I'm using Adobe CS4 Professional flash to create the basis of the website, a photo background with an interactive menu overlay on top. Does anyone know any good tutorials for an interactive menu (roll you mouse over certain things and the sub-menu comes up which lead to other pages of the site etc.)

View 1 RepliesI'm creating a webpage, and I have made some buttons.Image 1 is the homepage, which is frame 1 in Flash.Image 2 shows that when I rollover the button "Portfolio,"I get a dropdown menu.I have this set as frame 3 in Flash.Image 3 shows that I've gone down the dropdown menu and rolled over "Photography." But if I rollout of any of the things from the dropdown menu, it stays at Image 2 (Frame 3)with the dropdown menu visible. Which is a problem...I want to be able to rollout of these buttons to revert back to the homepage, Image 1 (Frame 1).But, for instance, telling "Graphic Design" to go to Frame 1 on rollout means that if I try to go below "Graphic Design" to "Photography," I've rolled out--and so the rest of the menu disappears.So I want to roll be able to select anything from the dropdown menu, and only rollout to Frame 1 if I go outside the entire dropdown menu, not just one button.

I have designed a menu that When you mouse over it, a custom cursor appears. When you mouse down it disappears and when you mouse up it returns. If you happen to mouse down and then drag the mouse off of the menu (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up outside the menu, the custom cursor disappears. All good. The only issue is: If you happen to mouse down on the menu and then drag the mouse off of the menu AND off of the stage, i.e the SWF (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up completely off of the stage, the custom cursor appears at the point it left the menu. I have tried to fix this using MOUSE_LEAVE but this dosnt work when the mouse button is pressed down. I have attached an FLA, SWF and the AS below.

I'm creating an animated (in and out) drop down menu. I've managed to get the menu to open when the user mouses over, with the buttons all selectable. However I can't seem to find an efficient method of making the drop down menu close whenever the mouse is not over the menu. Actions:

Basically when you click a menu button I want an mc of a box to tween with easing to that button as an indicator as to what section the user is currently viewing.

I have a menu bar that when a user mouses over it, a second menu slide out beneath it.when I move my mouse off the first menu bar, the second menu bar disappears. Im not sure how to organize my hit areas so that the second bar stays even if I mouse off the first menu bar.

I have created this site with a expanding / collapsin menu. When a user selects a menu e.g. "hammers" then the menu is loaded and show the submenues. When the users closes the menu by moving the mouse away from the area the menu collapses. If the user expands the menu again the menu should have remember the last visit menu and show the menu.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a Roll Out Menu, using a Button with a Movie Clip in its Over state. The problem that I'm running into is that when I roll off of the button the Roll Out Menu disappears. Is there any way that I can keep it out? I know that I could probably make this work by having the button itself have an invisible shape that covers where the Roll Out will appear, but then it will overlap the other Button's Roll Out Menu. Also, if it matters, the Menu is vertical and is something like this:

(the site is in portuguese but it doesnt matter), when I click in on menu the actual menu does an alpha to 0 and the next menu appears using the alpha from 0 to 100 (and some animations like the cellphone going up).Now, how can I do a menu like that, whatever the menu I choose, it does that alpha animation ?

I had a flash template with nav button menu and sub button menu, in flash player the menu and sub menu works for different pages, but sub menu do not work in web page, whatever page goes, it always load sub menu for home.

Client has a flash navigation menu on his website. When the site is accessed via [URL] the hardcoded links in the flash nav load pages properly. When accessing the website via the [url] the site navigation links can not load the proper pages and instead just redirect the user to the root domain.
I assume this can be fixed with a change to the .htaccess but I do not know how flash handles these links.
