I created SharedObject using AS2.0 it's working fine.... my question is can it possible to store the variable values in an .txt file where the flash file is saved... basically the SharedObject will store the vallues in localdrive with file extention. not only using SharedObject if any other way to store the vaules in .txt file will be helpfull for me... my requirement is to store the the position of the swf file and when the time it reopen, it should start from previous position.

View 1 Replies- I create a new fla file in Flash CS5 Professional,- I go to publish settings and select AIR2 as the target- I click the Settings button on the rightThese settings are supposed to be saved with the fla file, since all of them are related to the project.Application name, icons, files to include, etc, are all preferences related to the fla file of which you are editing the settings.However, when you go to the "Signature" tab and select a digital certificate to sign the air application with, this setting will NOT be saved into the file.Instead, whenever you publish ANY air application, it will use by default the lastcertificate you have used, even if you used it to publish _another_ application.That is absurd, because this is a tab within the "publish settings" and all publish settings are specific to a fla file.

View 4 RepliesThe swf that I saved appears to be blank. When I run it from the saved location, it comes up blank but when opened in the decompiler it plays. But when I save out the FLA from the decompiler, it saves what appears to be an empty FLA. One would guess that they are dynamically loading info from the web but I am finding no Actionscript to even do that.

2) Append to XML
3) Save XML using PHP
Well, why when I load the same XML file does it read the file without the appendend nodes I just added?I can open the XML file in Dreamweaver and see the appended nodes, but once I load the XML back into the .SWF, it clears the appended nodes and only reads the original nodes again..[code]My .swf is local at this point and PHP and XML files are on a server running PHP5.Apparently the PHP script is correct because it DOES save the file correctly. I can save as many <persons /> as I want. But when I close the Flash .swf the URLLoader reads the original XML data again. Not sure how that's possible?When I change the location of the XML to load into the URLLoader it changes so I know it's reading the same file I saved to..
I am trying to create a swf file from my original file. I have published swf files before from this file but all of a sudden I get a error. It says "Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive. Also, check that the file name is not too long. I checked the files and neither the destination file nor the drive locked. The file is named index and always has been named that. What am I doing wrong?

However, it won't open in the browser in a different location. View 13 RepliesI was editing an FLA file which was Read Only due to our versioning system (P4) however, when I did not have a file checked out (therefore was Read Only), I did not get an error when I saved the file (there was even a save progress bar!) - yet when I opened the file again, all the information I had "Saved" was not there. I tested this out on several other non-checked out files (read-only files) and I was still able to hit "save" on all of them - but it did not actually save the file. In none of these instances was I alerted that I was trying to edit a read only file.
View 1 RepliesI'd like to draw key frames in Flash, just simple drawings/skelettons using the pen tool, basically to create the movement itself. After that, I want to export the frames that I drew as images to Photoshop in order to apply texture and colour, and then put them back into Flash again, without tampering with the Flash doc I've already created, since the animation is already done. I want the file(s) that I'm working with to remain the same files throughout the process, from Flash to Photoshop and back to Flash again, like the way InDesign works. Is this even possible?
If this isn't possible at all, I guess the alternative is to draw in Photoshop and then import the drawings into Flash, put them in order and then make any eventual changes after you've created the animation in Flash, this is less smooth though still possible. But here emerges (sort of) the same problem:
When I import images from Photoshop, create animation out of them, and then realize I have to make some changes in the original PS pic file I head back to PS to correct it. But it just doesn't work the way I want it to... If I modify the pic file in PS, then use the "update" alternative in Flash Library, Flash just tells me that the file can't be found, and does not update the image. If I choose the "edit in PS"-alternative from right clicking on a symbol that is in the library, the file opens as a .png file in PS, not as my original file! It seems to me that Flash is creating its own library, not using the existing document. Is there anyway to go around this? How do I make Flash use my PS file which allows me to change it as much as I want (as with InDesign)?
This is driving me crazy, what I'm working on is supposed to be full HD, I can't use a freaking .png file...

I'm an actionscript beginner and am trying to create a flash file with a button that allows to user to swith from viewing my movie in their browser, to viewing it full screen.I've managed to source some code from the net, and although when I click my 'toggle button' the full screen works perfectly...when I click it again the flash file returns to the original browser window but I dont see my movie - just my back ground fill colour.The code I have is as follows (and is placed on frame 01 of my actions layer)

View 0 RepliesI create a file in 5.5, then do a "save as" to create a new file based on the previous file. Make the changes, save it, publish it. Reopen the fla file, and it is not what I saved - it's the file it was "saved as". Needless to say this makes me very unhappy, as I must redo each file again. Sometimes that fails again! May go back to v5.

View 9 RepliesI am testing Flash CS4 at the moment, but something is wrong with it. What I did hundreds of times in CS3, here it just doesn't work.I used Adobe Media Encoder to make F4V from AVI. Then I imported that file to flash (load external video with playback component). Then I previewed it (ctrl+enter) and everything was fine, but once I saved (or published) it, the movie didn't play anymore. There was just background and no movie nor playback component.I tried encoding that file to FLV, even for older flash versions (I have the newest one installed), but that didn't help.

I note that increasing the stage size increases the "frame" that the movie opens in, but does not increase the size of the movie itself. I find a lot of stuff on the internet about sizing a flash movie using html embedding, and perhaps that is what I need...but what I really mean is change the size of the whole movie before it is saved as an SWF and within Flash itself. Is there a simple way to do this? I mean, once you have the movie in place but have simply not saved it to SWF yet. Again, I note that cghanging "size" on document properties enlarges the frame that the movie opens in but not the movie itself.

I already tried re saving the flas publishing in percentage that doesn't work. If I make the actual stage smaller the mc's and all dimensions would have to be made smaller manually am I correct.

I made a small slideshow swf consisting of two jpeg images and nothing else. No music or other bells or whistles.Just 2 images converted to symbols, some keyframe/tween definitions with altered alpha channels.The slideshow runs perfectly and as I expect.
I save the slideshow as a .fla file.I need to add some more functionality from this plateau to show that the product can do what we need to the boss.
When I later load this .fla file, I don't see my graphics on the stage anymore. I right-click on the images and click on the option in the dialog to update the images. I see that the white stage now has the image I expected. When I close the dialog that lets me update the image flash pro abends and I get the crash dialog from microsoft.
