), without asking to be downloaded or how to open the video ? Do i have to somehow add the player code to the flv file ?

I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.

So Flash CS5 came with a beta version of Flash Player 10.1.Now that the official release of Flash Player 10.1 is released, how do I update what Flash CS5 uses when I Test Movie?I have so far updated the Flash Player in my browser and my standalone players but I can't seem to figure out how to update the Player that Flash CS5 uses.This wouldn't be so bad if the beta of 10.1 wasn't breaking my project because of bugs.

I have made a swf file that requires Flash Player 10.1 to play back properly. I have successfully updated to Flash Player 10.1 in my browsers, and if I open this swf file in a browser it functions correctly.
However, I want to be able to play it back in the standalone Flash Player that came with Flash CS4 Professional, and it was not updated from 10.0 to 10.1 when I updated to 10.1 for my browsers. How can I update this software to a newer version?

how to go about getting the Flash Player(s) that's built into the CS5 IDE updated? According to System.capabilities.version, it's running v10.1.52.14 which, according to this page on the Adobe site, says was a pre-release version of Flash Player and should not be used! It also seems to have an annoying bug where HTML tags are frequently shown as raw HTML, rather than being rendered, which makes testing stuff in the IDE a real pain.

I would like to find out if there is a way for a message to pop up on my website if the user has Flash Player version lower than 10.1. If the version 10.1 or higher (in the future) no message should come up. The message should prompt a user to update to the Flash Player version 10.1. My entire site is in Flash and I am using AS3. So I am guessing I should implement an AS3 code on the first frame of the script layer. Does anyone know what would be this code?
