The swf that I saved appears to be blank. When I run it from the saved location, it comes up blank but when opened in the decompiler it plays. But when I save out the FLA from the decompiler, it saves what appears to be an empty FLA. One would guess that they are dynamically loading info from the web but I am finding no Actionscript to even do that.

Using the web services panel, I've connected to a web service, but all the method calls will only show the param structures/types - not the result structures/types. To the best of my knowledge, I'm sending the right parameters, in the right structure, but always I get an empty response.The web services panel:

I have a problem with SharedObject. I created SharedObject using AS2.0 it's working fine.... my question is can it possible to store the variable values in an .txt file where the flash file is saved... basically the SharedObject will store the vallues in localdrive with file extention. not only using SharedObject if any other way to store the vaules in .txt file will be helpfull for me... my requirement is to store the the position of the swf file and when the time it reopen, it should start from previous position.

View 4 Replies- I create a new fla file in Flash CS5 Professional,- I go to publish settings and select AIR2 as the target- I click the Settings button on the rightThese settings are supposed to be saved with the fla file, since all of them are related to the project.Application name, icons, files to include, etc, are all preferences related to the fla file of which you are editing the settings.However, when you go to the "Signature" tab and select a digital certificate to sign the air application with, this setting will NOT be saved into the file.Instead, whenever you publish ANY air application, it will use by default the lastcertificate you have used, even if you used it to publish _another_ application.That is absurd, because this is a tab within the "publish settings" and all publish settings are specific to a fla file.

The connection in the php file is ok. I can see the data from the database.
I made a small .GIF file to show my abilities to my friend and what I can do but when I save it and I open it up on my desktop little red dots appear on the image. I go to import>movie file(to save as an animated gif.) then the red dots appear on the image.

I'm creating a list of courses for an LMS where the data is pulled in from an XML file. All that works perfectly well.
The user should be able to filter the list based on a number of parameters and I have been able to get some of it working (the very simple filters) but other things just wont work.
For example - I am able to filter the results based on the node values that are located directly under the main "course" node. However each of these main course nodes also contain a "sub-node" called "Categories". What I really need is to be able to filter based on the content found in that categories node as well.[code]...
Can the clickTAG code in a flash banner be changed if you only have the .swf file and not the .fla file?

However, it won't open in the browser in a different location. I pasted the html code in a web page but it doesn't work there nor opens in the browser in a differnet location from where it was originally published and saved. Why is that?
View 13 RepliesI was editing an FLA file which was Read Only due to our versioning system (P4) however, when I did not have a file checked out (therefore was Read Only), I did not get an error when I saved the file (there was even a save progress bar!) - yet when I opened the file again, all the information I had "Saved" was not there. I tested this out on several other non-checked out files (read-only files) and I was still able to hit "save" on all of them - but it did not actually save the file. In none of these instances was I alerted that I was trying to edit a read only file.
View 1 RepliesI've recently upgraded to CS5 and the Media Encoder creates incredibly HUGE files compared to the CS4 media encoder.
For example, I can convert a 15MB mpg file to a 12 MB flv file in CS4 using the preset "FLV same as source"
I do not find a matching preset in CS5, but tried "FLV - match source atributes (medium quality)" Encoding the same file in CS5 with this preset results in 170MB file.
I've tried adjusting the settings, comparing the options in both versions, and I still can't get a reasonably sized file out of the CS5 media encoder.
This seems really broken to me. A 170 MB file is not useful in any way. Do I have bad presets?

I am creating an interactive cd which basically runs a blank projector which then loads in various swf files from fscommand folder as and when required.
Part of the CD is a quiz - created using one of the standard flash templates. When this is loaded into the main projector as a swf file it runs perfectly until it gets to the "results page" - at this point it returns the blank templates e.g Answered = 0.
If you play the swf file on it's own it works fine. If you play the file as a projector on it's own it works fine too.
The problem only occurs when it is loaded into the main projector on a level above the root.

I'm having some trouble getting around a security restriction of flex. Saving a file is apparently an action that can only be invoked upon user interaction. The problem is that after my user clicks on the save button, I need to perform a database query to get the data for the file I want to save.
Because Flex works asynchronous, I have to make the database call and then catch the ResultEvent in a different function. In that function, I no longer have the user's mouseclick event. How am I then supposed to save this file?

I have to load a text file. First I want to detect if the file exists or not, so I use "if (rawTxt == undefined)".
Now, if the file exists and contains data, the condition n2 is met...it's OK! But now, if the file exists BUT is empty it doesn't meet the condition n2.. It's not "undefined" neither "not undefined" since any trace action accours.
In other words, how can I check that a text file exists...AND that it's empty or not (so that I can add a branch if that condition is met?) Try by yourself with an empty text file named "Favorites.ini".

What is a reasonable file size for a Flash wide skyscraper ad? I know the IAB is a max initial load of 40k for standard ad's, but what about Flash? Either I'm losing my mind or my client is for them wanting something under 30KB. I've used AS3 for almost all animation, I even killed all animation and I still can't get it under 30KB. Is there some kind of compression secret that I'm missing?I've compressed the images before import.I've reduced quality of the images inside Flash as much as possible without killing quality

I installed said program but whenever I add users, it says they were added successfully and exist in CMD.However when I check the users.dat file it is empty. When I try Live Encoder it says the user does not exist.
