May 26, 2011I am using linux and can not find out how to update my flash player. Everywhere I go says to find such and such file and remove it or something but I do not know linux very well.

Aug 18, 2010how to go about getting the Flash Player(s) that's built into the CS5 IDE updated? According to System.capabilities.version, it's running v10.1.52.14 which, according to this page on the Adobe site, says was a pre-release version of Flash Player and should not be used! It also seems to have an annoying bug where HTML tags are frequently shown as raw HTML, rather than being rendered, which makes testing stuff in the IDE a real pain.

Nov 17, 2011I am deploying Updates via SCUP and SCCM to hundreds of Computers. Fortunately Adobe provides an SCCM Update Catalog for both Adobe Flash ActiveX and Adobe Flash Plugin. But now my Problem: After publishing the Update via SCCM, the client is not supposed to be interfered with the Update Progress (which is working) I figured the Updater works like this: First SCCM checks if a Update needs to be deployed, if this is the case, The Flash Updater begins. First the old Flash Version is beeing uninstalled. But now: if the Client has a Browser Window (IE, or Firefox) open, the Updater is not able to install the new Flash Version and quits with an Error. This leaves the Client PC without any Flash (because its being uninstalled before) How can I prevent Flash being uninstalled due to the Update progress not working while a Browser window is open?

Dec 14, 2010I have made a swf file that requires Flash Player 10.1 to play back properly. I have successfully updated to Flash Player 10.1 in my browsers, and if I open this swf file in a browser it functions correctly.
However, I want to be able to play it back in the standalone Flash Player that came with Flash CS4 Professional, and it was not updated from 10.0 to 10.1 when I updated to 10.1 for my browsers. How can I update this software to a newer version?

Aug 12, 2010I would like to find out if there is a way for a message to pop up on my website if the user has Flash Player version lower than 10.1. If the version 10.1 or higher (in the future) no message should come up. The message should prompt a user to update to the Flash Player version 10.1. My entire site is in Flash and I am using AS3. So I am guessing I should implement an AS3 code on the first frame of the script layer. Does anyone know what would be this code?

Jan 2, 2012The flash player has a little window that can be opened (similar to flash->settings) telling the user to update the player if the movie loaded is for a more recent version. How can you instruct the player to do this? ITV have managed it with their catchup-tv player.
Context: I am allowing users to copy flash into their PowerPoint presentations and would like to tell them to update their flash player if necessary. I am not embedding a web page in the power point so no JS can be run for checking etc (because I know this is not necessary).

Jan 29, 2011I am trying to create my first semi-serious flash game. The problem I am having is I want to be able to click a button in the players inventory to equip a different armor to the player, and have that armor work in the game on the same movieclip(Player) without having to re-make all the attacks and moves etc. for each change on another movieclip. My ideas are extremely novice like putting each armor and update on a different frame inside the Player movieclip and then doing a gotoAndStop to the frame. Though that may work I don't know how to goto a frame inside a movieclip. I would like to control this using as much code as possible.I would paste my code but I don't have any code for this part of the game so far. I have tried some simple coding but so far I cannot get the pieces together.

The application is written using Flex.I'm using Windows 7 (32-bit), but it has crashed on Windows Vista (32-bit) as well. It crashes on IE8, Firefox 3.6, and Chrome 9.However, it does not crash when using the debug version of the Flash Player.I've tried enabling and disabling the hardware acceleration. Jun 30, 2010I have this issue where I'm incapable of viewing any text in the chatlog box, the text entry line, the userlist, or the pop-up Flashplayer option menus when using [URL] online chat application. The pop-up Flashplayer option menus do have outlines for buttons as well as having icons in the bottom-row of buttons yet lack text completely.
***Re-install as officially directed by the site did *not* work even after several iterations. This is becoming a nuisance.
This began after the installation of the latest version of Flash Player about two weeks ago (I've been busy )

The procedure entry point ?ik_treelsActive@CFlashIK@@QAE_NJ@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library FlashIK.dll.So then I tried to install the updates via the website and the AdobePatchInstaller.exe and I get this:
Some updates failed to install.
Update is not applicable.
So here I am unable to start Flash CS5. Anyone know a way to fix this issue?
