ActionScript 2.0 :: Protection Of Data - Encrypt Data Delivered To An SWF

I know, yet another topic on protection. I think we've established the fact that you will almost always will be able to decompile a SWF, but that's not exactly what my question is about. I have a client who wants to show data (some html and css) in a Flash movie. This content will be delivered from an external source and will be passed through to the SWF. The main idea is not to be able to copy-paste the html. Of course, if you use a flashvar to pass the html-source or html-page to the SWF, it's easy to look it up in de pagecode. So perhaps a sollution is to encrypt the html before sending it through to the SWF and decrypt it inside the SWF. But of course, you would need some sort of key that's hardcoded inside the SWF file to decrypt the information ... which is a problem if you can decompile an SWF. So my question is, is there any way to encrypt data delivered to an SWF so it's impossible to directly access the data?

I would like to implement some security in some of the Flash/PHP applications that I have. I have some Flash apps that communicate with PHP files, and the PHP is sending the data as get string (E.g.: name=John&sname=Doe&age=24&balance=12.4). Instead of all these variables, I would like it to send a single variable (E.g.: flashvar=jr9afgaw9-fg90agfawf7gw) that would contain those values, so then Flash would decrypt the string and get the real and useful vars.
I want to encrypt this using a private key and use the same private key to decrypt this inside Flash. If someone would want to decode the message PHP sends, he would have to decompile the flash file and find the private key I'm using in Flash to decode the message and then decode it. The reason I posted here is because I want to use an encryption algorithm that allows only the use of a private key for encryption/decryption.

Basically I've set up a scoreboard for a flash game I've made for a client. Now the scoreboard works fine but apparently it's not very secure. One of the clients friends was able to add a score of 100,000 without even playing the game. This is quite a big problem as they are planning on doing a competition with prizes for the highest scores.
What's the normal way to encrypt data on a scoreboard? The scores are stored in a MySQL database btw.

I got a music portfolio web site running PHP, MySQL and Flash. There's a page showing all the artists my client worked for and when you click on a song title, this title is passed as a variable to a PHP page then to a Flash page. The Flash page contains an actionscript music player which then looks for the right audio file in the database and plays the song. Everything works great except for the dynamic text field which displays the song title. If the song title contains an apostrophe or a single quote, the Flash dynamic text field then shows the apostrophe.[code]

Im trying to use dynamic SQL tables on my PHP server so I need to pass the table name to the PHP script. I don't understand why the Data Management system that sets up CRUD won't allow this extra parameter. It says it can only have one input: item. I can get all records, but when I try to create, update, or delete I get an error.
Or is there another way I can pass the tablename variable to the php file before I call any functions?

Im new to placing external data into Flash. I just got CS3 and Im trying to use Flash to dynamically load XML data via a FlashVars call in the HTML.
The problem is I have followed the very straight forward AS2 Help files for using FlashVars and URL variables.I have placed the code directly from the Help file into the Html between

I'm trying to read some data in from a sql source, some of which contains double quotes embedded in the text. I know I can strip the doublequotes, but don't want to go that route if I can avoid it. I've tried replacing to double quotes with hex codes before passing the text via parameter to my flash file, but the text string always cuts off at the hex code, the same as if the double quote were present in the string. In flex 3 I have a hierarchical data structure. I would like to display the content of it in a tree. My problem is that I have nodes which data calculated from children nodes. How to structure the hierarchy to make automatic changes to those parent nodes, if their children's data changed? For example:
Every node has a warning flag. If some of the children warning flag changed to true, then the parent warning flag should change automatically set to true. A node integer field is the sum of the children integer fields, and if any of the children changes, the parent integer field "calculates" the sum immediately. Is there an easy solution wit good structuring changes happen automatically, or I have to make some custom functions?

