I am building a modified version of a slideshow, using the code from a tutorial: [URL] What I am wondering is if it is possible to cross fade the imagery so that the images don't just fade in, jump to the next image and fade in. Here is the code I'm working with from the tutorial.
modify this tutorial ([URL]) so that it does this: one of the external swf's has a button in it that loads another external swf in a different area of the stage, so now there would be 2 external swf's displayed on stage. Then, when one of the main buttons is clicked, the exit animation of the 2nd swf is played, then the exit animation of the 1st swf is played, then the new external swf is loaded in the same spot that the 1st one was.
I've been slowly expanding my Flash MX knowledge by going through some of the Kirupa tutorials. After completing the Random Letter Cycling tutorial I got an idea of how to modify it. The problem is I don't have a good grasp on writing my own Actionscript yet to try my idea.I can create a single instance of the movie clip (clip1.fla) but I am unsure of how to tie together multiple clips to create my desired idea (example.swf)Does anyone have the time to give me some pointers of how to achieve effect in the attached file? It's based on the tutorial above, but after it runs , it fades out and repeats itself a couple times. Ideally I would like each item to appear for about 2-3 seconds, fade out, and have the new one appear
im tryin to make a mouse swarm effect... where all these little dots swarm around the mouse... im using the physics spring tutorial that pom made... and trying to modify the code so if the distance between the object and the mouse is less than a given value, the inirtia is changed to 1 so it will constantly move... i tried doing that with an if statement cuz thats the only way i can think of doin it... but it doesnt work... um... and secondly, when that gets workin, i want the inirtia to get to a set speed so it wont be shooting off the screen or anything without slowing down... should i set that manually or what... or will it just slow down by itself when it shoots out of the distance range?... anyway heres the code that i modified
I've been looking into how to crossfade externally loaded .jpgs.So far everything I have found deals with slideshows and seems more complicated than what I need.I have created a new Loader that will load a .jpg when the thumbnail of the corresponding image is clicked.I am trying to get the currently loaded image to crossfade upon load completion of the new image being loaded.I'm thinking I can define a variable that is the current image in the loader and then on completion of loading of the new image run a function that fades out the current image and fades in the new image simultaneously.I am having problems trying to identify the currently loaded image of the loader into a variable.
I'm trying to modify Kirupa's xml photo slideshow by adding an extra text field, which if I understand correctly gives each element 3 children (image+text1+text2) instead of 2 (image+text). Even though I've added the third child correctly in the xml, I can't seem to get it to work at all. Here is what I did with the actionscript:
delay = 10000; //----------------------- function loadXML(loaded) { if (loaded) {
[code]....
I've highlighted the parts I've added to the code provided by kirupa's tutorial. sub_text is the instance name I give to the new text field in Flash.
i just followed the tut fmx2004 about the slideshow, it is very good! i just have one question : i would like the slideshow to be started by a click on a button (not run when loaded), and then run infinitly, how do I do that?
I really like this automated slide show tutorial using xml. However, I'm looking for help on why when using a modem connection the file loads the first image and stalls (out of the box, no modifications to the file at this point). I refresh the screen and it starts over and loads the first image and then the second image and stalls again. This stall occurs for each subsequent image until all images are loaded. I did try adding a preloader function in the fla file ... I tired loading the images using a JavaScript array in the body of the html page.
I read all the optimization help file information and help on publishing settings. I tried various published settings with compression, with compression. Tried different fps settings etc. I'm using MX. Downloaded trial versions of MX 2004 and MX 2004 Professional and still not working, as I would like it to on dialups.I have a similar version that is dynamically loading images but is using text files to load the variables. I am very interesting in this one because is uses xml. I tried clipping out the xml code and used it in my other file and I get the same result.
i have a question about text in a slideshow. i know how to make a basic photo slideshow with external images. but now what i want to do is add 4-5 paragraphs of text next to each photo (with possible scrolling). the text will be different on each photo.
