I have an image gallery that loads images/text through xml, but I'm having an issue with the scolling, I need to lock the ymouse coords right now it scrolls only on the xmouse, basically I need it to work in the scrolling area only, say 400width by 200height..

Waht is the right way to get 3D coords from 2D mouse coords using Away3D. (version 3.6.0) It's ambigoius problem in general, so there is restriction that 3D point belongs to some fixed plane.
There are some examples with camera.unproject and plane.getIntersectionLineNumbers methods, but they don't work if camera is rotated or plane is not trivial.
lets say i have a file system like this:

what if i need the Sub.swf to always find the native php file eather it gets loaded into main.swf or gets played from local folder and i can't use full paths. is it possible to load Sub.swf into Main.swf and make sure that Sub.swf still thinks /myfolder/ as home?

I have been trying to figure out how to create this movieclipI have a bunch of images which is laid out horizontally (x axis). The functionality is very simple, when I click on the movieclip it will allow me to drag it from right to left and vice versa. This part is simple enough. I face a problem when it comes to the end and the beginning of the movieclip. How do I make it undraggable when it reaches the end of the movie clip and vice versa when I drag it back to the beginning.

View 6 RepliesI've created a horizontal dynamic text scroller (like latest news ones found on some websites) in flash 8 with as2, and this swf file reads data from a .txt file. the problem is that when change the txt in the file, it doesnt show in my browser until i clear its cache. But if a client doesnt clear cache he will get the old text...I would like to know how to prevent the browser from caching that swf content, any code or script will be most welcomed. I've tried to add <meta> tags in my html but of no use.

I've managed this part ok, however, I want the images to be in a scroll panel so that as the client adds more and more images you can scroll through them. View 8 RepliesI have a dynamic image scroller that scrolls right or left following where the mouse is. When you hover over the images, a pop-up box also appears with information. This scroller works perfectly fine within the mc scene, but once i drag the mc into the main timeline the mc doesn't smoothly scroll right or left. It's jumpy and the infobox doesn't work at all. How can I get it to work smoothly on the main timeline?
View 39 RepliesI was able to get the links working as they should but i can find no way to get the hover effect (not even the doopingTextArea class) I have content coming in through XML (a list of words and link)... I'm trying to create a menu where when you rollover the word the entire background area of that menu item changes color. Just like a CSS menu that creates a hover state that fills the entire background area of that item. Since the content is dynamic, it would need to have a scrollbar that expands/contracts etc.

I am using a method of loading that I am not 100% sure about as I need to make the whole thing scroll left to right style....and right to left....

Now when I am making this scroll I am confused as to what to target to make scroll - the 'image' movieclip is in the library and uses linkage identifer of 'image' for the script... and also seems to sit on the highest layer/depth each time....
I'm using the dynamic scroller found on the kiropa site found here [URL]..In the action script on the ScrollBar, I can't find what variable to change to reset the position of the bar to the top of the scroller when I use the same dynamic text area for other content. It loads just fine, but if the scroller was left at the bottom, it stays there on the new text until you move it a bit, then the text catches up.
I'm hoping to find the variable and reset it when the new text loads.
I have a dynamic text box inside a movie clip which is controlled by a vertical cursor bar.If I use the up or down arrows, everything works fine.The middle cursor button works fine in scrolling text as well. However, once use to either end of the scroll bar, the mouse "sticks" to this and continues dragging!!I have looked at this AS for a long time and can't see the problem.
View 2 RepliesI have this news scroller for work - Vertical member (160 X 600) And the idea is that it has 3 text fields (Headlines). These fields are lined up vertically (one at the top of the scroller, one at the middle, and one at the bottom.). I load them dynamically from XML, and after about 5 seconds, I have them all move up. (the top one goes up the top, and comes back from the bottom, the other two move up). The problem is that I am trying to center justify them. When they're loaded I can center justify them, using this code:

Can someone point me in the right direction to making a functional Smooth Dynamic Scroller just like [URL] (Under Portfolio). I'm not saying "The Same" - I mean like, be able to have two icons that I create (One Up and One Down) then have them function the same as the 2Advanced website. Click and hold, it smoothly rolls down/up, release it stops. Also for it to only scroll as far as the content does.
