I have a page with height of 2800px. On this page I place a menu up of the page. As I scroll the page down, the menu disappears ( it still stays up). What I need is the menu to remain on the level of the page, where I am just, while I am scrolling the page. Something like on the this website http:[url].... By the way it doesn't have to be menu, I mean any mc that I want it to be moving on that page like that.

View 6 RepliesIm working on a website for school, and im doing it through flash. The server ive been given is being taken up by thousands of pages, so its slow. Instead of loading each page through HTML, ive decided i could do a seperate frame for each page. However, to reach the menu at the bottom, you have to scroll down. Is there any way to make it so that when you click a button to load a different page for the flash player to scroll up all the way to the top of the page itself?

Is there any tutorial showing how to do a slide show where the images are loaded dynamically through XML and when I move the mouse to left or right, the images moves aside left or right depending where the mouse cursor is please. I have around 100 small images to show. No need any fancy effects, it's simple the image sliding according the mouse position (left / right).

I am loading html text into a dynamic textfield, and I have a scrollbar controlling the scroll using the code below. What I want to do is also add scroll up/down buttons and have the scroll bar move in relation to the text scroll. I was just going to use "tracklistingtext.scrollV -- " for the scroll buttons, but right now the scroll bar doesn't recognize the text movement. What do I need to do to get the scroll bar to listen to the text scroll position?

I have a project in flash. The most simple part of the animation renders horribly. I am trying to get the animation of the year 2009 in letters that occupy most of the 500x500px screen to go from left to right. No extra movement. no twisting. nothing special. just sliding left to right. I tried making the file a bitmap, vector art, creating the actual image in flash. Everything comes in with lines through them in some places that come and go away as the image progresses through the screen. It also looks like the image stumbles a little but then keeps going, if you are really lucky, you'll be able to see a few lines running through the letters, but they dissapear right away. The is nothing interfering with the timeline, I have tried setting the fps rate from 12 to 30 to 60 to 120. It gets better but does not eliminate the problem. I tried reducing the image size down to small letter less then 1/5 of the screen, but still the problem persists. I really need the letters to be large on the screen and flow across smoothly. I also tried importing the file as a whole 2009, tried importing numbers seperatly 2, 0, 0, 9 and have them float, i tried making an object in flash that is not a number - but just a rectangle, it has the same problem.I also tried animating it in different ways - creating a starting keyframe and the last keyframe and creating a motion tween between them (the normal regular way). I tried placing a few keyframes in the middle and linking them all. I tried creating keyframes for every frame within the animation, which actually made it run the smoothest.
The file I included has just the 2 moving across the page at 120 fps, with a keyframe in every frame of the animation. I am starting to think that the rendering in not the issue of flash but rather of the lcd screen's refresh rate, video card and ram, as well as other mechanical factors. However the not-so-technical-clients need to be satisfied .

I want to learn actionscript properly, but it's for my final project for school and I'm a bit short with time. I'm in a design course, so they don't bother to teach us coding (design courses are lame, I should have gone with programming), but I really wanted to know how to create this effect in order to make what I had in mind.

The trouble i'm having is when you are at the bottom of a page and click to the next page it will show the next page at the exact same position as the previous.
Is there a script so where when you click to the next page it returns the top?

I have an AS2 site where all the pages are different lenghts and have navigation at the top and the bottom.
When you click on the bottom navigation on one of the longer pages in order to get to another shorter page, you land on the same place where the bottom navigation was on the page before; ie you land at the bottom of the page.
How can I get around this so that every time you land on a new page it has scrolled to the top?
I'm working on building a personal portfolio site right now. I wanted to add a scroll feature to one the pages. I wasn't sure how to build it, so I down loaded one off here [URL] and just plugged my own graphics into it. It scrolls up and down just fine, but when I try to put a mask over it, it doesn't work. In the content the author wrote for his movie he says "Note: If you want to have a mask over the content: copy MC:frame and make it a mask for MC:Page. If you do so, notice that "non-anti-alias text" is not possible anymore. This is a common thing in a Flash Movie. I keep trying that and it just blocks everything out all together. So what am I doing wrong?

I have a Flex application, I want to scroll the page to bottom when a button is pressed.Scroll bars is added by browser, they do not belong to flex app or component.I can do this by javascript but is there a way to do this with action script?

I then tried to add the 750 x 300 panning image as a movie clip as part of a larger stage (750 x 550), so that it was a band across part of the stage with static content above and below. When tested the scroll keeps going off the end of the image? How you can add the interactive scroll as an element of a page rather than just on its own without the scroll going off the end of the image?
View 11 RepliesWhen drawing on the stage, any upward movement of my scroll wheel scrolls the screen by at least half a screen width, if not more. Scrolling down works as normal, equivilent to a few lines at a time.This problem seems to only exist in Adobe Flash. No issue in Chrome, Adobe Reader, Inkscape or any other program I've run. I've attempted to adjust the mouse settings, but they have no effect. Even disabling verticle scroll does not nothing. Currently I'm using a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 6000 with Windows 7. I've tried using other mice and they've suffered the same fate. I've also tried updating the drivers as well as cleaning them out and reinstalling them. Nothing works. I've googled and searched these forums but have found nothing related to this.

it moves fine and stuff but i was wondering how can i restrict the area in which the movieclip can actually move ? my flash file is 550px X 400px and i want to make it so that it can only move in 300px X 200px of the file if you understand ?
I've attached a demo fla so you can see what I'm trying to do. Basically the big circle is a spaceship that will move to wherever you click. The small circle is a resource that the ship can collect, in this case it's called iron. When you click on the iron the ship moves to it and then the small circle disappears, and +1 is added to your inventory, creating the illusion that the ship has collected it. Problem is, after you collect the iron, you can't really move the ship anymore. It's stuck around the position where the iron was. How do I regain control of the ship after I collect the iron?
