ActionScript 2.0 :: Back To The Original When The Mouse Rolled Out?

Jan 6, 2005

I was trying to create a button rollover that, when the mouse was over a button, a movie clip would advance frames, and go back to the original when the mouse rolled out. The AS I used was just the basic button rollover, attached to the button itself

[Code]...

But, even if the command is gotoAndPlay, the clip will advance and show objects that are not symbols(if they are symbols, it shows the last frame of the symbol), or objects that have been motion tweened.

Two questions out of all of this. First, is there a better way to do a button rollover? And secondly, is there a way to get movie clips/motion tweened objects to show up in a movie clip that is dependent on a rollover?

Professional :: Make Buttons That Animate On Mouse Over Go Back To Original State *smoothly* On Mouse Off?

Aug 26, 2011

The title pretty much sums up what I am trying to do: I haven't started digging into using script in Flash yet, still being very much a beginner.

I created a simple file using movie clips nested in buttons so that when I mouseover a letter, it bobs up and down, but I can't work out how to make it return to its original "up" state *smoothly* when the mouse is moved away. If it must involve script please be aware I am a total noob!

ActionScript 2.0 :: Movie And Sound - Make The Sound Fade Away When The Mouse Is Rolled Away?

May 18, 2007

I use Flash MX 6.0

1) I have a button and when I put cursor over it, it must start looping a sound. When I drag away, the sound must stop. I would be even cooler if it was possible to make the sound fade away when the mouse is rolled away. I have no problem creating another sound file that fades my current sound away.

2) I have a button which represents a knife, that should stab something (a panel) once pressed. So fist the knife must be clean. but after one or more presses, the blood should remain as a movie clip (as I want to animate the dripping blood)

3) once rolled over a button, the sound must start looping (as I wrote in 1.) AND the knife should slowly go backwards (MC). BUT when I roll mouse away, the sound fades away (as in 1. again) PLUS the knife should slowly move back to its place in stead of just jump from one place to another.

Professional :: Make Flash Use The Original Photoshop File, Not A .png One?

Aug 9, 2011

I'd like to draw key frames in Flash, just simple drawings/skelettons using the pen tool, basically to create the movement itself. After that, I want to export the frames that I drew as images to Photoshop in order to apply texture and colour, and then put them back into Flash again, without tampering with the Flash doc I've already created, since the animation is already done. I want the file(s) that I'm working with to remain the same files throughout the process, from Flash to Photoshop and back to Flash again, like the way InDesign works. Is this even possible?

If this isn't possible at all, I guess the alternative is to draw in Photoshop and then import the drawings into Flash, put them in order and then make any eventual changes after you've created the animation in Flash, this is less smooth though still possible. But here emerges (sort of) the same problem:

When I import images from Photoshop, create animation out of them, and then realize I have to make some changes in the original PS pic file I head back to PS to correct it. But it just doesn't work the way I want it to... If I modify the pic file in PS, then use the "update" alternative in Flash Library, Flash just tells me that the file can't be found, and does not update the image. If I choose the "edit in PS"-alternative from right clicking on a symbol that is in the library, the file opens as a .png file in PS, not as my original file! It seems to me that Flash is creating its own library, not using the existing document. Is there anyway to go around this? How do I make Flash use my PS file which allows me to change it as much as I want (as with InDesign)?

This is driving me crazy, what I'm working on is supposed to be full HD, I can't use a freaking .png file...

I currently have a movie clip where the background changes with a motion tween and i used some action script so that depending on the button the specific frame will play and then stop in the background change mc.However after you have done things once they get screwed up and instead of the animation it just changes pictures instantly and the picture is usually incorrect.here is a sample of the actionscript i am using:

ActionScript 3.0 :: Make An Image Fade In And Out When A Button Is Rolled Over?

Jun 15, 2011

In an earlier post I mentioned I had solved my problem of finding out how to make an image fade in and out when a button is rolled over.I used this code:

image.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, imageOver);
image.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, imageOut);
function imageOver(event:MouseEvent):void{[code]....

Where the button is a movie clip containing a layer of stop actions, a layer of labels, and the image which fades in and out using a Tween and Alpha combination. It works great when the mouse rolls over the button, however if I roll over the area where the image fades in and out, the image will also appear! It's almost as though the 'hit' area is both the button and the image but I am unsure how to change this.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Scaling SWF To Less Than Or Equal To Original Size

Apr 1, 2010

how to scale a SWF in the browser window, but not larger than the original stage size in the FLA file?  For instance, I've designed a course in Flash with stage size of 1024x768 in Flash.  In the published HTML document, I change the following values:

'width', '1024' changed to 'width', '100%'
'height', '768' changed to 'height', '100%'
'scale', 'noscale' changed to 'scale', '100%'

These changes in the HTML source code allow the SWF to size with the browser, but I don't want the SWF to grow larger than 1024x768 if the browser window is greater than these dimensions.  I want the max size of the SWF to be 1024x768 regardless of the browser window.

how to achieve this in the HTML source code and/or AS2?

Flash :: Return Movieclip To Original Size?

May 6, 2010

I made a gallery in flash. I have external images load in a fixed display area -- I call it 'imageStage'. When the image is loaded, I resize the movieclip at the _x and _y to make the image fit the stage.

But what happens -- when I flip prev/next through a couple images, they keep shrinking and shrinking. Images that are smaller than the fixed area are being shrunk even further.

I'm thinking maybe if I clear the existing image from the MovieClip, it will reset itself back to regular size and proportions. But I don't know how to go about it.

How To Make File Size Lower

Aug 24, 2010

I normally work with print design but am designing some flash banners for a client. Just have some questions about file size.My current banner is 125kb but they want it under 25kb. Is that practical for a flash banner? Also, I have done tests with import options and it looks like if I import my artwork as an .ai file and convert to symbol then it gives a lower file size than importing as a png or jpg.How can I make my file size lower? I know it's hard to answer without seeing the file but is there an option similar to 'save for web' in photoshop where I can adjust the quality to reduce file size?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Sliding Photo Gallery - Graphic Symbol A Different Size From The Original Template

Mar 16, 2009

I just pulled together a picture gallery, where the pictures simply scroll across the screen using arrows. I used the template from [URL] The problem is that when I added my own pictures, the graphic symbol was obviously a different size from the original template. So when the images scroll they should stop at a certain point as to not show any empty space. I changed the values that i guessed were the ones setting up where the graphic has to stop at, but it doesnt seem to be doing anything. The code below is the only script of any importance, at least that I know of. The other stuff just points to targets and gotoandplay stuff.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Senocular's TransformTool - MovieClip Is Relocated Much Smaller Than Its Original Size ?

Jul 5, 2010

I see a number of cool sites and examples using Senocular's TransformTool. Most of them look and function really well. I've downloaded and reviewed the code for a number of different examples.I can see how everyone else's works.I'm having difficulty with 2 points:

1. When I select a movieClip, the TransformTool appears in the correct spot and in the correct dimensions. But the movieClip itself is relocated much above the TransformTool and is MUCH smaller than its original size and the current (and correct) dimensions of the TransformTool. Selecting one of the handles and dragging stretches the movieClip but does not make it the same dimensions as the TransformTool

2. Releasing one of the handles seems to cause the handle to behave in the same way the movieClip did -- you can resize and move the handle.
