ActionScript 2.0 :: Navigation (Tween Class) - Apply The .onRollOver To An Invisible Button Instead

Jan 28, 2008

// This is an array, a list of the buttons used. var myButtons = [this.myButton_1, this.myButton_2, this.myButton_3, this.myButton_4]; // Loops on all buttons from the first to the last one for (var i=0; i<myButtons.length; i++) { // When the mouse rolls over this menu option... reduce size just a bit. // NOTICE: I'm not taking into consideration the problem of having the hit area going down and "moving" the // mouse area and out of the button (possible rollover flicking). This is just a simple example afterall.

[Code]...

In the above instance how would I address the problem of flickering? I think want to apply the .onRollOver to an invisible button instead. How can this be done? Im just getting started with tweening animations outside the timeline with MCTween

ActionScript 3.0 :: Multiple Button Navigation - Tween Animation For Each One With Delayed Timing

Jul 2, 2009

i would like to do a simple set of buttons dynamicly created by code, like simple recangles which will act to each other and have different target urls or movies to load. Also buttons should have constant spacing to each other and it should be possible to have a tween animation for each one with delayed timing, so button 3 slides in first, button 2 slides in a second later and finally button 1 slides in at last. If you click one button all of the other buttons should get deactivated and the alpha should tween down to a lower level for e.g

Something like that, sounds simple but i don?t know where to start. I guess i will need to duplicate the button give each of them different targets, tweening and activate / deactivate states, but thats all i know in theory so far.

I just started trying out cs4.

Summary:It works when I directly paste the codes on the first frame of a blank document, with the movieclip on the stage.

BUT, if i put the motion codes in a class file, then strange compiler errors will appear in CS4 [code]...

These errors are shown without LOCATION. (i.e. cannot trace which line produces this error).

I really want to try out "copy motion as as3" in CLASS method.[code]...

ActionScript 2.0 :: Macromedia Site Navigation...delay OnRollover?

Jan 18, 2005

Not sure if it is just me, but I cannot seem to find any other menu out there that functions like the macromedia menu. I am building a navigation for ford.ca and the client wishes the navigation to behave like the macromedia site. MM site nav has some sort of delay that is triggerred before the rollover function fires, as well it detects when the mouse stops moving before firing. Take a close examination and you will see this.

ActionScript 2.0 :: How To Delay OnRollOver Tween

Jun 22, 2008

I coded a website menu to xscale each navigation item for 1.5 seconds when you rollover it. The problem is if you place the cursor on the edge of the item it repeats the xscale tween over and over again. You can view the nav at [URL]. Is there a way to set a delay between tweens so it diesn't start the next tween until the previous is finished? I tried adding a delay but it only performs the tween once.

Here is my code:
bannerservice_mc.onRollOver = function () {
if (tweenDelay != true) {
var scaleBannerRolloverService:Tween = new Tween(bannerservice_mc, "_xscale", Elastic.easeOut, 50, 100, 1.5, true);
tweenDelay = true;

Apply Navigation Buttons At Different Places On Each Frame

Jul 14, 2009

I have a show I'm trying to create, I need to put the navigation buttons on different places on each frame due to content.

Code:
on (release) {
prevFrame();
}
or
Code:
on (release) {
nextFrame();
}
and
Code:
on (release){
gotoAndplay("Scene1")}

I can get the symbols that I'm using as buttons to work in the first and second frame, but they will not work after that. Each frame has a
Code:
stop ();
Action applied to it.

I have tried: copy and pasting the same symbol into multiple frames, dragging new symbols into multiple frames, creating folders for each frame and dragging new symbols into those folders then onto a frame, and I'm still not having luck. This presentation is set up to run in Flash 9 with Bottom up loading order and ASP2

ActionScript 2.0 :: Tween Grow Onrollover / Shrink Onrollout Too Sensitive

Jan 25, 2012

I've been trying to have all of the movieclips on stage grow bigger when the mouse rolls over them, then shrink back to normal size on roll out. I have that working, but it seems that my mouse detection is sometimes too sensitive.I say that because sometimes my movieclip will alternate rapidly between rollout and rollover, usually when I place my cursor near the edge of a movie clip.I've tried only adding the rollout event after the tween finishes, but by then the user could have moved their mouse off the movieclip, and no rollout event fires. I was wondering if anyone knows of another way to manage a rollover grow effect without the stutter.[code]

