ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash 8 / CS3 - Make The Scroller Refresh To Allow For New Text In The Dynamic Text Area

I'm using the dynamic text scroller from [URL] found at [URL] Here's a link to my zipped files too... [URL]
1) I can't figure out how to have URL links in the text that loads.
2) How can I make the scroller refresh to allow for new text in the dynamic text area. The content changes alright, but the scroller stays in the same position and if it wasn't needed initially, the scroller disappears and doesn't return on new text.
I want to make auto width text area. Using xml to pull the data, I would like to expand as data comes in. menu_item_group["menu_item" + i].item_label = nodes i].attributes.item_label; For example: enlarged according to the context menus in this example, the background [URL]
it is possible to make a movieClip that containes some buttons, input/dynamic text area, but the action script to be taken from an external actionscript file (.as)?I ask this because i have some buttons that calles me movieClips who have actionscript applyed in them, i see that i have some error's because of the actionscript (the .swf file blockes at one moment, and i don't know why ) and i want to call the actionscript file (.as) to button when i press one button that displays me the movieClip attach to him.
I have text that is in a scrollable box using the scroll bar component and I would like to be able to format headlines differently than the main body copy, etc. How do I do this? The text is dynamic, multiple line.Was hoping not to have to use external files.
I've tried for hours and days to make my vertical text content scroller working in a flash fake 3d environment with rotationX / Y. But because of vector>bitmap conversion when 3d roationing, the scroller fails to works. I know the stratDrag method fails to work in a 3d environment. other than using PV3D or so ? cause I don't know how to work with PV3D, it's just tooooo complicated to get it for me.
I'm currently using a scrollbar that I got here at Kirupa. I have my site set up with with 6 different navigation buttons, each button should load a new text file. To do this, I have a movie-clip with 6 frames in it. Each frame has this scrollbar on it and will load the correct text file depending on which button you click in the navigation. Everything works fine, except the scrollbar won't refresh itself for each different text file that loads. The scrollbar loads when the site loads, and then stays the same every time a new text file is loaded.

I've created a horizontal dynamic text scroller (like latest news ones found on some websites) in flash 8 with as2, and this swf file reads data from a .txt file. the problem is that when change the txt in the file, it doesnt show in my browser until i clear its cache. But if a client doesnt clear cache he will get the old text...I would like to know how to prevent the browser from caching that swf content, any code or script will be most welcomed. I've tried to add <meta> tags in my html but of no use.

Now the thing is that I WANT THIS TXT CONTENT TO REFRESH AUTOMATICALLY... because I am actually loading txt file that's getting updated every few minutes, but flash content does not update, so the visitor must refresh page on go to some other page so the content will change again.
How do I make this work so that dynamic text in flash change whenever external txt file content change, without refreshing or changing the page.

i have a problem with my flash menu. It's simple menu that contains one MC at start that works as button, u can edit size of the menu from external .txt file by changing the value of menu length. All that works fine , my problem is that every new duplicated mc contains dynamic text area as a label. Labels are also loaded from that .txt file , but that works only for the 1st mc because the newly created text areas in mc's dont have Instance Name set. How can i assign them from as?

I have a dynamic text box inside a movie clip which is controlled by a vertical cursor bar.If I use the up or down arrows, everything works fine.The middle cursor button works fine in scrolling text as well. However, once use to either end of the scroll bar, the mouse "sticks" to this and continues dragging!!I have looked at this AS for a long time and can't see the problem.
I have this news scroller for work - Vertical member (160 X 600) And the idea is that it has 3 text fields (Headlines). These fields are lined up vertically (one at the top of the scroller, one at the middle, and one at the bottom.). I load them dynamically from XML, and after about 5 seconds, I have them all move up. (the top one goes up the top, and comes back from the bottom, the other two move up). The problem is that I am trying to center justify them. When they're loaded I can center justify them, using this code:

Now, when they are first center justified by the code, they look slightly off, and once they move they arrange themselves correctly.
I need to put together an editable text area that has a custom caret (cursor) which is different from the default blinking vertical line. Is the caret a "skinnable" property of text input? note that I am not asking about the mouse pointer cursor which can be set using the CursorManager.

I have an application that has a dynamic text area that pulls in XML content and i would like to have the text area grow, rather than use a scrollbar and i am wondering if anyone has done this or can point me in the right direction? I have 20 squares, each one has a different number(1, 2, 3, etc.) The number is in a dynamic text box which is centered above the square( the square is a Sprite object called "MySquare".) I would like to make the squares drag and droppable. When I test the movie, the arrow cursor becomes a vertical line when over the number. I can click on the edge of the square but then the cursor automatically goes to the center and the compiler returns the error: property StopDrag not found on flash.text.textField.

I'm playing around with a messaging type of application. Does anyone know how, or of any tutorials on to "appending" html text to text areas in flex and flex mobile projects? And specifically how I could take that and basically "append" a sprite inline to the text when i need to?
