I created SharedObject using AS2.0 it's working fine.... my question is can it possible to store the variable values in an .txt file where the flash file is saved... basically the SharedObject will store the vallues in localdrive with file extention. not only using SharedObject if any other way to store the vaules in .txt file will be helpfull for me... my requirement is to store the the position of the swf file and when the time it reopen, it should start from previous position.

Jul 17, 2010- I create a new fla file in Flash CS5 Professional,- I go to publish settings and select AIR2 as the target- I click the Settings button on the rightThese settings are supposed to be saved with the fla file, since all of them are related to the project.Application name, icons, files to include, etc, are all preferences related to the fla file of which you are editing the settings.However, when you go to the "Signature" tab and select a digital certificate to sign the air application with, this setting will NOT be saved into the file.Instead, whenever you publish ANY air application, it will use by default the lastcertificate you have used, even if you used it to publish _another_ application.That is absurd, because this is a tab within the "publish settings" and all publish settings are specific to a fla file.

Sep 9, 2009The swf that I saved appears to be blank. When I run it from the saved location, it comes up blank but when opened in the decompiler it plays. But when I save out the FLA from the decompiler, it saves what appears to be an empty FLA. One would guess that they are dynamically loading info from the web but I am finding no Actionscript to even do that.

Nov 10, 2009I am trying to create a news rotator that pulls info and images from an XML file.I made something similar a while back which pulled just the headlines which worked great and I am trying to adapt this same idea to a current project. pull all the info from the XML and push them into separate arrays based on the type of information it is. ie title, description, image etc.From there I have a function which is supposed to display the all of the info and another which cycles through it based on a timer.Like I said before, this worked great with just the headlines, but when trying to add images its getting thrown off. The function which intends to parse the data and pushing it into separate arrays.

I'm aware that it has something to do with either how the info for the images is being parsed (or not), and/or how I am going about displaying it.I was able to write a separate function which displayed one image as intended, but then wouldn't cycle through as the news changed.
Flex :: Reading Large CSV File Line By Line?
Oct 8, 2010I need to read a large CSV file (8-15 MB) and generate a LineChart in Flex AIR. Since Chart need data in structurd format like XML. When I read CSV and convert it to XML object 8 MB file size become 24 MB XML object and not able to graph.
Best solution is to read Line by line and read only part of data. How can I acheive this in Flex AIR ? Is it possible to read line by line in Flex.
Otherwise what are the best ways to draw a graph in FLEX using large data.
Professional :: Button File Opens In Saved Location / But Won't Open In New Location
Aug 21, 2011I created a simple button that displays an error messeage: "error opening 'url" when I test the movie, but does play and opens in browser after publishing. However, it won't open in the browser in a different location. I pasted the html code in a web page but it doesn't work there nor opens in the browser in a differnet location from where it was originally published and saved. Why is that?

Feb 2, 2012I was editing an FLA file which was Read Only due to our versioning system (P4) however, when I did not have a file checked out (therefore was Read Only), I did not get an error when I saved the file (there was even a save progress bar!) - yet when I opened the file again, all the information I had "Saved" was not there. I tested this out on several other non-checked out files (read-only files) and I was still able to hit "save" on all of them - but it did not actually save the file. In none of these instances was I alerted that I was trying to edit a read only file.

Professional :: Last Changes Not Saved?
Sep 12, 2011I have an issue with Flash CS 5.5When creating content and publish the swf and then save the fla file , all seem fine.When closing the fla and reopen it later, the last changes I made are not saved??This happens NOT every time.At first I thought it was me that I didn't save the document before closing, but no this really happens!

Jun 10, 2009I am testing Flash CS4 at the moment, but something is wrong with it. What I did hundreds of times in CS3, here it just doesn't work.I used Adobe Media Encoder to make F4V from AVI. Then I imported that file to flash (load external video with playback component). Then I previewed it (ctrl+enter) and everything was fine, but once I saved (or published) it, the movie didn't play anymore. There was just background and no movie nor playback component.I tried encoding that file to FLV, even for older flash versions (I have the newest one installed), but that didn't help.

Sep 3, 2009How do you increase the size of an entire movie into an actual swf file? I note that increasing the stage size increases the "frame" that the movie opens in, but does not increase the size of the movie itself. I find a lot of stuff on the internet about sizing a flash movie using html embedding, and perhaps that is what I need...but what I really mean is change the size of the whole movie before it is saved as an SWF and within Flash itself. Is there a simple way to do this? I mean, once you have the movie in place but have simply not saved it to SWF yet. Again, I note that cghanging "size" on document properties enlarges the frame that the movie opens in but not the movie itself.
