ActionScript 2.0 :: Reloading Variables From Database

I have a flash header that receives random text from a database through a PHP page. I'm using the loadVariables function to bring in the first random text and that works fine. I then have a button that should access the PHP again and retrieve another random text set from the database (once again using the loadVariables function).
Whenever I use the loadVariables function on the button to renew the random text, it brings up the same text over and over again. When I use loadVariablesNum it works, but opens up a blank page with the output of the variables (getURL also works, opening up a blank page).
Is there a way for me to use the loadVariablesNum without having the page popup with the variables printed out? Or better yet, is there a way to just use the loadVariables to renew the info?

I want to reload the movieclip on the click of a button and at the same time change the variable for the text file to be opened into the text box. so as i click content, the variable changes to content and the movieclip reloads, showing content.txt in the text box

I have 6 variables that load into 6 different dynamic text boxes. They all load fine when I load them, but only the first one updates after 6 seconds. I have them all set to update after 6 seconds. Here is the code that is working fine followed by the code that isn't. I'm using CS5.5
1st Box that works fine:

I know there were many messages posted regarding sending variables from flash to php. I wrote a small code where in I used send() method of LoadVar object, it sends the message but it reloads the php page which I do not want it to do. I tried using sendAndLoad() and here it does not send any variable at all. Below is my sample code.

I'm trying to load the variables from a database into my flash file but I'm unsure what to use. I know for XML it's
var myXML:XML;
myXML= new XML(e.target.data);
but i'm not sure what the type is if it is coming from a database? I sent it the database via php and need to receive it back into flash. Even a reference so I can go look, I'm just not sure what class to begin with.

I am using Freddy Thunder's tutorial on how to make a login script with php/mySQL The problem is that the button doesn't do anything when I click it. I can't tell if it goes to the php script, but it sure doesn't return the correct variables like it is supposed to.

My cfm script pulls the contents of database fine. (a cfoutput reveals variables). In flash however I cannot see my dynamic variables.

I'm making a game and I need to load variables into my flash movie from a database.My problem is that when I try to load the data into flash, it won't let me use the variables. If I put a dynamic textfield on the stage with fname (one of my variables), the text field diplays the correct data, but when I say trace(fname) with having the text field, "undefined" pops up.

I want to create a Flex 3 application running in Adobe Air that accesses an SQLite database and I need to keep this database in sync with an SQL server 2005 database running a website.Is this something that Flex supports or is it going to be a custom script? Also, has anybody done anything like this?
Edit: The synchronisation can be done on a daily basis rather than real time. The data will be read only from a front end perspective with a CMS to do updates on the website.

I have researched this issue all over and most people say use the .refresh() method to update a datagrid after updating or adding a new record. This does not do anything. So, my issue is this. I have a mySQL database hosted I am connecting via PHP, I have 1 mxml file and 2 php files (I know I can use just 1 but I am learning and this was easier for me to use for troubleshooting). The issue is no matter what I change on the datagrid the update does not show on the datagrid unless I close out of IE and reopen it. I can refresh or open the page in another window and the update does not show. I have to exit entirely and restart in order for any updates or additions to show.Here is my licenseTracker.mxml

I am working on a function to generate a form at runtime in Flex based on a call to the DB. The call to the DB returns the field types, id, tooltips etc as an arraycollection, the arraycollection is then parsed in order to ascertain what control to display based on the type field in the array - this bit works fine.However, i am stuck on trying to save the form fields back to the database using a CFC.my form rendering code is as follows but how do i save values entered back to the database? rendering code..

I have updated the mxml code to only show the needed code for the program to run the update.
I am new to Flex and have an issue I hope you all can help me out with.

I am planning on using Flash Builder 4/Flex to write an AIR application which is primarily based around recording, storing and analyzing data.I'll be creating charts etc that need to update in almost real time.It's essential to me that the application be able to function without an internet connection so I need a local database of some variety,but I would also eventually like to build in online synchronization of the data where either database can be update each other based on newer information. Moreover, some type of encryption would definitely be welcome, and speed is a large concern
Synchronization: Primarily updates/additions/deletions will be done on the offline database, but ideally I want to have a web interface that will allow the same updates/additions/deletions and will be synced (beyond that I'm not sure exactly how to do it as I can model that based on what is most achievable).I'm wondering if there's any prebuilt engine that could handle the synchronization of 2 databases. I may end up having the web interface only be for additions, which would be significantly easier to sync.. and I may start that way, but i want to build with technologies that will best allow me to implement full online crud at some point.

Here is the issue: a client wants his entire equipment inventory accessible by persons navigating to his jquery mobile site. The inventory that exists on the desktop site was, as I understood, built with Flex. Is it possible to access this database for the jquery mobile site? I believe it is. I know j2se for the desktop and oracle SQL/MySQL i finally got the feeling that i need to learn PHP anyway along with css and javascript. So it is fine. Also another query. I have build a simple flash application to try to make changes to an xml and save it. The application has two buttons: load xml - that loads the xml and write xml - that saves whatever is in the textbox to the xml. Then when pressing load xml again, it should load the modified xml.

I have frame 1 and frame 2 which are almost the same. Both have a movie clip TAB. This tab has buttons: button 1, button 2, button 3. When I click button 1, it will show a text, and so on..If I am at frame 1, and I click button 2, it is ok. But when I go to frame 2, TAB movieclip is still at button 2! I think it is not reloading.

URL...Once you get to my portfolio menu homepage, click on Print design. Everything there loads fine.The trouble is going back to the portfolio movieclip and having it display those menu buttons again.As you can see, if you try to click the view portfolio button at the top, it loads that movieclip to wherever you left off at.Basically, my question is: How can I have my "view portfolio" button reload/refresh the movieclip (page1) from the beginning in my pagecontainer_mc?
-page1 is a movieclip that shows my portfolio buttons.
-page2 is a movieclip that show the "about me" section.