ActionScript 3.0 :: Tween Class With Button Mouseover / Mouseout

Apr 3, 2009

I've got the following movie online to look at:(disregard background, temporary image)URL...I have 3 icons (will be 4, the photos at the bottom of the movie).When hovering over a button, it should rise up around 50px, and on mouse out, it should drop back down to its original position.If you look at the movie, it does that, however, if you move around the images a bit you'll see that at some points it picks up 2 photos/buttons at a time (since they're overlapping a bit I imagine), but the BIG problem is that sometimes, when picking up both images, they do not return to their original position when mousing OUT as they should, they remain suspended as if they are stuck at the end of the onmouseover function and can't come back down.[code]

Apply A Certain Tween To Several Objects?

Jun 7, 2009

I'm working on a little flash project to show a card game being played out. Its just playing out a set of moves - no actual logic for actually playing the game.Anyhow, what i would like to be able to do is create a tween (hope thats the right term) where a card will appear in the center of the table, and then slide over to the players hands and at the same time shrink down so i can fit a few hands on the screen. So basically i need a tween that takes an object (the card), places it on the center of the screen, and then slides over and shrinks down to a specific point. So in whatever action script calls this tween, i guess i would need to feed it two values - which card it starts with, and where the card should end up.

Apply Different Eases To Sections Of A Tween?

Jul 29, 2009

Flash CS4 has a feature where a tween can have more than two keyframes. If a tween has three keyframes, then changing keyframe 2 will affect the motion from keyframes 1 to 2 as well as the motion from keyframes 2 to 3. This is a very cool feature.

But there's one problem: I can only figure out how to apply an ease to the entire tween, not to the motion between two keyframes. Do you know how I can apply one ease to the motion between keyframes 1 and 2, and a different ease (or the same one a second time) to the motion between keyframes 2 and 3?

I've had two ideas so far for getting the same result:

1) Make a custom ease that includes all the eases I want. I find this too cumbersome and imprecise, unless there's a way to copy an existing curve into the space between two keyframes of a second curve (without replacing the whole second curve).

2) Split the tween at each keyframe. But then every time I want to adjust keyframe 2 I have to do it twice, and sometimes the break ends up jerking slightly. I'd really rather keep keyframe 2 a shared keyframe.

Actionscript 2.0 :: Array Button Menu That Fades MovieClips With Tween Class?

The first on is using the Tweener class and everytime that I press a button it fades out the loaded content of the previous selection, waits for it to finish and then loads the content of the button pressed. Everything works fine with this part.The second code is the on that is using an Array to dynamicaly rollover, rollout and keep selected the buttons.It was also changing the content of the mc that everything is loaded on but without this fancy fade in - fade out...!So i think its time for some code now...:

Code: Select allimport mx.transitions.*;
import mx.transitions.easing.Strong;
var FADEINSTART:Number = 2;
var FADEINSTOP:Number = 7;

Ive managed to make the previous mc to fade out but cant really make everything work properly...!

IDE :: CS4 New Tween - When Animate Or Apply A Preset Animation It Changes The Position Slightly?

Sep 23, 2010

I really like the new tweens and motion panel that Flash added in CS4 but I'm having some problems with them that I cant find a solution to.

1. When I animate or apply a preset animation it changes the position slightly. I do work where I need things positioned exactly where I put them. For example X:70 Y:210 but when I animate it might for example change it to X:70 Y:210.5 and to make it more confusing even if I animate a group of them at the same time it only does this to some things and not all. Also if I try to change the position back manually it doesnt always let me in the properties panel. I have to go to the Motion Editor and change it there frame by frame.

2. Similar problem to above but with the Alpha property. I want to animate things where it fades on and then stays up for a few frames and then animates back off. When I try to do this using the properties panel it doesnt always let me. So for example I need my alpha values to be in this order for the 4 keyframes. 0, 100, 100, 0. But for the 0 it might force it to 3% instead of the 0 I need. Again I can only fix this by going to the Motion Editor and adjusting it frame by frame.
