Actionscript 2.0 :: Array Button Menu That Fades MovieClips With Tween Class?

The first on is using the Tweener class and everytime that I press a button it fades out the loaded content of the previous selection, waits for it to finish and then loads the content of the button pressed. Everything works fine with this part.The second code is the on that is using an Array to dynamicaly rollover, rollout and keep selected the buttons.It was also changing the content of the mc that everything is loaded on but without this fancy fade in - fade out...!So i think its time for some code now...:

This is my first post here and it my be a hard one to understand? Overview I have four buttons on the main stage (info) (help) (bio) (main) When you Rollover a button it fades to another color/when you rollout it fades back to the original color I have a script that does the color change because I do not want to use motion tweens. Here is what I did I made a 2 frame MC named infoMC In the 1st frame of the MC I made the word (info) a nested MC and attached the color change code to it. The 2nd frame of the MC Is the same as the 1st frame but I revesed the color change

I've just started on my first AS3 project and have already run into a problem. Can someone please tell me why the following code is not working correctly. What's NOT happening is that the mc that is passed to the scalethis function is NOT alpha'ing to 0 and I can't for the life of me understand why.

if you'll look at [URL] let it load and then click on FASHION. All goes well. Then click on HOME. All goes well. Now click on FASHION again. after you've done each card once duplicate movie clips start popping up, but I've not called any such function. Here's my code.

I have a movieclip that effectively functions as a button, which we'll call BtnA. When I click it, another movieclip containing the content (CntntA) fades in (this mc is on another layer). Then when I click another button (BtnB) CntntA fades out and CntntB fades in. I've got all this working fine for now, but the problem I have is that once BtnA is clicked, it is still clickable and it fades CntntA back in even though it is already active. Is there a way to disable BtnA after CntntA has appeared? So u can still see it, but you cant click it? Obviously I'll need to do this with BtnB and any future buttons I add

The mc I want to tween is a menu button. I just want to change its y coordinate up on rollover and down at its original position on rollout. My mc has a y coordinate at _y 53 and should go up at _y 43 on rollover and it should go down at original _y 53 on rollout. So even if I respect precisely how the code should be built it does not do what I want. Or the mc button goes to high or it does not move at all.

I must say I'm pretty new to AS3.0 and last night I tried to develop this accordion menu. It's not XML driven nor does it use AS3.0 to create each "button". What I did was create individual "menus", basically like drop down menus, and converted them into separate movieClips. Also inside of them there's a button movieClip which is the larger one that opens the menu (instanced "btn"), a reference movieClip called tabHeight to define its height - since it can depend on the number of "sub-menus" you have - and a tabMask that onClick (is supposed) to open and reveal the "sub-menus" while making everything move according to that change. I want it to basically start with all menus closed and onClick it reveals each menu, making the necessary y movements. I am getting some errors and I can't make it to work.

I have a custom class that animates a set of movie clips. Something like coverFlow or Carosell. What I want to do is pass a array of all the movie clips to be used by the class. I am not sure an array is the best solution but it makes sense to me. The class will not always know how many movieclips are being passed so with an array I can get the lenght and deal with it. here is the instaciation code of my class mBack and mFront are movie clips on the stage.[code]I get this error Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.display::MovieClip@113d2061 to Array.it kinda of makes sense why I got the error but if this is not correct how do I pass a list of mc's to my class.

how do I do this when the button is already animating using a tween class.
I want the button to be pulsating, then when you rollover it, it expands and stays until you roll off. However, when you rollover here, it keeps pulsating.

I've got the following movie online to look at:(disregard background, temporary image)URL...I have 3 icons (will be 4, the photos at the bottom of the movie).When hovering over a button, it should rise up around 50px, and on mouse out, it should drop back down to its original position.If you look at the movie, it does that, however, if you move around the images a bit you'll see that at some points it picks up 2 photos/buttons at a time (since they're overlapping a bit I imagine), but the BIG problem is that sometimes, when picking up both images, they do not return to their original position when mousing OUT as they should, they remain suspended as if they are stuck at the end of the onmouseover function and can't come back down.[code]

I've created a rollover button that makes a little pink tab pop up on rollover and drop down using rollout.The animation looks pretty sweet because it's done with the tween class. Heres the code:

I am creating a little flash movie, nothing major and I want something to happen. When a user rolls over a button, a image fades in somewhere else on the stage, possibly below the button being rolled over. Then when its clicked (the button) the image (possibly) expands and text is showed while the background is faded.

All I've been trying to do is to move a string of thumbnails - thumbHolder_mc - incrementally (like every 386 pixels) left and right, controling it with arrow buttons. Code below works like a charm EXCEPT when I try to stop the tween motion on either end. I tried everything - _visible = false, enabled = false, delete function, etc etc, nothing works. I've gotten code that would circle through this with menu without an array, but I have been looking trying to complete it for the sake of better learning about arrays.
I have 3 buttons and I want to use the up, down, arrow keys to cycle through the buttons. So far I have the code to switch the up state once they are clicked on but I am unsure how to incorporate the navigational aspect into the array and have it cycle through.

I am working on creating an interactive map. When a button is clicked a circle graphic fades in. When the same button is clicked I want the graphic to fade out the same way. I can only figure out how to make the graphic instantly disappear instead of fading out. I am following a tutorial and changing it to my needs. I am currently trying to create a function (or set of functions) that automatically fades in a button for each cue point in a video the first time a video loads. This way the buttons only become accessible once that point in the video has passed. The buttons should stay active once the video is loaded.
The code below is what I have so far. Essentially all I have managed to do is trace the name of the cuePoint. I believe what I need to do is somehow assign the cue point name to an object, pass that reference to the "fadeIn" function and run the "fadeIn" function.It is worth noting that the buttons I am fading in are already on the timeline, so I do not need to create them in code. I just need to reference them.

I'd like to know what AS3 code is necessary to have a scrollable menu of buttons using the Keyboard class. I am creating app similar to a Yahoo widget, and I would like for the keyboard to simulate a remote control in the prototype. The keyboard's directional buttons (up, down, left, right), the "backspace" and "enter" button would be used to navigate. I have found AS3 code on how to move objects using keyboard commands (up, down, left, right, back), like in a game, but not how to move the target area from one object (button) to another. The changing target would be a clickable button using the "enter" button.

i am creating a simple set of a few rectangles stacked on top of eachother (going to be like a stack of postcards) and i want to have the user click on the top rectangle and it moves to reveal the one underneath it. i have it all set up to work except i can't think of a way to stop it from being clickable after it's been moved to the side and the 2nd rectangle is revealed. does this make any sense? here is my code:

Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

Now I am using the Tween Class to move some boxes in my movie, now I can move the first mc and then another mc after the first tween has finished with onMotionFinished but I was hoping someone could help with how do I start the second tween when the first mc has passed a certain _x coordinate. ie starting the second mc moving while the first tween is still moving.

If i have a clip with a bunch of stuff inside it (on layers) like other clips, bitmaps, etc. and perform a tween on that clip (via tween class), the stuff inside the clip seems to alpha at different rates.
For instance, i have a clip with an empty movieclip which loads a bitmap image and on top of the bitmap image, i have a gradient feathered edge (.png) bitmap and on top of that I have some dynamic text (embedded fonts).
The bitmap is supposed to create a feathered edge on the photo but since they alpha at different rates, you always see the hard edge of the photo...
is there a solution like cacheAsBitmap which would let the whole clip alpha at once? If it's cacheAsBitmap, i must be using it incorrectly, b/c it's not working!
