ActionScript 3.0 :: Creating Button Menu With Array - List Items?

I am trying to create a buttons menu with Array, and for some reason it only show the lastone on the list.
Here is my code (AS3):

I have been working on making a menu for list items. The file below has an animated menu. If you click on Artificial Intelligence on frame 60, it jumps to frame 61 (a specific section for that list item). How do I make the Artificial Intelligence button on frame 61 jump back to frame 60? I dont know where to add the action script for the function. I need to add a similar script to all 9 list items, do they go on one actionscript file? if so what location? [URL]
I'm using Adobe Flash CS4 professional for this Actionscript 3.0 project. This error always shows up whenever I compile it: "Line 65 - 1093: Syntax error" Haven't I had the parentheses right?

I'm creating a facebook application in flex. I'm actually working on the friends component that shows your friends who are using the application. now, each friend has a profile image.
I created the component using a s:List element.
In the Skin Class of the element i configured the requestedColumnCount to 3, which means it shows 3 friends. i added buttons to scroll left and right in the list.
Whenever I scroll to see a different friend, for a half of a second i see no image because the List component is loading the image in order to view it.
is there a way to make the list preload all the elements so i won't have this kind of problem ?
I've Googled & Binged to no avail. I'm trying to create a dynamic menu in Flash using PHP & MySQL and bring it into Flash using AS3 DataProvider. My menu works fine with a local Array, but I seem to have an issue with the Type being a String and not an Array, but how do I set it up properly so the types are correct? So I started with a typical, non-dynamic array and it works to create my menu:

I'm using flex 4.1 to write an application. i read in the documents that has the rowCount property to set how many items to display. the does not have that property. how can I limit the list to display 3 items ?
I am working on an older Flash project created in CS3 ActionScript 2.0 How can I make the pointer cursor change to the hand when hover over a list item?_root.slidePanel.myList'myList' is the list. I have traced out the contents of the List MC and it has a child MC called 'content_mc'. I assumed this was the object containing all of my list items but the only members of this MC I can see (when tracing them out) are 'setRGB' and 'searchKey'.
The 'recommendations' dataProvider is an ArrayCollection of String, which are generally sentences about as long as this one. By setting the variableRowHeight and wordWrap properties as shown, if a sentence is too long to fit on a single line, everything works fine- the row expands and the messages show on two lines, or occasionally three.
The space allocated for this panel within the entire canvas means if the total text size of 'recommendations' exceeds six lines, I need for the entire list scroll. This is also working just fine. The trouble is when using the mouse wheel to do the scrolling- Flex scrolls both the entire list and the single item where the mouse is hovering. Often this results in only the second half of a sentence being visible. Non-programmer friends I have asked to look at this noticed this, and tell me it as a problem. If a user does not notice the dual scrolling, and sees only a fragment of a sentence, it will be perceived as an error in the application.
Why I have to press 2 times the arrow key down to get a navigation through the list items in a list component of Flash?
Theres any workaround for this? I have a listener for keyboard event that checks if keyCode is equal to 40 if it is then I use 'stage.focus = list', but I have to press 2 times key arrow down to start navigating through list items.

I would like to change it so that I can have a button and when you press it it will make the words appear one at a time in just one text box.( to play jeopardy)E.g. on 1st press it would make word1 appear, then if you continue pressing it the word2 and then word3 will appear in turn.
At the moment I load it like this loadText = new LoadVars(); loadText.load("Jeopardy words.txt");

I need to give a value, then when I give another value, the actionscript goes to the new value slowly.So if I give 10, then I give 20, the value goes 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20. Basically I'm creating a dynamic menu that when a button is highlighted, a vine grows to the button. When you highlight the button next to it, the vine grows to the next button. I can't think of a way for this to work other than this value smoothing technique.
I am working on a DVD User Interface for my final project in Photoshop. For extra credit points I am trying to figure out how to make the menu items to light up when the pointer is touching the menu icon.
I need to add a couple menu items to an existing Flash menu that I did not create, but I am having trouble figuring out how to make the buttons stay highlighted until you click another one. One more thing, the right menu can have only an few items at a time that do not need scrolling but when more are added then the scrolling will need to take effect.

I'm using this AC in a repeater to display each error. After each error is shown, I've placed an "Accept" and "Deny" button. Once the user clicks either one of these buttons, I'd like to call a function that removes the particular error from the AC. Here's what I have so far:

The first on is using the Tweener class and everytime that I press a button it fades out the loaded content of the previous selection, waits for it to finish and then loads the content of the button pressed. Everything works fine with this part.
The second code is the on that is using an Array to dynamicaly rollover, rollout and keep selected the buttons.It was also changing the content of the mc that everything is loaded on but without this fancy fade in - fade out..

I've gotten code that would circle through this with menu without an array, but I have been looking trying to complete it for the sake of better learning about arrays.
I have 3 buttons and I want to use the up, down, arrow keys to cycle through the buttons. So far I have the code to switch the up state once they are clicked on but I am unsure how to incorporate the navigational aspect into the array and have it cycle through.

Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

Good day to everyone. I'm here today to seek help about Flash CS4 and ActionScript 3.0. The story starts when one day, my boss asked me to make a flash presentation about their upcoming user training for a newly developed software. I was enthusiastic and excited about it because it's been a long time that I did not use Flash (note that I don't have any experience in ActionScript 3.0). At first, everything was a bit rough as I need to recall how to properly use the frames to create a successful animation. As I was about to finish the project, my boss approached me again and asked if I could insert a menu page in front so that the users won't have to replay the whole thing again just to look for a little something on that part of the movie. So yea, at first I was abit hesitant to accept. I said that it will work with Powerpoint. But she's a total pusher and I was forced to say yes. Now I'm having this problem about how to make a flash button load a swf movie.I've tried searching all over the net for tutorials but most of the times the "getUrl" and other stuff are said to be outdated.
I am looking at creating a menu with three movieclip buttons on a main menu. I want to keep these buttons on the top of the screen at all times. I am opening different swf's and I want to make sure that the buttons are still showing. I know there is something with changing or swapping the depth of the movie clip when it loads the new swf's in, but I have not found anything that is seeming to work.
I have a Flex list and a custom ItemRenderer. I'd like to be able to have some items in the list use a different ItemRenderer (say, depending on the class of the item). Is this possible?
