I'm using some code that tweens menu text color on rollover. This basic code works, but I'd like to tighten things up and create a single function that is called on rollover and rollout. The code that needs help is below - create a dynamic textfield and convert it to a movie clip called "textfield_mc".
Code:
var default_color:Number = 0x939672;
var rollover_color:Number = 0xc6c3ab;
var selected_color:Number = 0x63481d;

i have a red colored box, and i want it to gradually tween into being green.. is that possible only using actionscript?
View 1 RepliesHow can i tween color and _x at the same time??
Code:
function over() {
TweenFilterLite.to(this, 0.2, {_x:this._x+5, ease:Bounce.easeOut, overwrite: false});
TweenFilterLite.to(this, 0.3, {colorMatrixFilter:{colorize:0xFF0000, amount:1 }});
}
does anyone know how to tween the color of an object with tweener can you. I want to tween from #C1BB00 to #FFFFFF

View 1 RepliesI have a graphic (behaving as a movie) that has a motion tween. Color selector buttons let the user change the color (using setTransform) of this moving image.
BUT... as soon as one clicks a button to change the color, it stops moving (eveything else carries on moving though).
A good example of what happens is: picture a red car moving across the screen. A potencial buyer wants to see what the car will look like in yellow and as soon as they click the yellow button, the body work of the car becomes yellow and stops dead. The rest of the car carries on. Buyer not impressed and I loose the sale!
I found this old thread and tried using both codes to color tween. I could not get either work. I know its probably very simple but I am very new to flash. I have attached the .fla. If anyone can get both example of the color tweens to work
Also I would like to hear pros and cons on wither method.

Code:
import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
import flash.filters.ColorMatrixFilter;

View 2 RepliesI wanted to make my My text tween to a different color upon rollover. I *think* i understand the code I should use to do this, but I'm stuck on what to call the class... I was going to set it up like this...
var Bcolor:Tween = new Tween(b_logo, "???", Strong.easeOut, ?, ?, ?, true);
So as you can see I'm not sure what i would put in the quotes to affect color, or what values I would use?
I am currently working on a map of the US that is interactive. My goal is to be able to mouse over the states and have them turn red and then a window with contact information will open at your mouse when clicked. I am running into a few problems. I dont know the process for creating a color tween for my movieclips. my solution was to make a copy of the states, color them red and place them behind the gray ones and attatch an event listener to all the states that lowers their alpha when moused over. thats not really the problem though. for my code that i have used to call in the window is as follows. I will use texas as an example.
[Code]...
i have a movieclip named mc. it has a color of
r=255
b=0
g=0
a=70%
i have 3 buttons that when i click i need the moviclip mc to tween to a different color. so when i click button a i want it to tween to the new color:
r=255
b=255
g=0
a=70%
if i click button b it tweens from this new color to a different color:
r=51
b=102
g=204
a=70%
etc. etc.
Anyway, I'm trying to make a slider menu like this. I don't need the the XML aspect. I just want to know how to make the slider slide to a specific space when I click on it.I searched Google extensively for tutorials on how to tween and tutorials on how to make a slider menu, but could not find what I was looking for. All the tween tutorials just showed how to tween from one space to another, and all the slider menu FLA's I downloaded were completely different than what I am looking for.
View 6 RepliesI'm playing around since days with the Color.Matrix.Filter and cant get it working. The Problem is that i have to implement it to a existing project which was done by someone else.If i do it from scratch it works.COLOR TWEEN FROM GRAY TO COLORED ( Normal ) ON MOUSE ROLL OVER Existing Code ( not on Frame one of the Project, its inside a Movieclip which will be placed on frame one of the main stage / scene.
//Original Values
originX = this._x;
originScale = 48

