View 6 RepliesI would like to create a preload bar that fades out when the content is loaded. Here is the code I have so far, it works ok but the fade out is too long. I've tried tinkering with the code further, but it starts to fade out half way through.

I have a movie that calls other movie clips with a preload and fade for each external mc called. but after you call and load the swf in the container it disappears aftre about 30 seconds it disappears if you dont do anything and then it comes back after about 30 seconds. I am using this script for the preload object and fade.

Then this is on every frame to make it use the preload and fade in the new loaded swf after it shows it loading.

Also I dont know if this has anything to do with this problem but when I load an external swf it does not show any actions i have in there or any text but does show images and shapes but not dynamic text boxes or fades or anything like that. You can view it at the url below. I have listed the link to the main movie swf and the map1.swf that it calls when you click on floor plan so you can see when you view the map1.swf by itself there is more stuff that does not show up when loaded into the main swf. My client wants so have a loading animation/movie (already created that in Flash CS5) on the website's start page (root, '/' - the first thing you see when you go to domain.tld).When the animation's finished it should forward to another page (i.e. the real page with the content), e.g. domain.tld/somepage.htm I can do this with, for example, getURL() in Flash and it works fine.
But. Is it possible to kind of preload domain.tld/somepage.htm so the content (almost) instantly appears after the loading animation's finished?Also, a fade-out-fade-in effect would be nice, i.e. the loading animation fades out and the content of domain.tld/somepage.htm fades in.
I would like to create a flash movie that loops through 11 dynamic images continually with a fade-in, fade-out each image.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to preload an mp3 file dynamically while showing the typical 'percentage loaded' in a dynamic text box. However for some reason, the percentage just doesn't count up - it freezes on 100% even though the mp3 file is still loading. I have included the code that I'm using below. Also, does anyone know what would be the best way to adjust this code so that I could preload multiple mp3 files at the same time or one after another?

When you click on a hot spot on the image a movie clip fades in - the movie clip is infact just an image of a semi transparent* Inside the movie clip is a text box that loads text from an xml* I want the movie clip / text to fade in when it loads, and out as it dissapears.So far everything is working - except for the text. I can't get it to fade in, mostly because this functionality would only seem to work with OnClipEvent, which I can't seem to accomplish if the movie clip isn't on the stage.

I am trying to have a simple swf with a static background image that will have phrases at random locatoin slowly fade in, stay for a few seconds,and then fade out. Then the next phrase, and the next one,and then next one,until it loops arround again. The phrases are coming from a database,and I have already created my asp code to give me a page with &phrase=phrase1,phrase2,phrase3,...&status=1&. My fla file has two layers--one for the background and the other for a movie clip wich contains a dynamic text field. My first frame loads my variables, and my second frame looks to see if status equals 1 (the last variable being loaded). If status is not equal 1, I send the head back to frame 1, otherwise I split the phrases into an array, get the height and width of the swf, and init a count var to 0.

However, many parts of that code does not work. I broke the math stuff up so that I could see the values in debug. Anyhow, Text_Width and Text_Height are undefined, which causes Text_X and Text_Y to be calculated for positions that may put the text off screen?
I,m trying to make a dynamic text field fade in. I got the fade in part though. the dynamic text field contains a percentage loader. just before it fades in it shows a zero. this is my actionscript code it is as2

I have some text which was set up with an alpha fade-in motion tween (0-100%) and worked fine until the text was made dynamicaly loaded from a text file and variable. Now it still shows the fade-in in work mode, but during play it just pops directly to the final 100% state.

View 2 RepliesIm working on a project and I dont know how to even think through the problem, as I've only worked through Flash through AS3, and the following needs to be done completely in AS too.
I have two pieces of content - some flash video, and an mp3, both loaded dynamically with loaders etc. All this I think I have fairly well in hand. What I'd like to do make the 'hick-up' as these tracks loop, disappear by cross fading the video and mp3 across it self in the loop - if that makes any sense at all. I suspect that I'll have to delve into the timeline, but perhaps strangely, never done so.
I've a preload bar in my movieclip that i add on the stage for every thumb. With this code only the last preload bar does the preload...the others don't do anything...Here the code:

View 2 Repliesflash version: CS3 AS2 Im having trouble making the pages for a website im working on. I have a row of buttons, and I want each one to open its corrisponding page ie. contact_us_button to open contact_us movie clip. the thing is I want each page to transition in and out. so when I click contact us, the contact us movie clip fades in and stops. When I click about us, the contact us movie clip fades out and about us fades in.
Is the way to do this to make each page movie clip have a fade start and fade end, and have it stop before the fade end, and on another page click continue playing the current clip to get the fade out and then open the new page movie clip?

my intention is to make alot ball endless fade in and fade out by using tween event class , but i got some problem see my code.

I have a tweened movie which plays on a loop. A click on the image area stops the movie and the image fades nicely from alpha 100 to alpha 0. A second click brings the image back immediately to alpha 100 and the clip continues. I would like the movie image to fade back in from alpha0 to alpha 100 before it re-starts; (the reverse of the fade out). At the moment the re-appearence of the image is a crude jump. So far my ill informed tinkering has not worked.

I simply have one FLVPlayback component in the background and a movieclip on the layer above with an FLVPlayback component inside it. The first FLV component is constantly looping a five-second video. So all I need is for the movieclip containing the second FLV component to load the right file, fade in, and when the video ends, fade out. Absolutely all of that works... apart from the fading in. What I noticed was that my movieclip was fading in correctly, but the FLVPlayback component was empty and transparent until the fade had finished - then it played the clip. Here's my code, which gets called at random intervals:

how to do this effect.I have a movie instance named "sparkles_mov" as in internal movie, not loading externally.It's placed multiple times on the stage.I need an AS code for the first frame of the entire stage that makes all instances fade in at a specific frame number (5), last for XXX amount of seconds and then all of the instances to fade out at a specific frame number (70).Is this possible? I have 2 buttons on the stage whose each MouseEvent load a different external swf when clicked. In an attempt to get the current swf to fade out and new swf to fade in on button click, I vainly added a Tween to the function but to no avail.
As it is now, when the movie starts, the button 1 swf fades in, however, when button 2 is clicked, the new swf is loaded but the old swf does not fade.