I want to separate the data from the PHP call to Different CollectionArrays So that I can use the data for a bar-graph;
I created a static version of the bar-graph and separated the Collection array manually I don't want this done manually I need to do it dynamically. I've got a Gridcolumn in a Datagrid (Spark). The Column's dataprovider is a Number value that gets updated via Binding.Now, without an item renderer the cell displays the correct values.If I set an item renderer, I can't access the values in this renderer.My renderer looks like this, so nothing really do here (for now) but to trace the value, but the value is always NaN.

I have been goggling a lot to find anything with link-based data visualization in Flex 4. something like below screen shoot (made using Ravis). Where user can drag these nodes, without removing the links and on double click of any node we can set some properties for that particular node. I found this Ravis (Birdeye), but not much of examples and support is available for that.

Been butting my head against the wall on this one. Im making a news app that loads xml data and diplays the data onto 3 seperate textfields. The 3rd textfield has auto size set to true, so that the height of each instance of the attached movie is always going to be different from each other. I need to figure out how to get the height from each instance of the attached movie and use those numbers for the verticle tiling so that they dont run into each other.
heres what I got so far. Its the "duke news" box. If you scroll down in the news box, you will see that the text starts running into each other.

I will be creating a program to use for data entry. I'll be studying zebras in kenya and I won't have the internet there as I'm recording the data. I'd like to be able to send the data I generate in flash to an external text file. I understand I need some sort of script to do that, but is this something I can run just on my machine? I'm creating a small app to run from CD-Rom/local installation that will use multiple shared objects for data storage. To ensure proper saving without surprising the user with a permissions dialog unexpectedly, I'd like to request unlimited data storage on first time app launch - Joey Lott shows how to do this in the Actionscript Cookbook... request=mySO.flush(1024 * 500);
My question is,Can I perform this permissions request with the user a single time with a generic app SO in global fashion, so that the permissions would be set for any SOs created during the use of the product (all written to same SO directory),or do I have to request
permissions for each and every SO created? Since the latter would be unacceptable from a UE standpoint, that means stuffing all app data into a single SO which doesn't seem so great from a data config perspective...

I have an xml file (externally saved) that is similar to the following:

What I like to do is to get what's in [title] tag using HTTPservice, import it into Flex, and save it as array objects, and do the same thing for [content]. This way I can later refer the array object saying title[0] or content[2].

I have a DataGrid whose dataProvider is an Array of int Arrays (each with different lengths). Since each row has variable size (and I want to display all the data), I decided to extend DataGridColumn and overwrite the itemToLabel function to be able to display the data. The problem is that I also need to display the data differently depending on the int value.
I believe the only solution is to write an itemRenderer, but the only input the itemRenderer.set(data) function receives is the entire int Array. I believe I need either the exact string returned by itemToLabel or the column index of the cell the itemRenderer is for (to basically do the same parsing I implemented in itemToLabel).

I am using the flash platfrom to create a player that will load sound that have 8KHz sampla data rate, but the default data rate is 44.1KHz.
Is this somehow possible?
Is it even possible to use also 4KHz?
Also is it possbile to get 16bit sample, not the default 32bit?

i am looking for some kind of library which does CRUD easily using PHP and MYSQL.My goal is to make some app in flash AS3.0 , where i will be receiving some data from user and storing in data base , and perform CRUD opertaions. I dont want to be so much involved in writing php and sl query.My scenario is:
Data types : [ like user_profile data, etc]
add under data types 1 to many fields with various types..
Database tables and realtions etc should be done by my DREAM library, then user when select a Dtat Type, he is presented with related fields to fill up data.
I will be using Flash AS3.0 ( Builder or IDE ) to perform .If only i can find some php library i think AMFPHP can connect flash with php

I have a problem with creating instances from classes created from embedded data taken from an external .swf which has loaded into its library various images exported to ActionScript as BitmapData.What confounds me is that, of 22 images that I'm loading, 14 of them work fine and can be instantiated and displayed to the screen in a test program. The rest of them throw Error #2136, "The SWF file contains invalid data."I'm using Flash CS4 with Flex 3.4.
