Aug 11, 2009I have a dynamic textbox on the 3rd level of a flash movie. The textbox has some hyperlinks for which I used this AS2 code as a test:[code]When I test the scene it works well on all levels apart from the root level. When I test the whole movie, the link does not respond. On rollover the mouse converts into a text cursor, and I have to click several times, until randomly a hand comes up and the link opens. I don't understand why on all sublevels (in the movieclips), the link works perfectly (on rollover mouse becomes hand and click loads URL int browser), but not on the root level. Btw, I placed the movie with the textbox on top, so there is no layer above that in the root timeline.

Apr 14, 2011Is it possible to control aspects of a movie clip using hyperlinks within a dynamic text box?I am using LoadVars to import text from an external .txt file into a dynamic text box,and although I can create simple hyperlinks (using <a> tags) within the box that can redirect the current page to a new URL, is it possible to have links which work within the flash movie - i.e. navigating to another scene?

1) I can't figure out how to have URL links in the text that loads.
2) How can I make the scroller refresh to allow for new text in the dynamic text area. The content changes alright, but the scroller stays in the same position and if it wasn't needed initially, the scroller disappears and doesn't return on new text.
IDE :: Horizontal Dynamic Text Scroller?
May 8, 2009I've created a horizontal dynamic text scroller (like latest news ones found on some websites) in flash 8 with as2, and this swf file reads data from a .txt file. the problem is that when change the txt in the file, it doesnt show in my browser until i clear its cache. But if a client doesnt clear cache he will get the old text...I would like to know how to prevent the browser from caching that swf content, any code or script will be most welcomed. I've tried to add <meta> tags in my html but of no use.

Jun 12, 2009I have a dynamic text box inside a movie clip which is controlled by a vertical cursor bar.If I use the up or down arrows, everything works fine.The middle cursor button works fine in scrolling text as well. However, once use to either end of the scroll bar, the mouse "sticks" to this and continues dragging!!I have looked at this AS for a long time and can't see the problem.

Jan 6, 2005I have this news scroller for work - Vertical member (160 X 600) And the idea is that it has 3 text fields (Headlines). These fields are lined up vertically (one at the top of the scroller, one at the middle, and one at the bottom.). I load them dynamically from XML, and after about 5 seconds, I have them all move up. (the top one goes up the top, and comes back from the bottom, the other two move up). The problem is that I am trying to center justify them. When they're loaded I can center justify them, using this code:

But now I need to know if two things are possible. Can I create a hyperlink (if I can call it that) that will pull documents off of the web? And if so what is a sample function. The second thing I would like to know is can I embed an image file into that dynamic text box? If so how can I do that.

Name: xxxx
URL: www.xxxxx.com
Description: This is a test
Name: zzzz
URL: www.zzzz.com
Description: This is a test2
is there a way that while populating the text. i can also make them as hyperlink?
example. site 1, xxxx, when URL is loaded www.xxxxx.com, user can immediately click on the text and navigate to the URL.
from all my sources, event listener must be added. So do I have to create individual textfield in order to hold the URL?

Below is the for loop what I am struggling with at the moment is that the product images are not loading into the individual movie clips.Im new to AS3 so sorry if I am doing this all wrong.

The functionality is very simple, when I click on the movieclip it will allow me to drag it from right to left and vice versa. This part is simple enough. I face a problem when it comes to the end and the beginning of the movieclip. How do I make it undraggable when it reaches the end of the movie clip and vice versa when I drag it back to the beginning.

Jul 16, 2011I want to make a Flash app that will scroll text whilst music plays. The music part is easy, but scrolling the text...I've tried simply importing ALL of the text, resizing, and scrolling that one giant object upwards, but when the screen was full of text it began to slow down. I need the speed uniform to sync it with the music in the background.
I could have a 70,000,000,000 frame movie and move each element individually, avoiding the heavy load, but the amount of work on my end this would require would be so astronomical that it just wouldn't be worth it. Ideally I want something like a component that I can dump text into and have it deal with making the scroll speed uniform.
It would also be a major plus point if it could be used/created by another program, so that someone without Adobe Flash could produce a similiar kind of movie simply by putting in their text and MP3 file and hitting a "Generate" button.
