I will have three seperate pages for the motion tween, mask effect and shape tween... would you make the seperately, in a different scene, as a symbol or on the same scene with the website.
View 2 RepliesI am facing a problem in one of my animation with flash CS4 - I have nested a Shape Tween in a Motion tween to get more control over the easers and effects, unfortunately I am not able to view on the timeline of my Motion Tween the action of the Shape tween nested inside.
It only show the first shape of the Shape Tween during the entire Motion Tween and that is really a problem for me because I need to see the final frame result of that Shape tween to be able to position it in a precise way on my scene according to other instances.

I've been using the motion editor for my Motion Tweens, but as you probably know, I can't use the motion editor on a Shape Tween. Is there no way to do this? I just want it to slowly ease in.
View 6 Repliesi put a shape tween on the timeline that shrinks a shape a certain number of pixels in a given time. my problem is that it shrinks too smoothly in the movie! I need it to shrink in a step by step fashion, and i'd like to be able to specify the number of steps. i'm hoping that there's a simple parameter that i can use to do this. or may be there would be a way to slow down this tween? by changing the fps locally without effecting the rest of the movie? i will need a solution that will work for motion tweens too, but imagine that the principle will be the same also, as a second question, is it possible to tween a bitmaps tint color style so that it changes from say red to green over a number of frames?
View 5 RepliesIt is very frustrating to move the diamond shape of the motion tween or to even delete an unwanted diamond shape on the timeline.
View 9 RepliesIf I have made a motion tween on an object on a level I can't then in the frame right after the motion tween make any Shape Tween on the same level and object.
View 0 RepliesThere is a movie clip "card" created dynamically through the code. I have a class, and I instanced it and add it to the stage. I need to move the movie clip on the button click, so I created a motion tween and export it to the code. Then I wrote a function and asign it to the button through the event listener. But the movie clip doesn't move. The event fires, but nothing happens.
Code examples:
1. Instance of a movie clip
var card:MovieClip = new Panic();
card.x=456.20;
card.y=77.30;
card.width=285;
card.height=355;
card.n = "IME";

I'm making a "master movie" for an assignment and I'm stuck right now. What I've got is an Intro page that will serve at the Parent.swf to load 4 other child swf's upon a mouse click. The problem is I have a theater stage where I tweened an animation to make it appear the curtain on the stage is going up but once it reaches it maximum height....the tween abruptly stops. I want it to HOLD there until a user clicks a button.
How would I make this happen? Here is the page in question: [URL]...
Is there a way to convert a classic tween to a motion tween?
View 0 RepliesPut 2 identical tweens, 1 motion tween, the other classic tween.Are there any differences in the final weight (Kb) of the resulting .swf file?

I'm trying to do a motion tween on a movieclip that is selected from an array via the following code:
Code:
import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
var toMove;
[code]...
unfortunatly it doesn't seem to be moving the movieclip, nothing happens. If I change toMove to a static name it'll detect it and work properly.
created a movieclip with a motion tween and I added it to the stage with the following code: var pop:msgBox = new msgBox; addChild(pop); //the msgBox is the class name of the movieclip and the pop is the name of the instance of it the problem is that the animation isn't played correctly. for instance, I drew a rectangle and converted it to a movieclip symbol and then I reconverted it inside itself to a graphic symbol. I created a motion tween that enlarge the movieclip shape, but when I added it with the above code, it start to animate correctly but over its iteration it start to behave not correctly. it seems that flash pro adding a new instance in each iteration that overlap on the previous one.
View 3 Repliesi made a movie clip with a motion tween wich i added to my stage with actionscript code (with the addChild() property). In het handeling code of the movieclip i put a stop so the motion tween won't play on startup. But how can i start and stop this animation with actionscript code without having to add the movieclip to my timeline?
View 1 RepliesI've been fumbling with this issue for a bit. I've got a lovely little tooltip movieclip that follows the user's mouse for a few seconds before it removes itself. My problem is that if there is one already there I remove it, however, I cannot seem to remove the Motion_Finish event and it still fires and possibly deletes a new tooltip. What I want is to essentially put in a line item such as:
var tween(smallhelp_panel).deleteAll();
I saw a tweenlight function killtweensof(mc); However I've used the tweens I've incorporated below throughout my 30k lines of AS3 code.
Here is my tooltip handler. I call it with a simple
Main_Warning("Please don't forget to save!",5);
My movieclip is a 'smallhelp_panel' and I check if it already exists and remove it. However, the alpha and MOTION_FINISH tweens still exist and cause issues with any new smallhelp_panels.
public function Main_Warning( the_text:String, myTimer:int = 4){
if(smallhelp_panel != null){
stage.removeChild( smallhelp_panel );

