ActionScript 2.0 :: Preload An Mp3 File Dynamically While Showing The Typical 'percentage Loaded' In A Dynamic Text Box

I am trying to preload an mp3 file dynamically while showing the typical 'percentage loaded' in a dynamic text box. However for some reason, the percentage just doesn't count up - it freezes on 100% even though the mp3 file is still loading. I have included the code that I'm using below. Also, does anyone know what would be the best way to adjust this code so that I could preload multiple mp3 files at the same time or one after another?

I use a variable to show the percentage loaded number in a dynamic text box. The problem I have is that it only works when there is more than 1 frame in the preloader scene.
My guess is, that when there is only one frame, the code is not being refreshed to update the text box.
ie var percentage; percentage = math.round( getBytesLoaded() / getBytesTotal() * 100);

What I'm trying to do is get the total bytes of all the files I want to load and display the percentage loaded of total bytes and bytes loaded of all the files. Its a slideshow so i want all the files loaded and then it will play. I've looked at bulk-loader but it wasn't what I needed. The image are loaded from an xml file. I think I would need to create an Array and then find out the total bytes but I don't know how to reference the loader in the progress.

I want to build an interactive horizontal slider that shows a percentage number depending on where the slider is located. here goes:
<---------45% X 55%------------->
Basically, sliding "X" either left or right would reflect the correct percent in the numbers. For example, sliding "X" all the way to the left would show the left percent at 100% and the right percent at 0%.

Then after about 2 seconds the dynamically loaded image appears, is there a way to preload the image before the end of the animation?

I have a small issue going on. I created a dynamic scrollbar which scrolls dynamically loaded XML text. I'm working on my first Flash project, and for my preloader I'd like to do a really simple gradient based on the percentage loaded. The preloader says "77% loaded...", where the number 77 is a dynamic text instance called percentLoaded. I'd like the textColor of percentLoaded to change on a gradient from #000000 to #FFFFFF, in gray-scale.Therefore, I can't simply do:percentLoaded.textColor=(currentValue/100)*0xFFFFFF;This just converts the textColor to a multiple of FFFFFF, but outputs a color since it's not three separate components. i have a text box in flash which has text loaded dynamically from a .txt file. and its html enabled.. the text file has a variable name. notes but it doesnt have an instant name.... the problem i have is. that when i snap a flash mx scroll bar component. it gives it an instant name but the scroll bar doesnt work.

I'm building a flash movie for something at work and im loading in some images using an XML file but when i use a preloader it only preloads the XML file (as in just the text inside) and not the images.
This causes the movie to start playing without having the images loaded.Does anyone have any ideas about how i could get it to preload the contents/images being called in the XML file so it doesn't run as soon as the XML file is loaded.

But when I test it and click "simulate download," the screen stays white for about 10 seconds then goes to frame 2 where my content starts.?! I get no errors, either. getting my zoom function to display the percentage that has been zoomed in or out. here is the code for the zoom function. this function works, how to display the zoom percent... like if its at 50%, or 120%, etc...

im trying to load an mp3 with a pre-loader. My swf plays fine until i click the button that loads the mp3."Error #2044: Unhndled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type."I've used this pre-loader code before no problem. The file name matched and the file is in the root folder. i don't get what the problem is. Here is the code I have on that keyframe:

Is there a surestarter preloader in AS3 with CS4? Meaning here, showing a progress bar or percentage value before loading the main swf, right away at the start of the loading.I tried 3 different versions:
1- I used the code from a video (and accompanying files), and simply changed the content.swf to my own swf file (rename my swf content.swf), so that the original code would load my swf instead of the original content.swf. (original content.swf was too small to see anything before loading, because my loading speed is too fast).Here is the code from the original preloader (loads a small swf which then loads the main swf file):

I have a main SWF that loads a child SWF that includes a form and a dynamic text box for displaying errors. However, when people type into the form, the text is not visible. However, if you type something, then do select all and copy it copies text. It's there, just not visible.

I'm new to flash and actionscript. I have a .fla file for my movie and a seperate .as file for the actionscript/package. I'm having a problem with dynamic text where in the text is not showing.Code:dynamic_txt.text = "some text here";I tried to run a trace on it and the text string is correct. I also tried putting an event listner to the dynamic text and the event listner is working. Does anyone has an idea why the text of the dynamic text is not showing?

There seem to be a lot of people with my problem but all sorts of different things fixed their issue. None of that has worked for me:
Embedding the font
rendering text as html
making the font _sans
changing AA method
im sure I've tried some other random stuff as well..
Basically I've created an order form over multiple pages for products.. everything works.. on the last page which i have named overview I have a script on the top layer which basically fills out 3 dynamic text fields with the products they have ordered.
The script works.. it loads the text into the textfields they are just not visible.
I can even select the text when I enable "Make text selectable".

Problem that I want to share with you is that I have two external swf. One is swf generated by Flex IDE and second one is generated by Flash IDE. When I load flex swf, loading progress output is not showing until the whole file is loaded. This problem is not presented when I load flash swf as you can see on this testing page 90.157.198.254/test/test.php.

I've been doing a number of pretty basic flash banner ads at the typical advertising size (728x90, 300x250, etc.) but the client wants to throw in some video for this upcoming batch. I've already been given the .flv movie file. It's about a minute long at 3 mb, but I'm only going to use about 4 seconds of it. My question is what is the routine/typical route to take when adding video to banners but also keeping under the file size limitations (around 37k)? I did some brief research and read about progressive downloading but wasn't sure what the typical direction was when delivering files like this to the vendors.
