ActionScript 2.0 :: When Rollover A Button It Fades To Another Color / When Rollout It Fades Back To The Original Color
May 7, 2002
This is my first post here and it my be a hard one to understand? Overview I have four buttons on the main stage (info) (help) (bio) (main) When you Rollover a button it fades to another color/when you rollout it fades back to the original color I have a script that does the color change because I do not want to use motion tweens. Here is what I did I made a 2 frame MC named infoMC In the 1st frame of the MC I made the word (info) a nested MC and attached the color change code to it. The 2nd frame of the MC Is the same as the 1st frame but I revesed the color change
i was talking to someone @ my school about dynamic scripter color fades? he showed me an example of his script and it referenced color a value of 9126315.i asked what that was and he said he's using hex color and rgb? anyone know anything about these? im kinda familiar with the other values 0xFFFFFF and #8C2C0B but im clueless as to this one? any takers?
I am creating a little flash movie, nothing major and I want something to happen. When a user rolls over a button, a image fades in somewhere else on the stage, possibly below the button being rolled over. Then when its clicked (the button) the image (possibly) expands and text is showed while the background is faded.
I used the example of the "Changing Colors Using ActionScript" from your site to add to a rollover state on a movieClip. It works fine but how to I reverse the state when I rollOut. e.g. goes to black on rollOver and then back to its original full color image on rollOut?
I have the following script on a movie clip which fades the clip in when your mouse is over the MC and fades it out when your mouse moves off. It works fine, but it "flickers" when its faded in all the way. How can I stop that?
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction with this. Instead of creating a button and nesting movie clips for each state, I'm trying to script an animated button of a square (no fill) where on rollover the stroke color changes from one color to another (tweening the tint). I want to do this to the button symbol so it's the same for all instances. Is this possible or do I have to go the button > nested MC route? Sorry if this is lame...it's been awhile since I've used Flash and I've forgotten quite a bit.
I searched and found the code below which works fine to change the color. What do I do to make the color go back to it's original color on mouseout? pedals.buttonMode = true; pedals.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, changeColor); function changeColor(e:MouseEvent):void { var color_transform:ColorTransform=pedals.transform.co lorTransform; color_transform.color=0x004433; pedals.transform.colorTransform=color_transform; }
How is it done? All I've seen on the web is how to change the color. Well how about going back. I'm talking about a MC with many colors. I can't just change back to a single hexadecimal color.
I can accomplish the change as it passes over a frame, but I can't get it to change back.
In the frame is this:
Code: cHurtColor = new Color(_root.compMC); cHurtColor.setRGB(0x00FF33);

how could i remove these two colors for the header.... i could override rollover for the columns and leave the selection, but i want to remove these two effects from the header and i couldn't find a way to do that....
I'm making a flash app that allows you to create text, edit it. At some point, I need to get the text's color.
[Code]...
Then, you can stick the text on the movie and make a new one. During the creation of the movie clip holding the created text, all the format parameters of the text are passed to the movieclip. When I call back the .color parameter, it shows a value that isn't hex nor RGB... I've been googling for the last hour trying to find how to convert this back to RGB or hex values with no success. In this case, the value is : 65535
I am working on creating an interactive map. When a button is clicked a circle graphic fades in. When the same button is clicked I want the graphic to fade out the same way. I can only figure out how to make the graphic instantly disappear instead of fading out. I am following a tutorial and changing it to my needs. The tutorial can be seen here: [URL] The steps for the animation start at step 8. Here is the code I am using:
[Code]...
I am using Flash CS3 and Action Script 2.0. I would also like to have the circle graphic have a small photo pop up by it when the mouse hovers over it. What do I need to look into to make something like this happen? I haven't been able to find anything similar to doing this.
I am currently trying to create a function (or set of functions) that automatically fades in a button for each cue point in a video the first time a video loads. This way the buttons only become accessible once that point in the video has passed. The buttons should stay active once the video is loaded.
The code below is what I have so far. Essentially all I have managed to do is trace the name of the cuePoint. I believe what I need to do is somehow assign the cue point name to an object, pass that reference to the "fadeIn" function and run the "fadeIn" function.It is worth noting that the buttons I am fading in are already on the timeline, so I do not need to create them in code. I just need to reference them.
The first on is using the Tweener class and everytime that I press a button it fades out the loaded content of the previous selection, waits for it to finish and then loads the content of the button pressed. Everything works fine with this part.The second code is the on that is using an Array to dynamicaly rollover, rollout and keep selected the buttons.It was also changing the content of the mc that everything is loaded on but without this fancy fade in - fade out...!So i think its time for some code now...:
Code: Select allimport mx.transitions.*; import mx.transitions.easing.Strong; var FADEINSTART:Number = 2; var FADEINSTOP:Number = 7;
[code]....
Ive managed to make the previous mc to fade out but cant really make everything work properly...!

_root.fadeBox_mc.onEnterFrame = function (){ if (fade){ this.nextFrame();[code]....
This causes a mc to fade in and out on rollover/rollout. But what I wanna make is a box that fades in when pressed on the button and fade out when pressed for the second time. But if I say
on (press){ _root.fade = true; }
the mc fades in, but I cant do another on (press) to fade out. Is this too confusing?
I want to do as follows: * click a "red" button write in textarea with red color font click "blue" button * write in textarea with blue color font Isn't this possible in flash 10 using AS3 I tried using setTextFormat but the problem is i have to have text before inserting format on that.

What I am trying to do is to have the button color change to a different color when it is on the page. The color only changes when I roll over it or hit it. Once I am on the page it changes back to the color it is on the up state.
I am working on a website where I have some movieclips on the stage scattered. Some overlapping each other. Now when I move my mouse over any movieclip, I want the movieclips around it to move away from it and when I rollout they should get back in place. An example of this can bee seen on [URL].
I have a button with an icon. I want to have the button in gray so I change the chromeColor but when I do that, the icon became darker.On the left the button without changing the color, on the right, the gray button with and darker icon.How can I have a gray button without changing the icon color?
Im creating a microsite, in which the background colour changes depending on which section you are in! I want it so that when i go on one section the current background fades out as the new on faids in!Ive got the fades in's sorted, however is there some sort of script that i can put in that tells the current background to faid out??Also say im in the red section and then want to load a diffrent aspect of the red section! I dont want it to re-load the Red background! Is there some way of achieving that?? My first throught was to use some sort of IF statment, however im not exactly sure how i do this?
I am not very code oriented, but I found this code that I altered for my needs, and it works, as you move your cursor towards the bottom of the screen the movie clip fades in. However, in addition I need one that does the inverse where another mc fades in as you approach the top. Does anyone know how I would acomplish this task?
i have a button, with instance name lightblue_color. I am assigning a color to its color field like this: lightblue_color.transform.colorTransform.color = 0x65ffff; then i am adding an eventlistener to the button like this: lightblue_color.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ChangeColor); Then, in the function: public function ChangeColor(evnt:MouseEvent):void {trace(evnt.target.transform.colorTransform.color);} It prints 0. Why is that? Shouldn't it print 0x65ffff or do i need to do some type conversions?

I have a movieclip that effectively functions as a button, which we'll call BtnA. When I click it, another movieclip containing the content (CntntA) fades in (this mc is on another layer). Then when I click another button (BtnB) CntntA fades out and CntntB fades in. I've got all this working fine for now, but the problem I have is that once BtnA is clicked, it is still clickable and it fades CntntA back in even though it is already active. Is there a way to disable BtnA after CntntA has appeared? So u can still see it, but you cant click it? Obviously I'll need to do this with BtnB and any future buttons I add
