ActionScript 2.0 :: Make A Mouse Swarm Effect ... Modifying Pom's Tutorial
Apr 24, 2002
im tryin to make a mouse swarm effect... where all these little dots swarm around the mouse... im using the physics spring tutorial that pom made... and trying to modify the code so if the distance between the object and the mouse is less than a given value, the inirtia is changed to 1 so it will constantly move... i tried doing that with an if statement cuz thats the only way i can think of doin it... but it doesnt work... um... and secondly, when that gets workin, i want the inirtia to get to a set speed so it wont be shooting off the screen or anything without slowing down... should i set that manually or what... or will it just slow down by itself when it shoots out of the distance range?... anyway heres the code that i modified
I started another thread where i had gotten help and combined the snow tutorial and the programatic mask tutorial to create particles that reveal an in-focus image over a blurred one. I just need help making the particles swarm around the mouse when it is present and have the particles just float around when not. Presently the random motion is just fine and looks like this (i just inverted the this._x and this._y so that they would go with the mouse direction not away from):
modify this tutorial ([URL]) so that it does this: one of the external swf's has a button in it that loads another external swf in a different area of the stage, so now there would be 2 external swf's displayed on stage. Then, when one of the main buttons is clicked, the exit animation of the 2nd swf is played, then the exit animation of the 1st swf is played, then the new external swf is loaded in the same spot that the 1st one was.
I've been slowly expanding my Flash MX knowledge by going through some of the Kirupa tutorials. After completing the Random Letter Cycling tutorial I got an idea of how to modify it. The problem is I don't have a good grasp on writing my own Actionscript yet to try my idea.I can create a single instance of the movie clip (clip1.fla) but I am unsure of how to tie together multiple clips to create my desired idea (example.swf)Does anyone have the time to give me some pointers of how to achieve effect in the attached file? It's based on the tutorial above, but after it runs , it fades out and repeats itself a couple times. Ideally I would like each item to appear for about 2-3 seconds, fade out, and have the new one appear
I am building a modified version of a slideshow, using the code from a tutorial: [URL] What I am wondering is if it is possible to cross fade the imagery so that the images don't just fade in, jump to the next image and fade in. Here is the code I'm working with from the tutorial.
I would like to make a mouse-over effect on an object. The mouse-over effect should work like this: when the mouse cursor is dragged over the object it should glow, but if the mouse cursor remains over the object it should still glow, but another mouse over effect should occur, showing an info box for the object. Until now I have just made the object as a button, and in the "over" box I have made the object glow, by defining it as a movie clip. However, this only works for the glow part. How do I add another mouse-over effect (which is delayed 1 sec) to the same object?
i am trying to make an image gallery with pan and zoom effect on mouse over ... Now what i want is exactly like the below website .. [URL] & see the website. out here have a look and tell me what script they had used here if u want i can pay for the script
ive been looking everywhere for some sort of wavy line effect tutorial. I just want to make something appear to have a fluid wavelike motion. What I am trying to do is get a giant kelp that i drew in illustrator animated to make it look as if it were under water. What would be the best way to get look?
I trying to make a modification to Lee Brimelow's "Click and Zoom 3D Carousel". What I want to do is make it rotate about every three seconds to the next image (without any mouse interaction). I tried using the timer but didn't really get all that close.
Here is Lee's original code: Code: package { import com.gskinner.motion.GTween; import com.leebrimelow.utils.Math2; import com.theflashblog.fp10.SimpleZSorter; import fl.motion.easing.Exponential; import flash.display.Loader; [Code] .....
Ive just done the following tutorial: [URL] When the mouse goes to the edges, half the ball will disapear off the stage, can i make it so that when the ball reaches the edge, the whole ball stays within view?
i want an action script or tutorial for dynamic text that follow the mouse..i seen some but it work only for plash player 5 and action script 1..so if any one can give me action or tutorial for flash cs3.
I was wondering how you change the text colour with action script. The Kirupa mouse trail tutorial I was looking at has the following script for the text:
letterformat = new TextFormat(); letterformat.font = "Verdana"; letterformat.align = "center";
I'm using Flash CS3 and ActionScript 2.0. I am trying to use the "ComplexButton RollOver/RollOut Effect" tutorial. [URL]. It works for the most part. But, when I publish the .fla file and view it in Internet Explorer, instead of the button beginning small then, after rollover, large. It begins large. Skips. Then works perfectly the remainder of the time on the browser.
Interactive Image Panning [URL]...Tutorial and the
Easing on Mouseclick [URL]... Now i tried to combine these 2 together and nothing happens , either 1 works or the other one works but never the 2 together.... [URL]...
i was trying to make a soundbar control with the tutorial that appears in this page: [URL] But there's a problem, when i play the swf movie, the sound starts in the 0% of volume, i want it to be in the 100% because if it doesn't, it will be never be listened. And in the other hand, i will like that the play button could change into a pause one and make the action of pause the music, not to stop it.
I want to be able to make a movie clip (that acts as a button) so the roll over effect finishes before the roll off effect is triggered. Like if a marker circles a button, i want the circling animation to stop before the roll off effects happens. Anyone know how to do this.
I'm trying to fill a movieclip with a seamless pattern, so in essense its pretty much the same as Kirupa's Duplicate Background tutorial. I'm having trouble converting the AS from filling the background to filling a movieclip
Here's the original code: [AS]tileBG = function () { tile_width = 34;
I sent an email to pom regarding a tutorial that he wrote, but the email was bounced and he hasn't replied to my PM. I have followed both of pom's tutorials that involve experiments with perspective in Flash, but I have encountered a problem while attempting to duplicate a movie clip symbol in the second tutorial ([URL]). I have a single instance of the "ball" movie clip symbol appearing at random positions. However, I cannot seem to successfully duplicate the symbol instance at random positions using the loop that pom provided:
I have built a catalog in flash that was orginally built in InDesign and exported but it has some small content that is hard to read for the elderly users viewing it and I would like to add a zoom feature or some type of magnifying glass.
original: I really just need to figure out how to center the pictures. here is what I did I have modified the tutorial that I finished to have a bigger stage for bigger pictures. Everything is working properly but the pictures are displayed on the left side, I want to have them centered in the stage for the images, after clicking on the thumbnails, plus my images are different sizes as well. ranging from 200x410 to 744x410 but all are the same height of 410. i will post up what I am talking about at the end. I believe it is something within either the action script or the xml coding that allows the position of the image to be differently? please help here is what i am talking about[URL] Continued: Here is my coding in action script:
I'm using Adobe CS4 Professional flash to create the basis of the website, a photo background with an interactive menu overlay on top. Does anyone know any good tutorials for an interactive menu (roll you mouse over certain things and the sub-menu comes up which lead to other pages of the site etc.)
I know Halloween is allready over, but blood dripping text is always good, right? I have recently found a nice tutorial/source on a dripping blood text effect. Since I can't post links yet, I'll just tell you how to get to the tutorial. Go to the Math and Flash website, then to Flash CS4 tutorials and then to Spooky Effects in AS3 Flash: Text Dripping Blood.What I'd like to do is have a button and if I hover my mouse over it, blood starts dripping down. I can't figure out how to do this though... I am kind of new to ActionScript 3.0 and recently made the switch from ActionsScript 2.0, since I want to do more then just gotoandPlay();.