I would like to do something like the menu on the left hand side of this page: [URL] I am after the effect where the color fades in when rolled over and fades out when the mouse leaves the area.
View 2 RepliesI have a movieclip object and I want to tween the color of this object from colorA to colorB when I click a button. What is the best way of doing this, is it possible to do it with the tween class? As far as I can see its not possible to tween a tint with the Tween class?
View 2 RepliesI'm new to Actionscript 3.0 and I want to create an interactive menu. On the left as I hover over the button "products" I want a sub menu to come into view (as seen in the graphic below). I've created all the graphics but there are a lot of translation issues.
Here is the code I've used:
import fl.transitions.Tween;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;
var startY:Number = productsSub_mc._DisplayObject.y;
var myTween:Tween;
var myTween2:Tween;
[Code] .....
"productsSub_mc" is the sub menu I created as a movie clip. Within that movie clip is another button labeled "videos". When I run the preview, I get the following error:
1084: Syntax error: expecting rightparen before semicolon.
So I am switching everything over to AS3 from AS2 (finally) and I am stuck with the selected state (when using ROLL_OVER and ROLL_OUT).I did a search and have found a ton of examples for using the timeline and labels to tween the menu states... however I haven't been able to find anything in regards to using a tween engine. I can currently tween the selected state by just doing:
ActionScript Code:
addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, onClick);
//with the function:
[code].....
I was trying to work through a Flash navigation menu tutorial [URL] and pretty much have it done except for a motion tween that is not working. Im working with a number of movie clip buttons with some tweens except my motion tweens are not working. When i right click in the time line to and click motion tween the frames turn blue but there is no arrow, and when I test, the project works except without a motion tween. I believe it's steps 16-18 that are giving me problems.
View 2 RepliesThe mc I want to tween is a menu button. I just want to change its y coordinate up on rollover and down at its original position on rollout. My mc has a y coordinate at _y 53 and should go up at _y 43 on rollover and it should go down at original _y 53 on rollout. So even if I respect precisely how the code should be built it does not do what I want. Or the mc button goes to high or it does not move at all.
So the code is
import mx.transitions. Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
menu1_mc.onRollOver= function() {
new tween(menu1_mc,_y,Bounce.easeIn,menu1_mc._y,43,3,t rue); };
menu1_mc.onRollOut= function() {
new tween(menu1_mc,_y,Bounce.easeIn,menu1_mc._y,53,3,t rue); };
I tired Menu, its working fine. In this i can able to change background color and other styles also.
But my need is, individual background color for each and every item added in Menu.
My requirement is, say for example..
[Code].....
I have made a menu with many submenus
View 1 RepliesI've created this thumbnail navigation bar that uses XML to get an external image, title, and link information. It then uses attachMovie() and a for loop to generate the listing. It all works like it's supposed to! However I am now having two problems. The first, since I am loading in an image I would like to have a preloader appear in all the thumbnail containers before the thumbnail image loads in. I have a simple circle preloader in each thumbnail module that I would like to hide it once the image loads in.
The second issues and perhaps the more important one is that the site is color coded meaning once you click on a navigation button the site color scheme changes to a different color. I put all the instance names of the site elements into an array and then created a color change function with a switch statement to had the color change. However I cant seen to include the newly attached thumbnails into this array so they don't change color along with everything else on the website. I'm completely suck on this and have no idea how to go about making thHere is my code:First this is how I loaded the XML data and attach the thumbnails:
ActionScript Code:
var linkItem:Array = new Array();
var instanceNames:Array = new Array();

I am going through Senocular's beautiful tutorial on xml driver drill down menu and was trying to change the the font color with rollover effects. I have a function that I can use for this, but I am not able to call it appropriately from the main program.

that xml menu from Best of Kirupa, very impressive,..but does anybody know how to change menu text/font color?
View 3 RepliesI have a menu text dynamically loaded from external data. It duplicateMovieClips on stage.The thing that does not work is the onRelease statement. The new color is not appliedAll others (onRollover, onRollout), works perfectly.How can I set the new color to the text menu when we press on it ?Here is the AS code on the MC that is duplicated:
Code:
mcbase = new Color(this);
orig = "0xFFFFFF";

I'm fairly new to AS3 and I'm trying to make a pretty complicated (for me) set of behaviors. You can see what I'm trying to do here: [URL]. The Main class sets up the crosshair, the navigation, the color bars that randomly roam the stage, and the 3 words that float around. The idea is that when you hover over a word, the color bars split apart like a curtain and two random pictures appear. Then, when you roll off the word, the pictures disappear and the color bars start roaming again.
I've got the color bars, the floating words, and the curtain split working great. My problem is bringing in the pictures. For whatever reason, 60 to 70% of the time the tween stops before it is complete. I think it has something to do with the fact that I've got a hover on a piece of text, and the mouse sometimes slips into the empty spaces between the letters, but even when I put a semi-transparent rectangle over the whole word to act as a hit area I got the same results. The ZIP with all my classes is here: [URL]. Again, I'm new to AS3 and OOP,
I'm trying to make a simple as3 menu using the drawing api, but i'm having a few problems. First of all I want the red box on roll over to start out from where the gray box is, but right now its starting out from the left of the stage. Second when I bring the mouse cursor off the stage the red box would just appear.
[Code]...
Let's say I've got button 1, 2 and 3 as the main menu and button a, b and c as the submenu. The idea is: If I press on button1, buttons 2 and 3 moves to the right by 200 pixels. At the same time, the buttons a, b and c will appear between button 1 and 2.
Now, I got this working with Motion Tween, but that's not the way how I want to do it. I think it should be possible with AS too, right? I've tried with SetProperty and _x, but then it doesn't scroll to the new location.
I have several objects on the stage and a MouseOver on any of these will add a menu popup child and tween it from off the stage. A MouseOut will tween the menu away and remove the menu with removeChild. Heres the bug: If I mouse out and then quickly mouse over the same object while the menu is tweening away before it has been removed, it doesn't add the menu again, and then on the next mouse out, it tries to remove the child menu, which isn't currently a child because it was just removed, and
I get the error:
TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter child must be non-null.
at flash.display:isplayObjectContainer/removeChild()
at menucaller/tweenOffTimerEnd()
at flash.utils::Timer/_timerDispatch()
at flash.utils::Timer/tick()
Is there a way I can use an if statement to make sure that the menu is a child of the parent before removing it?
