ActionScript 2.0 :: Tween Menu Button - Y Coordinates Do Not Work

Jan 11, 2007

The mc I want to tween is a menu button. I just want to change its y coordinate up on rollover and down at its original position on rollout. My mc has a y coordinate at _y 53 and should go up at _y 43 on rollover and it should go down at original _y 53 on rollout. So even if I respect precisely how the code should be built it does not do what I want. Or the mc button goes to high or it does not move at all.

So the code is
import mx.transitions. Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
menu1_mc.onRollOver= function() {
new tween(menu1_mc,_y,Bounce.easeIn,menu1_mc._y,43,3,t rue); };
menu1_mc.onRollOut= function() {
new tween(menu1_mc,_y,Bounce.easeIn,menu1_mc._y,53,3,t rue); };

Everything works fine with this part.The second code is the on that is using an Array to dynamicaly rollover, rollout and keep selected the buttons.It was also changing the content of the mc that everything is loaded on but without this fancy fade in - fade out...!So i think its time for some code now...:

Code: Select allimport mx.transitions.*;

Ive managed to make the previous mc to fade out but cant really make everything work properly...!

ActionScript 2.0 :: Drop Down Menu ... Button Won't Work

I am by no means an actionscript genius. I took a tutorial online to figure out how to do a drop down menu. It is all visually functional but when I click a sub-menu item it wont work. For example, if I click the "company" tab on my website, there are 2 options: "about us" and "contact us". In my time frame we are sitting on frame 200. I have added the following actionscript to the "about us" sub-menu button:

ActionScript 2.0 :: Using MC Tween 2, Updating X, Y Coordinates On Runtime?

Aug 11, 2009

I am wondering if someone were able to do what I am trying to achieve using MC Tween 2. I need to be able to update X, Y coordinates while the tweening is running. I dont want to restart it but update X, Y values. For example, I want to modify the distance to travel on an object in given time. It means that if tweening started with distance to travel 100px on Y coordinate and time to ravel is set to 10 seconds and if I change Y coordinate within 1 second of 10 to 200 px the the rest 9 seconds will tween the object to the 200 px point.

Flex :: Menu Control - Click A Button And A Menu Is Displayed. Click That Button A Second Time And Hide That Menu?

Jun 20, 2010

Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.

How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
// Import the Menu control.
import mx.controls.Menu;

Actionscript 3 :: Convert Global Coordinates To Local Coordinates Of A UIComplenent In Flex Project?

Dec 19, 2011

I was trying to convert global coordinates to local coordinates of a UIComplenent in my flex project using below code using below code

var gp:Point = new Point(e.stageX,e.stageY); //global point
var lp:Point = uic.globalToLocal(gp); //local point

uic is UIComponent in which I have subclass of Sprite for drawing something I have set the sprite's mouseEnabled and mouseChildren to false to not interrupt the mouse event. above code is within uic's mousemove event where I was tracing the gp and lp gp was giving correct value and suprisingly lp was giving negetive values. when I move the move to the top left corner of uic i expect lp to be 0,0 but it is giving the -width of of uic. I broke my head for hours and ended up finding an alternate by using offsets. Infact my original code was much simpler like this which was same issue

var lp:Point = new Point(e.localX,e.localY);

I am not sure what exactly is causing this problem. the workaround had lot of issues and it creating a mess in my rest of the algorithms.Just now I found even more interesting thing (which is actually weird). for some reason I went and create a new lp2

var lp2:Point = new Point(e.localX,e.localY);

now surprisingly it was giving correct values as expected and I went back and changed the code as

var gp:Point = new Point(e.stageX,e.stageY); //global point
var lp:Point = uic.globalToLocal(gp); //local point
var lp2:Point = new Point(e.localX,e.localY);
var lp2:Point = uic.globalToLocal(gp);

now it is expected to have all the lp, lp2 and lp3 variables to be same but weiredly lp two is giving wrong value and lp2 and lp3 were giving correct. I am suspecting using the variable lp has something to do. I am not sure about that but above proves it so right now I am using lp2.

Can't Get Tween To Work

Aug 23, 2010

I am working on a site (in Flash CS5 -- using AS3) with drop-down menus. I finally got my drop-downs to work and was stoked for that. I then decided that I wanted the menu bar to motion tween in from the left. I placed the tween on the bar, and saw the tween line on the stage. However, when I go to test the movie in Flash, or publish it and watch it in my browser, the tween doesn't happen, the bar just stays left of the stage.

Can't Get Motion Tween To Work At All

Here is the extremely simple animation i'm doing. The problem are for the bottom 9 layers starting from frame 80. I just don't get it.

import fl.transitions.easing.*;
var startY:Number = productsSub_mc._DisplayObject.y;
var myTween:Tween;

"productsSub_mc" is the sub menu I created as a movie clip. Within that movie clip is another button labeled "videos". When I run the preview, I get the following error:

ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Get Tween To Work Between Three MovieClips

Oct 15, 2010

I am fairly new to AS3 and I have a page on my site that navigates between 3 different movie clips using frame based navigation. I have action script on each of the 3 frames to move between the movie clips and that works just fine but i can't seem to get the tween to work on more than just one movie clip. Here's the code from the first frame:

Code:
Select all//load page
page2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickSection);
function clickSection(evtObj:MouseEvent) {
//go to the frame clicked on...
gotoAndStop(evtObj.target.name);
//animate between pages
new Tween(page2_mc, "x", Regular.easeOut, 0,260,1, true);
new Tween(page1_mc, "x", Regular.easeOut, 0,260,1, true);
new Tween(page3_mc, "x", Regular.easeOut, 0,260,1, true);
}
Whatever movie clip I put in the first tween will animate but the other two won't.

I am building a menu and for each button of the menu, subbuttons apear beneath it along the menu. And I am having some problems. Each of the menu buttons has animations for rollOver and rollOut. What can I do so that when I move over the subbuttons the menu button won't start the rollOut animation. I have to extend the hit state. If I put the subbuttons in the same movie clip as the menu button, the animation would be bad because I am doing width, height, x and y tweenings with ActionScript and addind something the the clip would change these properties. Pls help.

Is it possible to extend the hit state of the menu button in some way ?
