ActionScript 2.0 :: [fmx] Tween Halts When Color Changed
Jan 14, 2004
I have a graphic (behaving as a movie) that has a motion tween. Color selector buttons let the user change the color (using setTransform) of this moving image.
BUT... as soon as one clicks a button to change the color, it stops moving (eveything else carries on moving though).
A good example of what happens is: picture a red car moving across the screen. A potencial buyer wants to see what the car will look like in yellow and as soon as they click the yellow button, the body work of the car becomes yellow and stops dead. The rest of the car carries on. Buyer not impressed and I loose the sale!

I've been having some trouble with tweens. Here's a description of my usage:
I have a system where a textbox is the child of a movieclip. When you click the "Next" button, the movieclip fades to 0-alpha and upon completion, the text in the textbox is changed (to the next index in an array) and it tweens back in to 100-alpha. This makes a nice transition through the text.
My issue is that sometimes it doesn't tween back in, only out, leaving the user with an empty box where text should be.
However, I'd asked this question previously with the thought that it was "Timing out". Now, after significant testing I realised that it only happens if I click or select some of the text on the text box. Could it have something to do with this text selection intefering with the changeText function below... (it's the same text box, just the text changes).
CODE:
function changeClick(e:MouseEvent):void { if (e.currentTarget==btnRight) { newDirect="right"; } else {
i got some examples am working on i have this project that has falling stars but when i run my project and test the movies the stars are colored in yellow,i have checked the sprites and the shapes color and changed them to white but nothing changed
I just wanted to know about a website's logo application. The website is www(dot)Logomaker(dot)com and I have question about how can the images be selected at various regions and their color can be changed ? What format are the images in the flash?
I am learning about sharedobjects and have worked out how to save info to an so. Then i came across this script that creates an input field and allows the text color to be changed, how do I use this package and save the textfield input to a so.[code]........
I am creating an searchbox for a tablet application. On entering any text the results appear below as a list. Now I want to change color of that part of the text that is there in searchbox.So which text control would allow me to do that. I found that RichText is one such control but Adobe recommends not to use it for mobileDevices.
After several months of use, the sf's preloader in my site has an issue. I am having trouble recreating the issue.There are 2 files, loader.swf, and external.swf.The first, gets the bytes of the second, displays a progress percentage, and loads the external upon completion.I used the Adobe Flash CS5 sample files to create the loader.Issue:On a Mac, running Safari 4.1.3 (this is all that I know), the progress bar would go all the way to 100%, but then freeze and not load the second swf.I have no issues in any of IE, Firefox, Chrome, or even Safari on any of my PC's/Macs/Adobe BrowserLab.The HTML page uses a combination of swfFit and swfobject to display the loader.
Has anyone ever heard of this issue?Could the swfObject/swfFit correctly load the first swf, but then fail with the Loader class within the loader.swf?Could the the fact that the swfObject minimum flash version check was version 8.0.0? Would a flash player 8.0.0 load an AS3 Flash 10.0 loader.swf, but fail on a more complex AS3 Flash 10.0 external.swf?Here is the loader's code:
logo_mc.mask=progressbar;var contentLoader:Loader; loadContent("external.swf"); function loadContent(url:String):void { contentLoader = new Loader(); contentLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRES S,
I'm using some code that tweens menu text color on rollover. This basic code works, but I'd like to tighten things up and create a single function that is called on rollover and rollout. The code that needs help is below - create a dynamic textfield and convert it to a movie clip called "textfield_mc".
Code: var default_color:Number = 0x939672; var rollover_color:Number = 0xc6c3ab; var selected_color:Number = 0x63481d;
I found this old thread and tried using both codes to color tween. I could not get either work. I know its probably very simple but I am very new to flash. I have attached the .fla. If anyone can get both example of the color tweens to work
Also I would like to hear pros and cons on wither method.
I wanted to make my My text tween to a different color upon rollover. I *think* i understand the code I should use to do this, but I'm stuck on what to call the class... I was going to set it up like this...
var Bcolor:Tween = new Tween(b_logo, "???", Strong.easeOut, ?, ?, ?, true);
So as you can see I'm not sure what i would put in the quotes to affect color, or what values I would use?
I am currently working on a map of the US that is interactive. My goal is to be able to mouse over the states and have them turn red and then a window with contact information will open at your mouse when clicked. I am running into a few problems. I dont know the process for creating a color tween for my movieclips. my solution was to make a copy of the states, color them red and place them behind the gray ones and attatch an event listener to all the states that lowers their alpha when moused over. thats not really the problem though. for my code that i have used to call in the window is as follows. I will use texas as an example.
I'm playing around since days with the Color.Matrix.Filter and cant get it working. The Problem is that i have to implement it to a existing project which was done by someone else.If i do it from scratch it works.COLOR TWEEN FROM GRAY TO COLORED ( Normal ) ON MOUSE ROLL OVER Existing Code ( not on Frame one of the Project, its inside a Movieclip which will be placed on frame one of the main stage / scene.
I have a movieclip object and I want to tween the color of this object from colorA to colorB when I click a button. What is the best way of doing this, is it possible to do it with the tween class? As far as I can see its not possible to tween a tint with the Tween class?
I'm fairly new to AS3 and I'm trying to make a pretty complicated (for me) set of behaviors. You can see what I'm trying to do here: [URL]. The Main class sets up the crosshair, the navigation, the color bars that randomly roam the stage, and the 3 words that float around. The idea is that when you hover over a word, the color bars split apart like a curtain and two random pictures appear. Then, when you roll off the word, the pictures disappear and the color bars start roaming again.
I've got the color bars, the floating words, and the curtain split working great. My problem is bringing in the pictures. For whatever reason, 60 to 70% of the time the tween stops before it is complete. I think it has something to do with the fact that I've got a hover on a piece of text, and the mouse sometimes slips into the empty spaces between the letters, but even when I put a semi-transparent rectangle over the whole word to act as a hit area I got the same results. The ZIP with all my classes is here: [URL]. Again, I'm new to AS3 and OOP,
I have a question concerning TweenLite for AS3. I have a button that when I rollover it, I want the other two buttons to "Tween" by tinting in color and move down a bit. Then when I roll off it, I want the buttons to go back there original state or something.
There are choices for position, scale, skew, rotation and all. One of the most common things I do is tween alpha for fade ins and outs. Why is this choice greyed out?
Of course I know I can just select all, but then what's the point in listing all the properties separately for tweens?
i have a button, with instance name lightblue_color. I am assigning a color to its color field like this: lightblue_color.transform.colorTransform.color = 0x65ffff; then i am adding an eventlistener to the button like this: lightblue_color.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ChangeColor); Then, in the function: public function ChangeColor(evnt:MouseEvent):void {trace(evnt.target.transform.colorTransform.color);} It prints 0. Why is that? Shouldn't it print 0x65ffff or do i need to do some type conversions?
how i can to know if the value of a FlashVar (in as3) has changed. For example: if i inicialize the flashVar with "1" and after set the flashVar to "0", everyOne knows that this flashVar has changed. the problem is if i have the FlashVar value setting in "2" and i set the flashvar value to "2", again.
There are any way to know if this flashVars has changed his value for the same value?
