ActionScript 2.0 :: Disable Button For Drag Image?
Aug 8, 2009
I'm pretty new to action script and I have been playing around with the drag image script I found. I been trying to make it that whenever you click on a button the dragging function will be disable and when you click on the button again the dragging will be enable again. [code]...
I have made an gallery of images which calls one image at a time in sequence using an XML file. The images display in a movie clip inside the flash.swf file. The gallery works fine ... though there is something that I would like to address from a usability standpoint and am hoping that it can done with some simple actionscript. The gallery has a movie clip in which the images load... and a forward and rewind button to cycle through the images.
The problem is that when the user cycles through the images using the forward button, going from one to the next... and reaches the last image...the forward button is still visible, and causes the user to want to click on it. After a few clicks ... without anything happening (because there are no MORE images in the gallery to forward to) the user either assumes that the button is broken or moves on to some other part of the site.
Eventhough there is a counter on the screen indicating which image the user is looking at... ie image 3 of 23.... user feedback has been that they rarely look at this to stop cycling through the images ... when the forward button in still visible at image 23 of 23. I am wondering how to actionscript the forward button to both disable it and make it invisible when the user is at the final image.
Here is the actionscript that currently runs the gallery: function loadXML(loaded) { if (loaded) { xmlNode = this.firstChild; image = []; description = []; total = xmlNode.childNodes.length; [Code] ......
I want to have an image and when I click on the image ,one can hold down the mouse and drag a copy to where ever on the stage and when one lets go, one can drag another and another with each copy still being able to be dragged after released.this is what i have but its pretty simple and doesn't work....
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,makeA Box); var i:Number = 1; //i will be the total number of boxes var newBox:myMC = new myMC();[code]....
which works perfectly. What I'm hoping to do is that once a movieclip has been placed on a target and has played another movieclip, I want all of the other movieclips that you can drag to be disabled.So a user would have to hit the reset button to, which sends things back to the beginning before they could drag and drop another movieclip.Right now you can drag multiples onto the target, which is a problem.The code I tried to use is root.soda_mc.stopDrag();But this doesn't keep it from being dragged by the user
But seems that after the mc stops at the selected location, I want to move it back to the starting point. I set initial var and once mc reaches its destination..i cant get it back to the initial position. It seems like its jammed?
I found examples in adobe site only to position the object where the mouse pointer is. But i have to place the image in the position of drag proxy image.
I have an image on the stage which is bigger than the stage itself:
The stage is 700x550
The image is 2100x1650, and it's registration point is at its center, if I remember correctly.The initial location of the image on the stage is 350,75.I want to make sure that the user will be able to drag the image, as long as the edges of the image doesn't show.here's what I did:
mapRect = new Rectangle(0-mapMC.width/2, 0-mapMC.height/2, mapMC.width, mapMC.height);
and later on:
mapMC.startDrag(false,mapRect);
The the top and the left of the image are bounded well, but as far as the bottom and the right side of the image.
What i want is: A slider that can be pulled by the user across an image to reveal a second one underneath. The same as this example, only I want a vertical scroll button not a horizontal. [URL]
I am very new to Flash and have been trying to figure this one out for myself. Sadly i can't. What i want is:A slider can be pulled by the user across an image to reveal a second one underneath. The same as this example, only I want a vertical scroll button not a horizontal
I'm trying to figure out how to disable a button after it is click and then enable it once another button is clicked. I'm stuck on how to enable the button.
on (rollOver) { this.gotoAndPlay("s1"); _root.slideshow.gotoAndPlay("s4");
When it starts, I switch tab to nr.2 (default is tab 1). I need to be able to hold down spacebar and drag the mouse to pan, but when I do this it switches back to the first tab. So the spacebar is triggering it to switch. I've tried using a custom lass that extends tabNavigator, like the code below, but it's not working. Also tried setting focusEnabled = false without luck.
I have a web application developped using as3. The problem is that these application loads some image files, and add my watermark to them.What is happening is that these images are being cached by the browser, allowing the users who know how to access the tmp folder, to get these files, without my watermark.Adding the watermark previously to the image, is not an alternative for me, due the fact that when the a premium user is logged in the watermark is not added.How can I disable the caching?
I want it to while still easing into place like the iphone does. For example my stage is 550px. The drag and throw MC is 1650. That's 550x3. If the first image is showing starting at x axis 0 and you drag to the left it will ease into place stopping and showing the second image stopping the image at x axis 0. And the same thing scrolling to the next one and scrolling back. So the code is below and I've attached the movie that I'm working on.
How do I disable text wraping around an image? Just to normally write under an <img> with a single <br> (not more) in a htmlText? I wanna get rid of auto text wrapping...
In my code, when a user clicks on a button, I set the alpha of the button to 50 and set enabled=0. This works to essentially disable and grey out the button. The problem is that even though the button has been disabled, it still sits in the over state until the user moves the cursor off the hit area... Funny, no?
Since you can't tell a button what frame to go to, how do I get it to go back to its up state (without recreating all my buttons as movieclips and doing the whole thing manually)?
if you click on the middle Character a popup window will open at that time i want all other buttons disable so that we cant see the small box on mouseover.[url]...
ActionScript Code: // // var box = new Sprite(); box.graphics.lineStyle(10, 0xFF0000);
[code]...
If you click the box, its alpha is set to 1 rather than .1 because of an errant MOUSE_OUT event.What is the right way to fully disable this button when it is clicked?I'd rather not remove the event listeners because I have a bunch of different MOUSE_OVER functions on many different buttons and keeping track of which function is with which button and whether or not the listeners are already assigned seems like way too much work just to properly disable a button.
I have a button that when you roll over it a big window pops up, but then when you click on it, it pops the window up again, now its not a problem but i would like to know if i can disable the click function somehow. so that only the roll over works.
I know you can probably use a movie clip and just tell it with actionscript to load when rolled over, but i don't know how
I have some buttons that play an external swf inside an empty movie clip on the main timeline. I was wondering what Actionscript I need to disable the button when it is pressed. I want the button to still have roll over functionality and everything, but I just want the swf to load once when the button is pressed. Below is the script I am using right now.
on (release) { //load Movie Behavior if(this.content == Number(this.content)){
I have a movie and after the intro the enter button takes me to the next frame (11) and stops. there i have a drop down menu with button instances on each of the drop downs. The drop down is in a movie clip so i am using on (release) {_root.gotoAndPlay("s1"); } on the button instances to take me to root level to say frame 12 and stops. Each button instance has a different frame label to go to, s1, s2 etc - the idea being that back at root level i can have the content of each of the buttons on each of the frame labels (s1 at frame 12 , s2 at frame 13 etc) .... this works fine except the drop down menu in each of these new frames retains the action script on the drop down button instances - this is fine for all the buttons that will take me to another content page at root level - what i dont want is the AS to remain on the button for the page i am currently on - cos if you click on it it takes you back through the intro etc to get to its frame label again .
