View 1 RepliesI have embedded a flv video into my timeline, it uses the flv playback component to play and the SteelExternalAll.swf skin. I would like to control this flv using buttons that I have created that are postioned next to the video player. Ideally, these buttons would be thumbnails, similar to chapter thumbnails on DVDs and would serve a very similar function. As these thumbnail buttons are always present, I want them to change while the movie plays, I think a border around the currently playing would suffice.
The video is nearly 3 mins long, I have made cue points from Sorenson Squeeze.
by following a tutorial on [URL], I was able to display a youtube video in flash, but the problem is that the video doesn't have a control menu. Just wondering if there is a way to make one, either it is customized or some default menu provided by youtube or flash.

As I am using these flash programs in an interface down the road, I have found myself to have trouble with the prebuild flash components. I would like to build my own. I would also like them to be able to only have one clicked at a time.
quick note: I have the buttons both changing their stages in movieclips. Frame 1 is the upstate and frame 2 is the down state.

I'm working on a Flash video slideshow (which you can preview here).
I would like to be able to make it so you can click a button (I've got one made in the doc already) that will make just the video on each "slide" go full screen, similar to how you can do so with other videos on sites like YouTube and others.
While what I've linked to above is just a template I'm messing with, I'd like to be able to have a video on the right, let's say, with text on the left, and then be able to click a button (perhaps under the video that says "full screen) and have the video that is there fill the whole window and play. And then, hitting escape would bring you back.
I've seen plenty of tutorials for making Flash go fullscreen, but nothing out there yet for just the FLV contained on the page go full screen.
So, normally the mouse pointer is the arrow. When it's over something with an on(press) event or some such, it turns into a "pointing finger."
Is there any way to force it to change to some other icon? Specifically, I have a draggable movieclip that I'd like to control with a "grabbing hand" pointer, but Flash insists on making it a "pointing finger," which I feel is a little confusing to users. Is this possible at all?

Whenever I open the page I'll get a popup window with the above errors and once I click "continue" it will go ahead and play the video, but without the control skin. how to get the skin to show up?
Creating a simple video for embedding by importing a video into flash creates a separate swf for the controls. Is there a way to have the controls embedded in the main SWF, so you don't have to worry about paths to the control swf?

The player im falling back to is JQplayer as "player.swf"
The stop button plays as expected. The play/pause button plays as expected. The issue is when you press pause which will cause the play button to appear, then press stop. the video automatically plays and it shouldn't. I have bolded the control button script for convenience.

Flash has an API to control the volume for a Sound object. Can volume be controlled like this currently or is there support planned for <audio> or <video> html5 elements?
