Keep Center Of The Movie In The Center Of The Scree Regardless Of Browser Size?

Mar 23, 2009

My flash movie is 1440x900 but the area where all the important stuff happens in within 1024x768, i am trying to keep the middle in the center regardless of browers size or aspect ratio.

I can center the page but it doesn't work as i need it to. If the browers is small (1024x768) the swf is justified against the left edge, but not keeping the middle in the middle of the brower.

[URL] is an example of exactly what i am trying to achieve.

ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Center Image To MovieClip

Jul 7, 2011

As the title says, I'm trying to figure out how to center and image to a movie clip. I am familiar with centering images to the stage.
imageLoader.x = (stage.stageWidth - Number(rawW)) /2;
imageLoader.y = (stage.stageHeight - Number(rawH)) /2;
But I do not know the correct actionscript phrases to implement this same concept into my movie clip known as "gallery_mc".

I want to use the circles as rotation handles.Now the code below works but it terribly, terribly slow.I've seen a couple of other examples of rotation using the mouse position, but I want the polygon to rotate via the handle; I think that means the angle of rotation needs to be updated each time the mouse moves.Is there a cleaner/more efficient way to do this?Also, this works only for one direction right now no matter the x/y direction you move the mouse.

public function mouseDownRotate(event:MouseEvent):void {
// get the global x and y of the dragged piece (offset so it looks like it's rotating around the polygon's center

IDE :: Center Movieclip (with Random Reg Points) On Stage?

Mar 3, 2010

I'm working on a project where I have to load multiple movie clips and center them on the stage.

PHP Code:
loaded_clip._x = Stage._width/2;loaded_clip._y = Stage._height/2;

Unfortunately, in this case that doesn't cut it. The move clips I'm loading all have different registration points, and they end up looking anything but centered. Is there a way to center them based on some other factor other than the registration point, so that they look centered?

Center Component In Movie Clip?

Feb 18, 2011

I'm try to build a photo gallery using the flash components SlideShowPro and ThumbGrid. I have put ThumbGrid inside a movie clip called thumbs_mc that slides in and out when you mouse over it to show or hide the thumbs. That part is working, but I would like to have the stage and thumbs_mc resize to the browser width with ThumbGrid centered inside thumbs_mc.

Resize and scaling the stage and movie clips is not a problem, but I can't figure out how to keep ThumbGrid centered inside the containing movie clip. ThumbGrid is a fixed width component, and the only way I can get it to work is to have the mc the same width as the component. Here's the part of the AS that I'm using to control the positioning now:

Code:
thumbs_mc.x = (sw/2) - (thumbs_mc.my_tg.width/2);
thumbs_mc.y = sh-25;
