I tried using a ToolTipManager to create a tooltip but since Tooltips appear in their own layer in Flex and, as far as I am able to figure, cannot be anchored to any part of the page. May 22, 2009Basically this website here: [URL] (site is a bit slow) and also this site here: [URL] do esactly what I am after. I'm aiming to get an image start 40 pixels in from the right edge (of the browser - using 100% width in css) and once clicked move to 40 pixels from the left edge. Now I've managed to (almost) do it fine in AS3, but, no problem with getting the image to glue to the right hand side, then tween to the left. It's when the user drags the browser to a nice size, the image jumps back over to the right! I almost need a bit of AS3 script that says 'once animation has completed, don't pay attention to the repositioning command!' if that makes sense! My coding is below; (ball_mc is my image)

Jan 20, 2010I rearranged a vertical scrollbar code to get a horizontal scrollbar. The only problem is that now it takes the x coordinate of the last thumbnail (I think) and goes right to left, meaning that the 1st thumbnail will not be at x=0.How can I get it to start with the first thumbnail is at x=0 and go from left to right?

Mar 8, 2011I am trying to create an interative catalog for my small business.( I would like to do something similar to the online catalog that Kohls department store has [URL]... When the user goes to the corner, I would like the page to curl and give them the ability to turn it like a book. I would also like to keep all of my interactive scripting on each page (ie small popup box when the user rolls over an item, larger popup box when they click on an item) I am currently using Flash Pro CS5 to create the rollover/popup boxes, but do not know how to create the page curl effect. I know that InDesign can apply this effect to my pages, but am having issues with this working completely.
I have placed my flash pro cs5 .swf file (which contains my invisible buttons and scripting.) into my InDesign doc. I then export this InDesign doc as a .swf and also generate an html file. When I open the swf or html file, there is a big grey flash logo on the page. If I click on it, the page loads and I am able to interact as I would like and also turn the page with the curl effect. The problem is that every time I turn the page it loads the gray flash logo and I have to click on it again to load the page. An even bigger problem is when I embed the InDesign swf file to my webpage the gray flash logo is still there and even when I click on it, it doesnt load the page. Is there a way to get both interactivity (ie rollover/popupboxes) and the page curl effect I want? Is there a program that will make it easy for me to do both?

Putting Together An Ezine For A Client And He Likes The Page Curl Effect?

I also need to place video in there too and the exported swf does not allow this. Is my only option to produce the whole thing in Flash? Jul 28, 2011I am trying to make a simple Paper page curl effect in Flash. It is animated, but does not need to be draggable. I am NOT looking for a digital magazine type draggable page turn. Just an animated one. I tried using the 3D component in Flash, but got a vey stiff result. I couldn't get the animation to bend, or warp the page. So it looked very flat and stiff. I would like a fairly natural page flip. Something that bends as it turns. There is a plugin in After Effects calle "Page Curl" and that is the basic effect I am looking for, but am trying to recreate it in Flash.

1. Timeline has only 2 frames
1. Make movie clip and give it an instance name (in this case: box_mc). Make sure this takes up frame 1 and 2 on timeline.
2. On a sparate actions layer on frame 1 put this down:
mouse_x = _xmouse;
setProperty (_root.box_mc, _x, mouse_x+((getProperty(_root.box_mc,_x)-mouse_x)/2));
3. On frame 2 of actions layer put:
gotoAndPlay (1);
how to do this in AS3? I really want to be able to have 3d rotation tweening in my flash file and AS2 won't let me do it.

Nov 11, 2010I am on a tight deadline and looking for the AS3 code of how to do what this company does on their site:URL...However, I don't know AS3.Literally my project requires I recreate the what is shown with the hand holding the sharpie and moving only back and forth restricted to a centered rectangular area at the bottom of the screen.I know how to import the image that follows the mouse to the stage, and to make it a movieclip. Let's say I have named the instance "Image_mc".Does anyone have the actionscript for how to do this? Do you attach it to the object or to a keyframe on a separate actions layer?

Sep 22, 2011How would I be able to create a scene where you scroll left to right using the mouse, but instead of having it at a constant rate and having the picture (background) move when your mouse is at a certain x coordinate to have it be that when you move the mouse away from an object the background will move, and will move faster the farther away the mouse is? I have tried scrolling back and forth with x coordinates, but I haven't been able to get this to work.

Feb 1, 2010This was super easy using AS2. I had 2 'loader' movie clips placed on the stage and simply used the loadmovie to bring up the external swfs. How would i accomplish this using AS3? I simply need one movie to display on one side of the stage, and another on the other side of the stage. do i still use these 'loader' movie clips?

Aug 15, 2011I have a stage on the iPhone Project in AS3/CS5, where I want two buttons to appear side by side with say 5 pixels between each button. It's the standard iPhone stage, 320x480. I can position them vertically fine, but side by side, the second button overlaps the first.
The first button, [Twitter], begins at position 10, and is painted out to 200 pixels from the right side of the stage. that is 190 pixels wide.I want the second button to begin 200 out from the left, and be painted for hmmmm 190 pixels. Too wide. Ok, adjust button widths. but you see what I mean I hope. It's probably something simple, but I can't just see it.
So really the question is, how do I get the second button to start at a position 5 pixels after the first one ends? I'll probably have to adjust the button widths so they both fit, but that's ok, so long as they are aligned left, and say 5 pixels apart[code]...