I have adapted the kirupa xml slideshow tutorial.However I would like to create a up and down buttons that jog the thumbnails + or - 3 thumb images either way.Is this a case of creating an on (release) action that tells the slider to advance a specified distance??[code]
Would it be possible to use the Kirupa tutorial on "Photo Slideshow Using XML and Flash" and incorporate a dynamic HTML link within the XML so the photos in the slideshow were clickable using Flash MX 2004?[code]
I'm using the Kirupa tutorial of the xml auto slideshow. I need it to stop after it runs through all the images one time.How should I modify the code below in order to do that
delay = 3000; //----------------------- function loadXML(loaded) {
I have downloaded an excellent slide show tutorial from Slideshow.as[URL] and being new to As3 I very basically attached and removed the downloaded slide show on and off the stage with a simple button which fired the following code: addChild(); to make the slides appear and a removeChild(); to remove them. This worked fine until I quickly realised that each time the slide show was re added it had doubled in speed until after a few re loads it was wizzing through
I am following the 3d flash panels tutorial located here. My ActionScript matches exactly to the tutorial at 11:54 excepting the document size because it is different in my document.
Code: Select allpackage [code]..........
I have the TweenLite com folder in the folder that the FLA is located in, and my document class is named PhotoPanels as in the movie, but my images are not rotating as they do in the tutorial at this point.
i am using a slideshow template that I purchased and I wanted to get the images to load randomly, I contacted the author but he wants me to pay him extra for this and I have no money left for this project.basically, I'm looking to add a line to this as2 file that would make the images load randomly without repeating and then start over when the cycle completes. I tried putting in an array but it caused all kinds of errors.
I'm writing a flash site for my wive's photography site.translation.I'm not getting paid. I wrote a slideshow that works great except that the images load all at once. It seems to me they should load one at a time, but they don't and I don't know why. It really slows down the loading of the page. [code]...
I am using a random slideshow on the homepage of my website. It worded perfect when I was testing it locally, but now that I've uploaded it to an external server which is a bit slower, and there is a delay between loading images. Here's the work in progress site: [url]... I know it has to do with the way the actionscript is written, and the order in which functions are carried out. I just cant seem to get it to function the way I would like it to. I would like it to immediately load the first image and display it, then while that first image is displayed I would like it to load the second image. Right now it waits until the first image finishes displaying to load the next image.
I want to create a slideshow of 5 images, with black fade effect in between. So from black to image to black to the next image and so on. Then it stops on the last image. I dont want any buttons or any interactions.
I installed Slideshow pro, with swfobject here: [URL] The flash loads but the images do not. I have double checked the image paths to death and they appear to be correct. Here is the html:
This thing is giving me a headache. See code below. The issue here is that my first image preloads OK, but then the second image gets jammed at 25-30% and never loads. The third and forth image preloads OK and the same issue with the fifth image. And sometimes the issue is on the last 4 images.
Have built a variation of the xml slideshow using the XML basics video - works great but would like to preload the image(s) so they don't "blink" in when loaded (looks like there's a slight delay before it displays the image).
I'm building a slideshow using only ActionScript, but the computer running it will only have access to the files when the show is first started. So I need to somehow load all the images initially, and call on them from within the file itself from then on.
I've created a flash slideshow with a fade-in fade-out effect that pulls a random image from a file containing a bunch of images from an XML file.Now what I'm trying to do is create some type of array that would generate those random images but maybe only 10 or so and just play those 10 images so that there aren't any duplicates one after another from pulling a random image from the file every time.
I am building a slideshow right now using TweenLite as my tween class.Everything works perfectly when I have less than 25 images loaded into it, once I go above that things go south and the tweens appear to not work smooth, sometimes not at all.
My structure is basically:
- I have a sprite on stage called "Main".
- Loop through images, load them and add to the Main sprite as Sprites.
Previously I've done all the monkeywork by hand on the timeline, but now I need to make an automated slideshow for an image portfolio that collects pictures from an external folder (1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, etc...) so I can just upload variants of the image without having to change the flash file each time.
I'm also hoping to include fading transitions and an easy way to change the amount of time each image is on screen.
I have created a simple site in Dreamweaver, I have uploaded the site to a remote server and everything is great but for one thing. I have inserted a Flash image viewer that should show a selection of images, it works fine when launched from Dreamweaver into a browser window such as Firefox. However if I access the site using its domain name and recieving from the remote server no images/slides play.
I have done several things to try and rectify this. Made sure the images are in the root folder. entered 'base' and '.' in the parameters and made sure all image names start with a lower case (linux) and it still doesnt work.
