I am trying to create a zoom/pan effect for an image gallery. The thing is that i dont have any idea on how to do it so I've started to play with it. I created a zoom button that basically make the image bigger and a mask for the image so no matter how big you going to scale it its going to show the masked area only and if I want to pan all I have to do is move the image inside of the mask.
But my problem is that I use a MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN event on the zoom in button and the function scale it up and position it in the center only once. What I want to do is as long as the user have is mouse down the image will zoom and when the user releases the mouse it's going to stop. Thats the effect that im trying to achieve [URL]. But the cool thing about this gallery is that when you zoom in or out it actually ease out or in and stop and it run's really smooth.

I have 9 images on my stage laid out like a photo collage. Would like to create a user action that when their mouse rollsover an image that image zooms in, when the user moves mouse to next image, it does the same for each 9 images. Is this possible? As mentioned I am a Big Newbie to Flash, only have taken one online class,

I'm trying to find out how to make a simple image gallery which changes image upon a mouse click on a button, when a button is pressed I want the image to slide in from the left into the viewable area and then when another image is selected I want the previous image that was viewed to remain in the screen and then the new image slide across over the top to replace the image.
I can get the images to slide across from the left upon a mouse click however I can't change the layer order so if image 6 is viewed and then I click to see image 1, the image will slide into place however it will be below image 6 so therefore not viewable.
I don't have an example of what I'm after but I hope my explanation was good enough, I've seen this been done in javascript but I have to use flash and am unable to replicate the effect I'm after

So basically what I want is to have all my photos kind of scattered on the page like they`re just lieing there kind of. When you click one, that single photo zooms up to almost fill the page and rotates to go from crooked to straight. And then a button would appear saying Back to have it zoom back out to it`s place. kind of like this one click Woodward on the left, then click The Camp)

I want to introduce a canvas component by zooming from a height & width of 0.0 to 1.0. I want the component to be invisible until the zoom begins and then for it to be visible when it begins zooming.
However, if I bind the zoom effect to a showEffect trigger on the component and then make the component visible, it will first show the component at its regular size for a split second before it begins the zoom effect. If I combine the zoom effect and setting the component visible together in a parallel, it will also flash the component at its regular size for a split second before the zoom. If I make the component visible when the zoom effect starts through its effectStart event, it still does it. Does anyone know how to make it visible only when the zoom effect begins so that it doesn't flash the component at its regular size for a split second before the zoom effect?

I need to be able to zoom in on my image, but I cant get it to work properly. I've got an Image showing my content, and it get it's content from a BitmapData. The BitmapData is full-res, which is 2880x1620, and the Image is scaling to fit my window. The SmoothImage is the same as Image, but with smoothing added.

How would I go about zooming this image when I scroll my mouse? This is the code I have, and it does change the scaling factor. But since it's set to fit my view, nothing happens...

This code works fine but i want it to zoom in and out from the center of the stage where ever that point of the picture is.Right now it zooms in and out from the registration point in the upper left corner where I load in the image.

Im currently designing a map with a drag and drop action as well as a zoom in and out with the mouse wheel, my problem is that when i drag and drop my image and then go to zoom in or out the image will automatically reposition itself back to the center, im wanting to be able to drag the image which is converted to a MC anywhere in my masked box then zoom in and out on that area that is shown is the masked box,

There is an Image control that when I click on it I need to zoom in (using the center/transform point where the mouse is clicked). I have the zoom transition working great, but when I set transformX & tranformY (with autoCenterTransform false) it doesn't zoom into that point.
Here is my code that only zooms in (not to a specific point)

We have an alpha effect to the image animation when the image is loading. The affect is working fine (fade in).
But, when the next image is loading, we want fade out alpha affect to the current image before the next image loads.

I would like to make a mouse-over effect on an object. The mouse-over effect should work like this: when the mouse cursor is dragged over the object it should glow, but if the mouse cursor remains over the object it should still glow, but another mouse over effect should occur, showing an info box for the object. Until now I have just made the object as a button, and in the "over" box I have made the object glow, by defining it as a movie clip. However, this only works for the glow part. How do I add another mouse-over effect (which is delayed 1 sec) to the same object?

I have an image gallery thats a group of links that plays on a timeline. It scrolls and repeats, giving a smooth continuity. I've set up and ENTER_FRAME event to a listener of the stage, a Boolean variable based on mouseY conditionals for true and false, and passed a true value to mouseX conditionals that controls the timeline with prevFrame() and nextFrame() methods.
All is fine in the original swf, but once I load it into my flash page those mouseX and mouseY values no longer represent the stage upon which the swf was originally created, that stage doesn't exist. Instead its new parents stage has spanned those parameters far across the page, even making it possible to control playback outside of the page itself. How can I either separate the swf's stage from its parent or re-establish the parameters I had originally set for it?

im tryin to make a mouse swarm effect... where all these little dots swarm around the mouse... im using the physics spring tutorial that pom made... and trying to modify the code so if the distance between the object and the mouse is less than a given value, the inirtia is changed to 1 so it will constantly move... i tried doing that with an if statement cuz thats the only way i can think of doin it... but it doesnt work... um... and secondly, when that gets workin, i want the inirtia to get to a set speed so it wont be shooting off the screen or anything without slowing down... should i set that manually or what... or will it just slow down by itself when it shoots out of the distance range?... anyway heres the code that i modified

Is there a way to make the transparent area from an png image not to register when I add with a mouse event to that image? What is happening is the rectangle around the symbol is effected by the mouse event.
