Drop Down Menu Occasionally Get Stuck When Roll The Mouse Over The Button Too Quickly

The buttons on this drop down menu ocassionally get stuck when I roll the mouse over the button too quickly. I am working in Flash and running in the project of Flash Player 8.
So I have a menu that fades in on a movie clip rollover. It fades out when the mouse rolls out over a 'hit area' mc. All is working fine except when you move fast off the hit area. Sometimes the fade in menu remains up when the mouse should have traveled over the hit area and told it to fade out... any reccomendations to remedy this?
Each time I make a drop down menu I face some problems, For example, when I use tweening to roll out a menu ( via ROLL_OVER/ ROLL_OUT), sometimes the menu gets stuck, or starts flickering after it is rolled out if I move the cursor away, and move back on it.
How could I solve this, should I use a timer to disable the button until the tween finishes (or this would be good for nothing)?
I have a working drop down menu that works when moused over and moused out. The only problem is if you mouse over the other main links the drop menu stays down. So when I mouse over "articles(main link)" the menu drops and I can mouse up and down over the sub menus. When I mouse off the sub menus the menu disappears. Sounds good right.
So the problem comes in when I mouse over "articles(main link)" and then "about(main link)" or other main links the drop menu stays down. I have tried alpha, visible, remove child and many more. I have put a link to my fla
I'm using Adobe CS4 Professional flash to create the basis of the website, a photo background with an interactive menu overlay on top. Does anyone know any good tutorials for an interactive menu (roll you mouse over certain things and the sub-menu comes up which lead to other pages of the site etc.)
i got the drop down menu to come down once rolled over but it cancels out all other actions meaning it cancels the functions of the rest of the menu none of my other buttons work nowhow can i fix this?each button has its own action ie:
I've been going through some tutorials and samples of "drag and drop" flash movies and I always come upon the same bug. The drop target gets "stuck" to the mouse, and when I click the target it just drops down and doesn't return to its orig. position. I'm creating an animated (in and out) drop down menu. I've managed to get the menu to open when the user mouses over, with the buttons all selectable. However I can't seem to find an efficient method of making the drop down menu close whenever the mouse is not over the menu. Actions:

I have a animation which plays from frame 1 to 10 and then stops. I have this animation inside a button. I have this button on the stage. Now when i play the movie, the animation in the button is played once. What i now want is that i want the movie to play once every time the mouse is rolled over this button.
I have 4 flyout buttons on my flash and when you RollOut of the button, it plays the closing animation. But if you quickly move the mouse back onto the button before it is finished playing the RollOut, then it gets stuck and flashes and kind of strobes.

I have an MC "homeBtn" that I'm using as an animated button. The "homeBtn" is made of 2 mirroring MC's named "topMC" and "bottomMC" since they mirror and function the same I will be addressing only the "topMC" Inside "topMC" is the animation named "liquidMC" These are all MC properties. Below is the AS3 Code. Works well but when the mouse scrolls out the animation is stuck ie stops animating and not going back to frame 1
I have a home page thing. all the buttlons fly in and such all i need is so when a mouse hovers over a button it lights up or the brightness increases and when you remove the mouse from the button it goes back to normal please help me out.
I am an extreme novice in Flash and I've built a drop down menu following a tutorial from YouTube - sadly this took me days! It functions BUT fast mouse movement away from the menu drop down seems to prevent the drop down menu from closing. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
Second question - I know how to create text links but when I do this the text's position jumps down without me having told it to. So is there a way to apply a link to a button rather than the text in the button, and is it possible to also apply a link to a movie clip?[URL]...
I have 4 mcs across my stage (slightly overlaping eachother) and I'm using the following swapDepths script on each of the different mc rollovers...

When I publish with fp6 (AS 2.0) is works great but with fp7 (AS 2.0) the swap depths sometimes acts weird. When moving the mouse across the different mcs it occasionally brings the new mc to the top (like it should) and puts the previous one back to the bottom (when the previous one should stay directly below the new one).
I want to create a button that toggles but has a roll over, roll out and click animation. Anyone willing to point me in the direction I need to be so that I can achieve this. I can create the roll over and roll out animation for the buttons but then how could I toggle between the two buttons. Ultimately this is for a start and stop situation. I want when I roll over the button for it to have a transition then click and it toggles to the alternate button with animation. I have been tackling this now for a week and with no success. So far I have found ways to toggle but loose the animation or vice verse.

When I roll over the MC tween small to big and big to small and when roll out the MC gradually small. What I want is when I roll over the MC tween small to big and keep it is except when I roll out.
i built this navigation bar where there is an arrow and menus - when u roll over a menu the arrow slides to it....now what i'm trying to do is that when u press a menu and then u roll over another menu and when u roll out that menu it slides back to the pressed menu - like a magnet affect..

I am by no means an actionscript genius. I took a tutorial online to figure out how to do a drop down menu. It is all visually functional but when I click a sub-menu item it wont work. For example, if I click the "company" tab on my website, there are 2 options: "about us" and "contact us". In my time frame we are sitting on frame 200. I have added the following actionscript to the "about us" sub-menu button:

I had to change bits as I have the initial glowing animation in there too. Im just trying to get it to work at the moment. A Blue box should appear beneath the button (Once I get it working I will change this to an actual button of course) when the mouse rolls over the button (aswell as the glow animation playing). The problem is that the blue box doesnt appear, the glow animation still plays but no box. In other words, it isn't going to the "open" label on the timeline for some reason.
I have a menu for a website I'm making that consists of buttons that play a drop-down menu movie clip when the mouse moves over them. The problem is, if the user moves the mouse off the button the movie clip stops playing and disappears. I would like it so that if the user moves the mouse away from the button, the drop-down movie clip will reverse itself from its current position and move back up into the button.I've been trying to use the on (rollout) condition, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

i was doing a drag and drop game. i created 2 drop down function to drop the object. the problem i faced was, when i drag and drop the object to the target, one of my function does not work? WHY? By right my oncomplete function should able to go to and stop at frame 2. here is the code.