I have a movie clip that is a motion tween with a shape with fade... Now I want to put this mc as a mask .. and showing a part of an image with lot of this mc's. I know that I have to use duplicate movie clip, but the mc as mask isn't working.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to create a set of 4 vertically arranged buttons that 'split' apart when those buttons are pressed. For example, if you click the topmost (1st) button, the bottom three buttons will drop down so submenus (for the 1st button) can now be revealed beneath. Again, when you click the 2nd button from the top, the bottom two buttons drop down, revealing submenus, and so on.
Now, is there a way that I can use actionscripting to tween the buttons to not only motion tween a drop down when a button is first pressed, but also to motion tween the button to return up to its original spot when another button is then pressed? Right now, I have two keyframes, side-by-side which each containing a different y-scale value for an object. Can I do some actionscripting to get the object to motion tween upward to its original spot instead of "clicking," or snapping back to is original spot when another button is pressed?
I'm relatively new to flash and have been learning on my own, but I ran into a bit of a snag while trying to create a splash page for a client. View Page There's the page. What he wants, is for the shirt to move off the screen when a user clicks on the pocket. Can someone tell me how I would accomplish this using actionscript, or point me to a good (step by step) tutorial on how I would do it?

I'm trying to create a simple game. Right now I have one button that when clicked moves the character across the screen. My issue is trying to make the player stop looping after I click the button. If I just insert stop for the last frame it will only loop once and stop, but it will not play again after the button is clicked. I've tried using players_turn boolean but couldn't get that to work.

I'm creating a game where certain movie clips execute a motion tween when a button is clicked, and stay still when not clicked. I know that this sequence would probably use coding such as if...button pressed execute movie clip/else...
But I'm not sure how to code it. Also is it better to have the motion tweens as a nested animation in each movie clip, or should I just create the tweens on the main stage. And if I make them nexted animations how do you say in a function to play the nested animation?
I'm having issues with something I used to do all the time in previous version of Flash.On my Main Timeline I have a "looping" MovieClip (myArrows_mc). This MovieClip's timeline just has some simple animation,for instance some arrows that run across screen.There are no stop() actions, so once the playhead reaches the end of the MovieClip's timeline, it just goes back frame 1 and plays again.
Now I want to animate a simple shape Mask over top of the MovieClip. However, everytime the playhead gets to a keyframe in the Mask Layer, the MovieClip getting masked goes back to frame 1 and plays.
In other words, let's say myArrows_mc has 100 frames of arrow animation. On the Mask layer, I have tweened a simple oval shape from 1 side of the stage to the other. The shape tween has keyframes at frame 1, 50, and 64.
When I test the movie, everything looks fine (the arrows are looping) until the playhead reaches frame 50. Then the myArrows_mc, even though it hasn't reached the end of the arrows animation (frame 100), goes back to frame 1 and plays. Then when the main playhead reaches 64, myArrows_mc again resets to frame 1 and plays.
How can I animate a Mask over a MovieClip (not a Graphic) at authortime?Also, I need the Mask to be either a shape/motion tween or a graphic... it can't be it's own MovieClip, because I need to keep it "tied" to the Main Timeline.
I'm working on making a nitrogen tank that inflates a balloon a little bit more every time you click the tank. How do you set it up to go to a specific shape tween each time it is clicked, and then have it stop and make a reset button appear?
View 2 RepliesI am working on to slide a movieclip across the stage.The movie clip is five times the width of the stage and I am using the Tween Class to move it across the stage when a button is pressed.The interaction I want is that when the button is pressed the movie clip moves a certain amount.If the button is pressed again it moves further.The script I have come up with though is taking the movieclip back to the original position of the movieclip and then moving it as opposed to moving it from the position it reached after the first button click.I have tried a few things but nothing is working.The script I am using at present is:[code]
