I have a simple flash form, which has some required fields, ie. name, addy, etc. What I want to do, is validate that the fields have been filled before they can hit the "next" button.

View 14 RepliesI have always wondered this functionality but would like to know what your approach is for this task:
Lets say a project requires three forms screens:
Screen 1 is user info
Screen 2 is product Survey
Screen 3 is Contact info
All three forms will be generated on runtime. So the application cycles starts with Screen 1 which has the usual user info fields such: First Name, Last Name, Email and until user fills in all three fields, application will now allow the user to go on the screen 2.
I have only dealth with one screen form and have never programmed a segmented form. I usually declare a BOOLEAN and set it to false and after making sure that all the fields are filled then the BOOLEAN Value is set to true and user is able to submit the form.
Now having to deal with 3 different forms, how do you handle such situation. Does one need to set Boolean value to false for each screen when the screen is initialized or loaded first?
Im a scrub when it comes to flash (but i gotta start somewhere) and started making a form.I made a validation on the orders email and the orders details.The purpose of the form is to get some information about trips.there are 10 rows with 4 fields.the 4 fields is a date, from, to and time textfield.
i wanna group up and validate these fields so that if you write something in "from" you have to write something in "date", "to" and "time".
I have an interactive map that I would like to script so that when a county is clicked, it sends through to a page called results.php this HTML table:

So County and MerchantType are fields in a SQL table. The script needs to tell the results.php page that County A and MerchantType B has been sent. Where A is the name of the county and B is ALL (the default i've chosen for MerchantType) I've spent the last 4 hours looking for answers but the only ones out there are how to do it in AS2.

I have only two fields Name and Email in a Order form and a PayPal button for payment at PayPal ( into my account).I can do the mail portion but have no idea about PayPal code, however on search here I found one code and after pasting this one to the PayPal button it redirects to my PayPal account. But the question is anybody can post a message and leave the site without paying me. How can I do this thing so that the user will forced to pay before posting the mail form. No idea how to proceed?

It happens rarely and randomly, yet still it happens.
i cant see any pattern in its behavior and any reason in it.

i've tested this in every way i could think of,
it gets ROLL_OVER event, but not CLICK event.
ive also tested it with hasEventListener and it always has. its just not triggering function.
BUT clicking anywhere on page outside flash makes it work again.
Question: whose fault is this? Flash? Drupal? Firefox? God?
UPDATE: it looks like its caused by <param name="wmode" value="transparent"/>.
Firefox seem to have problem with that.

I'm using mx2004.I have 2 variables, craft and avilablepoints, now when you hit the crafting button, it subtracts 1 point from avilablepoints, and adds 1 to the craft variable. I got that coded without an issue. I'm having trouble setting up the button to stop adding when availablepoints hits zero. Here is the code I have so far...

Everything is fine, except the "state" field is actually a combo box component. It will tab from "city" to "state", but when you hit "Tab", it does not move the focus to the next field.
Is there some trick to this or some other code or a paramater I'm overlooking? Do I have to make a customer key listener to make it tab off a combo box?

I have an HTML form that I want to upload to MySQL with PHP. That part's easy, but the thing is I want the submit button to be a Flash object. Somehow I need the Flash button to submit the form, but I think I can figure that out. The tricky part is that I need it to set another PHP variable before submitting the form. The variable will be determined by a bunch of stuff, but I can code that in actionscript later. I just need to figure out how to pass the variable back to the webpage. A $_POST variable would probably be fine.
edit: What if the flash object returned some javascript and set a variable that way? making it submit the form as well while still catching a variable?

When i test the movie, i only see some of the form elements, and there's no scroll bar within the movie or the flash player to be able to move around. If i drop this flash movie into a webpage, will the user be able to scroll it within the browser? or do i have to do something to enable scrolling?

View 2 RepliesI've worked with as3 a little but this is my first time creating a form with as3. What I would like to happen with this form is the user enters all the proper info into all the fields. When the user presses the submit button. I want the user to recieve the sent message and I would also like the form feilds to clear(so the know that the data has been sent). The problem I've been having with this is I initially I had them clear on the submit button click... which was clearing all the data before it was posted to the php. So I'm trying it out with this if statement to see when the varSend.method == true; to perform the clearing of the fields. What I would like to know is, will this work as is? and if not what can i do to make it perform the way I want it too?
